They say, you only have one time or a split second to make the slightest negative action or anything close to it, and people will talk about it, even go to the extent of trying to shame the person or the company by writing a negative review. Since most good or positive actions go unnoticed, let me shake a few of the negative comments up, about this barbershop, with a positive comment. I have seen some good actions in "the shop" and some not so good actions in "the shop." Not all of these actions are from the barbers. Headz Up Barbershop houses about 14 barbers, who all have a decent, to high clientele. "The shop" has about 4-5 television screens, inside, that surrounds it. I say that to say, depending on the time or day that you visit, Headz Up can be a bit active at times. Discussions are had between the barbers, from, talking about their night out, making bets on professional games, or even discussing their families. I understand that I'm in a predominantly male environment and "guys will be guys" so, I am not too bothered by conversation and lingo used within the shop, most of the times, I can "chime in" on a few of the conversations. Sometimes, "adult conversations and/or profanity do slip, amongst a child's presence but, even I know that the owner of the barbershop does not allow that, and the barbers have no problem respecting that rule (even if it wasn't a rule), by apologizing when the action is noticed. Parents are always bringing their children to Headz Up, to get a haircut, most of the times they end up being returning customers. I have actually seen kids grow up, over the years of getting my hair cut at Headz Up. I have seen parents discipline their kids, for not cooperating with the barbers and I have also seen parents sit in the chair, with their child in their lap, trying everything like a video on a mobile device or giving them candy, to assist the barber with a decent cut for the child. Sometimes, the barbers, themselves, will have a candy or toy, to make the child comfortable, during their hair cut. I have been going to Headz Up Barbershop for at least 20yrs now (following them when they moved from Sharpstown Mall) and I have no complaints. Out of the 20yrs, Walt has been my barber for at least 15 of those years and I cannot even attempt to let anyone else in my head with clippers. When I first started going to Headz Up, I liked the fact that I was asked specifics on how I LIKE MY HAIR before and during my cut. Shortly after being a "new customer/client, I became "like family," now, when I sit in the chair, I'm asked no questions, Walt can just start cutting or I'm asked, "What are we doing today," or "What are we doing to your hair today?" just in case I'm going through a phase with my hair. No matter where I have moved to, around Houston, I will "make that drive," to Headz Up, to get my hair cut, every week. Now, my daughter is included in my weekly appointments. Overall, I am forever grateful with services that caters to ME and includes, good energy, a decent environment, and great conversation. I refer all my family and friends to him or to any other barber, in that shop, that I think cuts good, provides good service, and caters to the individual's needs. read more
