This may seem like a trendy salon, but do not let that fool you. Everyone who works there seems like they are on something. The owner or manager, not sure his position of this place (Joseph) is the one who i should thank for my horrible experience... All I really needed was a trim, as my beautiful haircut had grown out quite a bit (still looked good, but a little on the shaggy side). I told him this, sat down, and he seemed to understand what I wanted. Over two hours later, he finished with the trimming. I constantly had to remind him to not cut it too short. By the time he was done, my hair was almost as short as the first time I had been in, and I didn't like the cut but hoped that when I washed it and styled it it would look okay. I got home, and my boyfriend's first comment was, "They gave you a mullet." I knew i had gotten a bad haircut, but did not realize how bad of a cut it was. The hair in the back was much longer than anything on the top. I tried styling my hair, and it still looked terrible. In tears, I begged my boyfriend to just shave it all off. So out came the clippers. My boyfriend could do a better job with a 1" blade on his clippers than this guy who is "licensed". It was a relatively traumatic experience. My hair is still growing back out. All in all, my updated summary review is that this salon (as would probably be expected) is VERY unprofessional. I do not recommend this salon to anyone, unless you are looking for disappointment and regret. Worst of all, they are overpriced!!! read more

Unfortunately I had my eyelash extensions done here for the first time. Supposedly it was 85 which they supply u with the lowest product lashes. Violet rushed the procedure and one eye was had more lashes and she put alot of glue. It was first time and alot of people insisted to have gone to a different place. I still tipped her the total was 100 dollars. I don't know about there other services but for sure the eyelash extensions were a no go... And I think the other reviews were falsey written. This is a small, trendy, salon in the heart of Sherman Oaks. I normally go somewhere else, but I saw Jozef on a whim. Can I say that he was so helpful and egar to show why a haircut is worth spending some money on. I was looking for a haircut on a Monday and no one was open. I Feel Beautiful!!! Thank you Niki! If you are thinking about getting hair extensions, you need to talk to Niki at Salon Beauty Bar!! Niki has been my stylist for years, and she has always been truly amazing. But, as great as her cuts and colorings are, I have always (secretly..?) longed for long thick luscious hair - and sadly, my genetics just did not allow for that. I have thin, frizzy hair that, whenever I try to grow it out, just looks scraggly. So, I had been thinking about extensions for a long time, but I had heard so many horror stories of extensions looking fake, not lasting, and causing so much damage to the natural hair that I figured they just weren't worth it. I then finally let Niki know what I'd been pondering, and after an in-depth consultation with her, and after she educated and reassured me on the type and quality of hair extensions she used, I was willing to give it a try. I am now onto my second set of extensions, and I can unequivocally say that the entire experience has been great. The hair is phenomenal quality, and Niki made the application process very comfortable. She really focused on the details, making sure the extensions blended in seamlessly with my hair and the finished product was outstanding. The care of the hair is far easier than I expected. I am able to style my hair normally, including wearing my hair up (as I need to do for work everyday), without anyone being able to tell I have extensions. I kept the first set of extensions in for 5 months before we changed them out, and they still looked great. The removal process was also easier than expected, and my own hair was virtually undamaged. I cannot express enough how excited I am at the transformation hair extensions provided; I have beautiful luscious long hair, at last!!! When I first got them, I could not stop staring at myself - literally. Any time I walked past any reflective surface for at least the first week, I stopped and stared (my husband got really annoyed with me). I was surprised at how much more beautiful and confident I felt - I guess I never understood what an impact great hair can make. So, I am the kind of gal who is always looking for a bargain, a deal--a STEAL. However you want to call it--if those words are in the ad or some sort of flier "DING DING DING!" goes off in my head and that's the option I go with, bc its a "deal" Right? Then I find myself searching new salons--still in my price range and I go to a new place every time only to find I keep getting the same results. It would be one thing If I wanted my hair orange, pink, and purple low lights and a cut that resembles some lady gaga video---sure that would be hard. But I am a regular girl, with regular hair, and just want it to look good, and for it to be healthy, and to go to a salon and receive great service. That's all I want. So I go to Beauty Bar I got CASSIE as my stylist. She took the time to really listen to what I wanted, and explained everything before getting scissor happy. ---I have super long hair, and for some reason stylists just love to chop the hell out of it. OH and right away she told me there was a complimentary brow waxing---uh...DEAL?=) Then she offered me a drink, coffee, water, or ALCOHOL...hello, how else am I gonna find happiness in this life. I like salons that do that. Makes it really feel like you're being TREATED, or PAMPERED. Let me tell you one more thing. This cassie chick gave me like this amazing wash/massage....and I know that's normal but you know how you can tell it they hate doing that part or don't want to do it, and they're just rushing through it? Or does that only happen to me...Anyway she was just like super accommodating and really took the time. So I LOVE her, and when people treat you really well, that's why you go back. That is why I WILL go back. It was a little out of my budget, BUT here's my point--I swear I have one. Don't buy a shitty purse bc it WILL break. Don't go to a shitty salon, you won't like it and it will be treated like a chore. So I just choose to switch some things up in my budget to make it work. Trust me I get living on a budget and saving wherever you can. I like to shop at Thrift stores, sample sales, wholesale place etc etc. Makes me feel good to find deals and to get more for my money. But your hair doesn't work like that. Its on your head everyday---and you can only hide a shitty cut or color for so long wearing a pony tail or a beanie everyday. So when It comes to my hair or health I like to pay for great quality, with a CARING professional, at a clean fun salon and get the results I want. I came to this salon with hopes to leave with healthier and better hair. However, I left with the complete opposite. I went to go get my hair done by someone named Matt. I had two inches of regrowth and wanted to make the rest of my hair to match its natural color. I have long hair. Matt ruined it! He was unable to match my roots, so he decided to lift the color with bleach. He left the bleach on for too long underneath the hot dryer. My hair is totally fried, completely burned, and falling out. I have severe chemical damaged, horrifying, and gross colored hair. I don't know how to revive my messed up hair, so for now I have decided to wear a wig. I cried so much!!!! My husband is now trying to sue him. read more

I bought a voucher from living social for a haircut and conditioning treatment, my hair was totally fried, although I've been trying to grow my hair out and it was pretty long, middle of my back, it was a mess, my appointment was with Nicky, for the first time after getting a haircut I was completely happy, she only cut what was really NEEDED, she explained what needed to be done showing me why and exactly how much she would cut and asked before she cut each section if it was ok with me, then gave me an incredible conditioning treatment and even gave me a free sample to take home, before I left she gave me her card and said if I have any questions or don't remember how to use what she gave me I could call her, also, I bought a treatment oil she recommended , she said to try it for two weeks and of I wasn't happy I could bring it back for a refund or I could Exchange it for something else.
