I have lived at Oak Creek for 4 years now and would highly recommend these apartments. It is a wonderful place to live and is safe, clean, quiet, and well-maintained. Kaleena, Audrey, and David (property manager, leasing consultant, and maintenance) are all very kind and helpful. They truly care about their residents and making Oak Creek a nice place to live. Anytime I have had questions or maintenance needs they have been addressed quickly and thoroughly. I have rented many places and this has been by far the best experience. This is a freakin' lovely apartment complex to live. I've come to expect the bare minimum from other locations - but the staff and location here are fantastic. They give us little treat on holidays, and maintenance (thanks Josh!) is super responsive (like, typically same-day) and helpful when you've got a clogged drain or something. Rent was some of the cheapest in the area at the time, which made it an even sweeter deal. Community is in a great location with lots of places to walk and see nature. Lots of other good stuff is a quick drive away. Only downside (not a big one imo) - some of the apartments are not 'fully renovated' and still have some weird carpet going on. We were lucky enough to get all wood floors, but this might bother some. Would have been just as happy either way. read more

Oak Creek is at the foot of Annadel and the views are really beautiful. We are in a little canyon, under the trees. My experience at Oak Creek has been stellar. I lived through a management change from one owner to a new owner. Our experience with the previous owners was great and it continues with the new team. In particular, we have had fair treatment and competant, expedient service from the Manager, Kaleena. She is pleasant to talk to and has her finger on the pulse at Oak Creek. I've lived in a quite a few apartments and this was hands down my best experience. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive (we often spoke with Kaleena who is great). They leave frequent resident appreciation and holiday gifts/ notes. The grounds are kept nice and maintenance (Josh) always came the same day that we notified the office of any concerns (even when minor). The office is extremely receptive and when we had one issue with some neighbors' ongoing fighting, the office responded right away and we didn't hear the neighbors again. The only negative I can think of is that the water is expensive (and the apartments already aren't cheap). I have also seen some people complain about the particle wood in the kitchen being cheap, which is true, however I didn't think it drastically took away from the nice appearance of the apartment. We also got back most of our deposit and they were completely fair and kind in the process, which is rare. If we had stayed in Santa Rosa longer than one year I would have renewed my lease here! read more

I wish I had checked reviews on this place before signing a lease!!! I was shown a very nice apartment by the property manager, very nice counters, new cabinetry, new carpets. I made the mistake of assuming that our apartment would be similar... I was very wrong. Now, I fear I'm locked into a 10 month lease for an apartment with old counters, really cheesy (and very tatty) particle board cabinetry with unfinished edges. The sliding closet doors are painted, not mirrored like the apartment I was shown. Overall, this apartment is lacking the "luxury" I saw in the apartment shown and in the park like grounds. I feel like a used car salesman's victim; classic bait and switch. I am seeking legal counsel and will update this review with how the property manager handles this. Right now I would have to recommend going elsewhere to find yourself a home. There were nicer places than the unit we got for 2-400 dollars a month less. I expected luxury for what we are paying, not mediocrity. Very disappointed. Hopefully the property manager will try to make this right. (Fingers crossed) read more

Lived here 2015-2016, and only got in to Oak Creek because someone else's credit check fell through. I waited until we got our deposit check before leaving a review. Glancing at the poor reviews, it looks like people have high expectations for cabinetry and are annoyed by the costs. However, I had a very positive experience here. From the move in (staff gave us flyers/info about the apartments and took the time to explain everything), to when we needed something done (staff had maintenance out within 24 hours, sometimes same day even though it wasn't an emergency), to the professionalism upon move out (they were pleased with how well we cleaned it and we got the bulk of our deposit back with all charges clearly detailed), Oak Creek staff have done a great job. On holidays, and upon move-in, these people leave bags of candy for residents! At my current apartments (I moved to a new city) we are lucky to even get a response to requests for maintenance and it's clear that management could care less. You feel valued at Oak Creek. The apartments themselves are higher quality than most, except for the cabinetry, which is cheap particle board. But the carpets are nice, no funny smells, good natural light, and beautiful greenery surrounding the place. The windows/walls are decent quality (our windows looked pretty new) and block most sounds from neighbors. When we complained about neighbors having a yelling match to management, they immediately responded and we never heard those neighbors yelling again. To be fair, you pay for this level of living. A lot. We paid high pet rent monthly and the water bill never dipped below $80/month, and oftentimes was $90-$100. I suspect the constant night-sprinklers running fall on residents to cover throughout the year, otherwise how do you explain such high water costs? Another thing was was really frustrating was the window unit air conditioner, which did not cool down the apartment in the hottest days of summer. Who doesn't have central air these days? But having said that, we were treated well, staff were very professional and fair, and our neighborhood felt safe, secure, and just had good vibes. In the end, we felt like it was worth it to pay a bit extra to live in such a nice complex and be treated well by management. AND to get most of our deposit back when we worked hard to clean it. I've dealt with several management places that create overblown cleaning charges to avoid returning the deposit. We loved it here and were shocked to see how low some of the ratings have been from other residents. I would definitely recommend this place due to the nice neighborhood, comfort of living, and professionalism of staff. Believe me, I now pay the same price for an apartment that smells of smoke, has badly patched walls, is older and not renovated, and management doesn't care about us our our maintenance needs (we had to move quickly due to jobs in the East Bay and didn't have many options). I called inquiring about a two bedroom apartment for 1350 a month..as I asked about the apartment i was told there was a typo on the ad and the price was actually 1650 a month..I had already Yelp this business and found they have horrible ratings but the price was right at 1350 in Rincon Valley for 2 bedroom..buyer beware bait and switch read the real reviews..not worth it there should be an option on Yelp for 0 .. thanks again Yelp this is my way of helping others stay away from bad business:) read more

Oak Creek use to be a five star when it was under original ownership & management. The owner Laura was awesome, John was amazing, & Mark was so friendly! If we ever had a problem they were right on top of it & really made sure you were enjoying living there. Every once in awhile you would cross paths with either of them and they always said hello and smiled. Really made you enjoy living there. Unfortunately, the complex was sold to a company that came in and just had a horrible vibe. The woman Karina is very unpleasant. My fiance & I were on a waiting list to move into a 2 bedroom with a fireplace and when we went to touch base with her she was so rude that my fiance had to walk out before he said anything too rude back. They also wanted to increase the rent way higher than we were quoted and for the value of the apartments you can find way better places to live in which we did. I know not only my fiance and I moved out as soon as our lease was up but tons of others who lived in the complex did as well. I would not recommend living there under the new management. John the original leasing guy was treated so poorly by them! There was a few times I had to stop by office and she would talk down to John- who by far was one of the nicest mans i have ever met- He had been working there well over 15 years. I was even told that they were not allowed to answer questions if you were applying for another place to live and the new landlord called to check your references to see if you were a good tenant. Luckily I caught John and he called my current landlord from his own cell. lastly, when moving out I spent 3 days scrubbing and cleaning and I even scheduled an appointment with Karina herself to come and do the final walk through- so out of my busy schedule I got there the last day on time and of course she was not there..walked to the office..no one was there...called & left a message and a few hours later got a call. Corporate run. The apartments were completed in 1983. My kitchen floor tile slides out of place. I had to wait 2 weeks to get approval for an ADA toilet, bars and poles. It's too quiet. Feels like I'm still living in the barracks waiting for room inspection. In my opinion, I should have flown into town 1st to check it out for a few days instead of on the phone and one visit. I can count the cars on the freeway(which makes the most noise). There are NO disabled parking in the Apartment parking lots, but there is one for the office. Bottom line, to me moving here was a mistake, that I'm working on rectifying. I'm just tired of hearing "that's Corporate's decision." As a Disabled Veteran, it offends me... read more

They took me to collections because I refused to pay for an apartment I had professionally cleaned and they claim it's because I didn't inform them prior. No thanks avoid this place at all cost!! Btw they lost their claim with credit agencies. read more

We lived at Oak Creek for 10 months while searching for a house and were extremely happy by to find that it was quiet, friendly and professionally managed. Property Manager, Kaleena, was personable and quick to respond as was Josh who took care of maintenance. We were not used to apartment living but this was a surprisingly pleasant experience. We loved the many trees that shaded our apartment and we especially appreciated the location close to Annadel Park and yet not far from downtown Santa Rosa. Before we selected Oak Creek, we stressed how important it was for us to live in a quiet environment - our neighbors were friendly and very considerate, what more could one ask, I have to think this must be a reflection of Kaleena and a property well managed. read more

I've been living here for a couple of months now and I'm really pleased. It's a lovely quiet area - near to Safeway and the parks. There are lots of trees and the grounds are simple but well kept. The apartment is fine for a one bedroom - a nice size and good little patio overlooking trees. The management service has always been excellent, I've had a few little things happen and they've been super friendly and responsive, getting things sorted in no time. read more

I Wish I could give this place zero stars. I would never recommend this apartment complex to anyone. The staff at the leasing office are unprofessional and the maintenance guy is a complete "Creep". There is nothing luxurious about those apartments almost everything is broken the ovens are shitty, the dishwasher is nasty and the garbage disposal smells like something died in it. This place is hands down the worst place I've ever lived they shouldn't be changing so much money for rent there because it isn't worth it at all you must be paying for all the Ants in the kitchen too. You might as well play Russian roulette everyday because pulling out unto high way twelve is such a nightmare sometimes you'll be waiting up to 10mins just to get out. It's just a filthy place that I regret moving to and I'm so happy I moved outta that dump. Trust me you will regret moving into this place. Also these people had the Audacity to lie that we broke some stupid shelf that was broken when we moved in and there creeper maintenance guy came in with a new one to fix it but couldn't. This is a great place to live! The grounds are beautiful, with lots of trees, flowers, and a community garden. The property manager, Kaleena, is great! Whenever we had any concerns or issues, she promptly handled them appropriately and effectively. Josh in maintenance always did a good job. The Oak Creek Apartment complex was sold six months ago to another company. They have tried to modify the complex and as a result they have increased the rent of all apartments. The same strategy with HOA fee and special fees for special maintenance. I am going to move out because of this rent increase. I have found a couple of places with the same quality and $200-400 cheaper rent. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi All ... I wrote the above review two months ago and moved out the apartment because of the rent increase. Now, just wanted to share my experience after I moved out. I paid $450 to the previous management as my security deposit and I was waiting to receive it back after I moved out. I just received a letter from Oak creek that they charged me cleaning fee, utility fee, carpet fee, paint fee, etc. Not only they didn't send me any money, they asked me to pay more! Really?! To put this situation in perspective, actually, I moved seven times in the past five years and I "always" got my security deposit "in full" because I try not to even put a nail in the rental place's walls. I (or my guests) never came to the house with shoes and I never had any pet. These are just a couple of examples so you can figure out how they treat you when you move out even if you are a clean person. As a customer, I was not happy with the new management, especially Kaleena when I was renting the place as well as after moving out. I DON'T recommend the place to my friends on Yelp. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey All, Just wanted to give you an update on my security deposit. I went to the oak creek apartment to disagree with the charges and ask for a refund. Guess what?? they asked me to leave! Otherwise, they call a police!!!!!!! Previously, they told me because of a small black dot in front of the entrance door, they replaced the whole carpet of the living room and they are charging me a portion of the carpet replacement ($150). BUT, they actually replaced the entrance location with HARDWOOD!! They lied to me to get more money after I moved out. How comfortable are you with this kind of managements? It seems that they usually remodel a house after the old tenant goes out (to justify their luxury name). If they don't, how can they rent it out the place $200-400 more than other places? Friends ...
