I had a fantastic, relaxing time here! My appointment was with Yasuka and she was incredibly friendly and calming. I was nervous when reviews said it was noisy and in a shared space but that felt very misleading. It's a small, personal space perfect for a spa atmosphere. Yasuka gave great recommendations for scalp care. Ive been to a few headspas that felt just like an aimless hair wash, but this service had intention and provided a relaxing massage to both your shoulders & scalp. Also worth noting this is the most comfortable recliner I've been in at a headspa! Usually my neck is at a bit of an angle to reach the sink but this set up was seamless. Takuma is the nicest person ever! I came here as a treat to myself and read great reviews about Takuma, so I wanted to book him. He was kind, welcoming, and made the experience such a memorable and luxurious one. We started off by examining my scalp with a magnified camera - it was kind of gross to see my scalp up close (LOL), but he pointed out the build up that was accumulating. Yes, the deep clean was much needed hahahaha. I got into the other seat, and the wash/massage began! I opted for the combo (deep scalp clean + head massage) and it was divine. I almost fell asleep during the process. We chatted for a bit in Japanese and it felt like talking to a friend! I got to see my scalp through the magnified camera again after the massage/cleanse, and it was a night and day difference. My head also felt so much lighter! The Japanese products he used in my hair also smelled so good. Takuma is a wonderful person, and took such great care of me! I highly recommend going to him for a relaxing treat-yourself spa day! My husband booked the appointment for me, and I wasn't sure what to expect when I heard I was getting a head spa treatment. Long story short, I have had a better experience in Japan and my expectation was a lot higher considering the price. My head masseur was very nice tho. He started the session by showing my scalp condition using a microscope camera and iPad, which I found fascinating. Overall treatment and massage were very gentle and relaxing, but not quite satisfying. The quick neck and shoulder massage at the end felt way better than the head. Also, my husband forgot to add a blow-dry, so I ended up leaving the place with wet hair on a 60°F cold evening. The salon space is super tiny and they only serve 1 client at a time, so I can imagine they have a limited time slot. However, I wish he offered me to do a quick hair dry cause I would have paid additionally. I didn't have any plans after the session, but it could have been a disaster if I did. So guys, DON'T forget to add a blow dry when you make an appointment for yourself or someone as a gift. lol After checking other people's reviews, I've realized that you'd get the best experience with the owner and a longer session of over 60 minutes if you are thinking about giving this place a try. read more

Wow, I can't believe ppl thought this was worth it. I paid $180 (head spa with owner) and it's just a somewhat elevated hair wash (with a steam and massage). The space itself was horrible too. There's not an actual spa facility, it's basically rooms scattered around. There were constantly people walking and talking; I even heard construction sounds. It was not at all a relaxing experience! Website and Yelp photos are unfortunately misleading. It may be in the Rodeo Collection but the service is done in a very small random room in an open hallway and not easy to find as there is no signage. No office, no reception area, no check in. It's quite noisy outside so it's hard to relax. The first part where they showed your scalp on the iPad was interesting and the 5 min head steam felt nice but that was the best part. All in all it just felt like a long drawn out shampoo which I could've done at home. Hair dry is also not included. The head massage was way shorter than I was expecting too, and that was the main reason I wanted to go here. I was so looking forward to this experience but was ultimately disappointed. Not worth the high price in my opinion. Maybe I had high expectations because all of the 5 star reviews. I would've given one star but the gentleman was so very nice so I gave 3. I intentionally paid more to see Sayuri because I so wanted this to be an amazing experience. I've been searching forever for a place to get a relaxing, dedicated head massage in LA and I was really hoping that this would be my place. The good: Sayuri is super sweet, and I really appreciated the detailed communication/directions on how to get to the right location. The Beverly Hills spot is tucked away in a very nice but pretty windy and confusing group of stores/restaurants/spas on Rodeo and I'm sure I wouldn't have found it without the photos I was texted to guide the way. Regardless, the plaza it's in is super gorgeous and I was able to have a nice coffee before coming in. Ambience was great. Sayuri was punctual, friendly, and overall I had a pretty nice time. The neutral/bad: I just don't think it was worth the price :( I paid $180 (over $200 with tip) for 1 hour, and it seems like 20 or so minutes of it was just basic head washing and steaming. And when it got to the head massage portion, I never really felt that it was as relaxing as I thought it would be. The headspa has signs around it that say cheekily "Did you know that your scalp has a g spot?" so I was excited to see what that felt like. I feel like i've felt it in portions of regular full body massages, so I was so looking forward to what I'd experience at a place fully dedicated to relaxation of the head. Initially, I felt that the touch was too light. You know that perfect amount of pressure that just makes you feel like you're floating? I didn't feel it, and the head massage just didn't feel noticeable to me. So I asked to increase the pressure, and then the pressure increased too much! It went from not noticeable to too firm. It also felt a bit repetitive - the same few motions and pressing on the same spots over and over again for the duration. An interesting and very thorough hair wash? Sure. A super relaxing luxurious head massage? Not really. Then when time was up I was surprised to find that a lightweight blow dry wasn't included. Sayuri did offer to let me blow dry my own hair before leaving so I didn't want out with completely wet hair, but for the price I would have thought that leaving you how you arrived would have been a given. I guess I appreciate that you're not charged for blow drying time, but it felt a bit rushed and off to me, especially having gotten the longer session. I hesitated to leave a review for this place because I genuinely really enjoyed and respect Sayuri and wish her all the best with her business! My expectations may have just been a bit too high with all the 5 star reviews and I just feel that the price was too steep for what I experienced. I purchased the scalp detox which also includes the head massage (DROOL!) and I added a blowout after. Takuma is the MAN! What a calm, friendly disposition he has and he is SO good at what he does. I really enjoyed seeing my scalp through the microscope before and after the treatment so I could see the improvement. The Japanese products feel and smell so good! Absolutely life changing. I've been searching for a place that does scalp massages after going to a salon where the hairdresser washes your hair- it felt great but I didn't know how to go and ask a salon to do the same thing without me actually getting my hair done. I wasn't even sure if this was an actual service that was offered until I did my research and found Sayuri! I used to get massages twice a month and wouldn't ever feel fully satisfied. They'd always ask me where I wanted them to target, I always said my scalp and neck. They never got into it as deep as the salons did either. When I found this place, my life seriously changed. My head felt 10 pounds lighter. I carry all my stress and tension in my head and after my first session, I slept like a BABY. I seriously don't write yelp reviews anymore but this is well deserved and this spot needs way more attention for the quality of work that Sayuri does. First of all, I want to say Sayuri is the most genuine amazing person. I have been getting blow drys from her for a couple years. She is great at styling my hair, I mostly get loose waves, and it can last me up to a week. She has been known to give the best shampoo and head massage! When she opened her own Headspa, I knew I had to try it out. I've gone twice now and I'm going for my third today! It is really amazing, I have gotten two different services so far. She does Japanese Scalp Treatments, which are very common in Japan at places called Headspas. It's all about cleaning and rebalancing the PH levels of the scalp, great for hair growth. They see it as a facial for your scalp and basically the way to have good hair is a good scalp. Its a good addition to a blowdry for someone like me who doesn't wash my hair very often and uses dry shampoo daily. Then the second time I went, we did a more deluxe session, which she combined Indian Ayurvedic​ Scalp Treatments. That was really incredible. She used something called Shirodhara, it's a brass hanging cone that pours hot oil on your forehead. It's literally the most relaxing meditative experience. The oil drips down your hair and waterfalls off making relaxing dripping noises. Then she follows it with the Japanese​ scalp cleaning. I highly suggest you try this out, especially if you already get blow drys regularly. Consider that you get a blow dry in a salon or dry bar it's $45-$85, then this upgraded service is absolutely worth the price. You get a private room, an incredible head massage that you feel she's pulling all the stress out of the top of your head and it's actually really important to your scalp. Another thing! Sayuri showed me before and after results from doing a regular headspa treatment. Since our scalps can be getting poor circulation and basically clogged "pores," your scalp can get saggy and that cause face wrinkles. After the head spa massage, my head was so light like 50%! It tells you that the tension accumulated from daily life was greatly reduced thanks to her hands. She used a special machine to show me the hair follicle so I was able to see how much dirt was removed, and it was very interesting to see before/after. The dirt can block the hair growth, so it is a great opportunity to feel totally relaxed and also clean the follicle for hair growth. I am a face yoga instructor, so understand that scalp massage helps lift up the face too. It would be interesting to see the face before/after too. I finally made it to Sayuri after saving her profile years ago. I had been receiving regular Shirodhara treatments back in NY for years and I wasn't able to find anyone in LA who performed this treatment which was a shocker. If you have never had Shirodhara before, I urge you to try it. It's like no other treatment and you will feel like a million bucks. Its an Ayurvedic treatment that uses warm oil that drips directly on your third eye and is also drizzled in your hair. Once the oil is fully poured on your head, you receive the most heavenly head massage that you never knew you needed. Trust me, you need it! I went recently and it was my first time having such a service. It was incredible. (I first became familiar with head spa through watching YouTube videos of head spas in Japan -- shoutout to ASMR Twix!) In part I went because I have experienced some issues with my hair and scalp in recent months, and I was hoping to get to the root (pun not *not* intended) of the problem -- but when Sayuri used the microscope to look at my scalp, she showed me how my scalp looks quite healthy. While this didn't answer why I've experienced hair fall, I truly appreciate her honesty. I wasn't being misled or sold anything; she wasn't convincing me I needed more treatment or anything like that. The massage/acupressure was thorough and relaxing. I've had body massages before but never a scalp massage, and I had some reservations about spending money for such a focused/targeted treatment -- but let me tell you, my entire body felt relaxed during this treatment. The best I can describe it is that I left the head spa quite literally feeling lighter, and this feeling lasted for hours. I'm hoping the scalp stimulation will lead to some hair regrowth but even if not, it was such an amazing massage experience that it was completely worth it. A major plus: before my appointment I received a text with detailed directions regarding how to find the location as well as the best parking option for free 2 hour parking.
