First time coming here with a Groupon for a 90 minute massage for myself and my wife. I had Kirk and my wife had William. The room was set up very relaxing with music and aromatherapy upon arrival. Kirk explained what he was going to do and asked if I had any ailments within the body. He offered to put on the heating pad and keep the fan going, which was a nice touch throughout the Massage. Kirk was very respectful and made sure to cover up whatever area wasn't being worked on. He asked about the pressure and my comfortability which was a nice added touch. You start on your back, face up and then progress to being on your stomach. The nice added touch of the hot stones almost put me to sleep. We chatted for about 10 minutes during the massage, which was pretty interesting to learn what I did. Communication was exceptional from booking to getting the massage. Groupon's are only valid once within 12 months, but I will definitely come back again because the professional and therapeutic massage was exceptional. read more

Run, don't walk, to Healing Hands Massage. There is no exaggeration when I say these were the two best massages of my life. The masseuse from my first visit some years ago is no longer there (though she was phenomenal), but I recently went back to see Kirk Scarlet this time, and I don't know why I wasn't back sooner! I went in after suffering for a couple weeks with a seized up muscle in my back and neck, and Kirk worked his magic and had me back to new with one session. This may be surprising, but I really appreciated that he did not ask me what pressure I like, and rather used his knowledge and intuition while reminding me to let him know if it was too much. This is important to me because he was able to change the pressure to meet the different needs of different parts of my body, and I think I benefited much more from this technique over other places where you just get the same pressure across the board. You can imagine how riddled her body is with pain. My mom called me immediately after her massage and I heard an elation in her voice that I have never heard before. While in Hartford on business I twisted a muscle in my neck/shoulder area. Far from home and in pain I knew I needed some serious help if I was going to make it through the next several days of meetings. Helping Hands was offering a deal on another website so I checked it out. Kirk Scarlett is a licensed massage therapist who takes his business seriously. I spoke with him over the phone to explain my situation and to confirm he could see me that evening -- not a problem. He provided me with directions and landmarks to find him as he knew I was not familiar with the area. The therapy takes place in a quiet, serene room off to the side of a space that also offers hair salon service and even tattoos. Kirk spent the time to confirm I was in otherwise good health, my previous massage experiences, and gave me a chance to express any concerns I might have had . . . The room was clean with soft music playing . . . You could on occasion hear some noise from the business being conducted nearby but nothing jarring or that detracted from the experience. There is a bell set up on the side of the table within easy reach so you can let him know when you are positioned correctly and covered on the table and he can come in and being the massage. Kirk made sure that the pressure was not too hard and was able to notice any flinches I had due to discomfort and he would adjust accordingly. He made suggestions on how to care for myself back at the hotel to assist in healing as well. Unfortunately, even a great therapeutic massage is not going to instantly cure the problem but I could tell immediately that the muscles had started to relax. By the time I got into the car to return to NYC a few days later I had almost full rotation of my neck back. My only regret is that I am unable to return. I can say that if work or life ever takes me back to Hartford I will most certainly find the time to make another appointment. read more

After all, I wasn't in any particular pain. But from the moment masseuse William Fairley began to work his magic, I didn't want the hour to ever end. With a skillful, firm (but never TOO firm) touch, he got me to relax and release years of tension and stress. He relieved pain I hadn't realized I had. I immediately made up my mind to go regularly from now on. Frivolous? No. It is suddenly a necessity -- a luxury I can no longer live without. I bought a Groupon to here and it expired. I emailed the place to ask if I could still it use because according to Groupon it says your money will never expire. However I was told my money was obsolete and I'd be charged a "$39 rescheduling fee" in order to cash in this service. That's a terrible way to conduct business! I have no idea about what type of service this company provides. Except that the method of booking online is a complete joke. First mistake... I call to book a massage. Kirk answers and says that I have to book online. There is availability today, but I must wait for my request to be accepted. Second mistake... I go ahead and pre-pay for the massage and send my online request. Third mistake... A few minutes later I get an email that states that my request was denied. WTF?!?! I already paid, and Kirk said there was availability! The generic email doesn't even try to give any type of explanation or alternative time that would be available. Just denied. That's it. My husband gave me a Groupon for a 1-hour massage. Making an appointment was super-easy...I used their website to schedule it. All you have to do is pick a time slot, enter your info, and voila: email confirmation! The office is located in a large building in a fairly quiet neighborhood (well, it was snowing so no one was really out). Kirk made me feel right at home. He is friendly and approachable. Soothing music was playing and several lit candles made for a relaxing atmosphere. The massage was fantastic. I was sore in areas I didn't even know I had! I could have easily stayed another hour.
