Unfortunately, the facility has hit a bit of a decline lately. What used to be impeccably dry, clean floors are now prone to dust and hairballs, and it's gotten so wet in the wet sauna areas that they've just started putting out "caution" signs instead of actually keeping it dry. I've seen quite a few people slip. Even the "unlimited" towel perk has been downgraded to a strict two-towel limit, and the food portions and quality have shrunk exponentially compared to the cost they charge it at. That being said, there is one major saving grace: the Korean auntie who does the body scrubs. She is an absolute legend and deserves a massive raise for everything she puts up with! She's the main reason the experience still feels somewhat authentic and worth driving to. The rooms are also on the smaller side, so if you go during peak hours, it's definitely more "crowded" than "calm." Honestly, the only reason I still make the trip is that it's the only K-spa within a reasonable driving distance from Boston. If there were more local options, I'd probably skip the decline here and head straight to NJ or NYC for a higher-quality experience. It's still a decent option if you're desperate for a scrub and a soak without the four-hour drive, but I really miss the high standards they had at the beginning.

It's OK, I figured it out pretty quickly, but it might've been nice considering they were not busy at the front desk. I lived in Korea and have experienced authentic Korean bathhouses. This is not it, but I appreciate that the space exists and all different kinds of people were utilizing it.

The cons for me would be the parking, and the over booking, people were struggling to find places for their robes and cups. My husband and I checked in and was greeted by a friendly staff member who told us our locker number. Then, another staff member told us what we would find in our locker and about the water journey. The locker room was very clean and spacious. I put on my robe on top of my bathing suit and sandals and headed to the water journey space with my reusable water cup. The water journey space includes: 98° Bodhi Glow Mineral Pool, 104° Bodhi Restore Mineral Pool, eucalyptus steam room, cold plunge, full spectrum infrared sauna, traditional finnish dry sauna, and a relaxation area. The Water Journey is 2 hours and 30 minutes and we spent pretty much the full time in the space. There were probably 14 people total in the space at the same time, but it didn't feel crowded. Also, everyone honored the whisper policy and no one was obnoxiously loud. At one point, the staff came around with cold towels. As our time was almost up, we headed to each of our locker rooms and took a shower. The shower had body soap, shampoo, and conditioner. There was also a bathing suit spinner that dries the water out of the swim suit. The water journey was definitely worth $85.00. I had such a relaxing time and can't wait till next time. Reservations do fill up, so I definitely recommend making your reservation sooner than later.

Second Visit - Went With the Full Zen Therapy This Time and Loved It…read more This was my second visit to Lotus Head Spa in Cranston, and once again, it was an incredible experience. I booked the Zen Head Therapy both times, but during my first visit I asked them to skip the facial portion and just focus on the head and upper body massage. This time, I told them to go with the full standard treatment--and I'm so glad I did. The facial portion wasn't just skincare. It was part of the whole sensory experience--alternating between warm and cool sensations, soft and firm touches, all while wearing a heated eye mask that blocks out everything visually. Being blindfolded in that way made every sensation feel more amplified and immersive. There were moments I felt those relaxing tingles running down my spine and through my legs, all the way to my toes. Everyone was fantastic. I went with a wedding group, because we had a tiny, TINY, wedding... and everyone was just more than accommodating. I was gonna get a manicure/pedicure, because getting your hand and feet all scrubbed up & shaped sounded pretty good. And then everyone was like "my massage was great", so then I was like, well, I don't wanna feel left out, and got one. And then "my facial was great", and I got that too. Basically I went in thinking I was gonna get my hands and feet done, and ended up saying: well, lets just go with the whole shabang. I don't do this every week... or month... or year... or ever. So, when in... Johnston, do what you gotta do. It was worth every penny... not like the wedding was super stressful or anything, but it made me feel perfectly baseline for the next day.
