When my kiddo came out, he had a fro with undefined curls, I was shocked and I could tell that my son was not happy. He said he thought there would be further styling or cutting but that did not happen. My teen doesn't quite yet have his voice to speak up. Needless to say when we got home, he was in tears and he had to stay home instead of going to a dinner event. I called the salon the next day and spoke to Angie. I sent her the pictures of what he wanted and what he ended up with. She said they would find a solution immediately. However it's been over a week of text messages that have not been returned. None of my voice mails have been returned. I even walked in to the salon and Angie was out to lunch. I was told Nicole would call me back. That has not happened. I managed to talk to Angie and she promised she would talk to Nicole that day and get me a response. It's now been over 7 days and this has not been resolved. We walked away paying Melissa $345 including tip. And another $100 in products. Seems like we need a call back and definitely need a redo which they advertise as their policy if there is unsatisfactory service or a refund. I hope that if Melissa reads this or the owners, they might consider growing a conscience in the treatment we have received.

Finding the salon was easy and there was parking right out front, which made it even better. I stay in South Pasadena on weekends at my boyfriend's house, so I decided to give it a try. EJ was incredibly kind and welcoming. I arrived a few minutes early while he was finishing with another client, and he saw me right at my appointment time. He also offered drinks and snacks, which I really appreciated because I definitely needed the caffeine boost that day. He washed my hair and gave me the trim I desperately needed, removing all my split ends while still keeping my hair long just like I asked. I'm always nervous about losing too much length, but he really listened and delivered exactly what I wanted. His station was also very cute and calming, with plants around the mirror and a dream catcher. I deal with anxiety, so I really appreciated his relaxing energy during the appointment. I usually get my trims done in Beverly Hills with my longtime stylist, and I was pleasantly surprised that the price here was about the same -- $120, which is pretty standard for a good trim in Beverly Hills as well. Since I happened to be in the area, I thought "why not?" and I'm really glad I did because it turned out to be such a pleasant experience.

Scarlet also knew I was nervous about changing the color of my hair because I hadn't changed it in so long, so she recommended a balayage treatment, where I could start out with a subtle transition from dark brown hair at the top to a slightly lighter golden brown towards the ends (and she recommended we started off not going too light at the beginning, and then if I liked it, I could always choose to go lighter later on).
