I don't usually review nail salons because they tend to offer services of similar quality but I'm making an exception for this place. It's hands down the best pedicure I've gotten in the greater Hartford area. The cleanliness and amazing music/ cute setup aside, what really drew my attention was the level of care with which my pedicure was performed. He paid thorough attention to my heel along with my cuticles and all the products used were incredibly moisturizing and smelled heavenly. TLDR: go here, you won't be disappointed!! The service is excellent, pricing is reasonable, plenty of parking, and the location is impeccably clean. I am going to start this off by explaining that my feet were jankey. At my last job, I worked outside and on my feet for 12h shifts. Nothing I tried at home provided long term relief for how jacked up my feet had gotten. Like to the point that I'd shower, scrub the hell out of my feet, and they'd look like I didn't wash them at all. I was beyond frustrated. My friend so enthusiastically recommended this place that I quickly made an appointment. The gentleman who took my call was so polite on the phone and patently answered my million and one questions about all they offer. They don't have a website and don't post to Facebook regularly. So here is the meat and potatoes!! I got a basic manicure and a spa pedicure. I wanted all the extra bells and whistles they had to deal with my feet. So, this adorable woman (who could have been any one of my childhood classmates sweet grandmother!) greeted me and had me select a color before showing me to my seat. She switched places with a gentleman who I assume is her husband. I explained about my job and how my feet got so out of order. He just smiled (I could tell from his eyes as everyone here was masked up!) and sweetly said "that's ok, don't worry". As if he appreciated ending his day with a challenge. Like he was not going to be bested by some little dry heels today. He was on some "Not today Satan, not today" kind of mindset!!! Y'all.... when I say this was the most involved pedicure I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying!!! You still get the regular stuff but it's the small touches that blew me out of the water, so to speak lol. They have these little kits that don't look like much at first glance but it's actually nice product! You get a choice of orange, lemon, or cucumber. I went with cucumber. He exfoliated my calves and feet, added a little callous remover, wrapped everything up with saran wrap, hot towels, and a plastic bag. Then had me soak in the hot water for a few. Now I'm here watching astounded that this isn't a minimum standard for pedicures everywhere. Like the level of care and gentleness and we're not halfway through yet. Why doesn't everyone get this?! So now he pulls out one foot at a time for a scrub. I was not prepared for the intensity with which this man works! I was not prepared to see the level of dedication and determination with which he worked to find my feet again. I was not prepared for the amount of elbow grease he put in. And to top it off he made it look so easy. Like it was a simple flick of the wrist. Like your little at home foot spa don't got nothing on this technique! When I say miracle worker!! Cuz for the amount of work compared to the money spent. Baybee, I got a bargain!!!!! So then he moisturizes my calves and feet, additionally using a hot stone (which was a nice surprise because they said on the phone that they don't do hot stone). He also put some orange jelly stuff on my heels. My feet felt brand new when he was done. NEW FEET, WHO DIS!!! I could rave about the pedicure for ages, obviously. The manicure was standard. What I appreciated is his gentleness. My fingernails grow very weird. I've gotten annoyed trying to maintain them on my own, so I just trim them as needed. But I had found a look on Pinterest that I really liked. I showed him the picture and he did not fail me! He was so patient with shaping my nails just how I wanted and getting the little touch of sparkle right. I just appreciated the level of care that was shown to me. Listen, long story short, my feet look and feel amazing!! I have not stopped rubbing them together and touching them lol. There is still a little discoloration on an area that had a really hard callous before, I think another session with this gentleman and that will be completely gone! I don't think I'll be going anywhere else. I'm not big on getting my nails done since I usually pick the simplest designs and don't do gels or acrylics, but I like knowing a good place to go when I do want to treat myself to the experience. I went here for the first time for a pedicure on a Tuesday around 2:30. It was decent but nothing great... and most likely due to the technician I had. She was younger and just seemed to not want to be here. Pros: gentleman who took the appointment was very friendly. Plenty of parking, inside is bright and clean, pedicure chair was comfortable. Cons: limited colors for a pedicure, I struggled to find a light pink. No prices posted or "menu" of pedicures so it seems like they have just one and it was $35. She wasn't very thorough and I found it odd she was scrubbing callouses after only being in the water for 10 seconds so it kind of hurt. Overall wouldn't come back. read more

I literally asked my nail tech twice to apply more pressure because all she was doing was rubbing lotion into my feet and legs (also told the owner) and NOTHING improved. This is by far the BEST nail salon I have been to in Connecticut. I've grown up in nail salons my whole life. I've had family members who worked and owned salons, so you can say I know a thing or two of how the standard should be. This salon is incredibly clean and the service is always wonderful. The couple who runs this salon puts so much care and effort into every customer who walks through their door. Their manicures and pedicures are truly a treat. I love that they include hot stone and paraffin wax to the experience. It's the small things. I try to get my nails done at least once a month - and thankfully my nails always keep for a long time after an appointment with them! It helps that I get a gel manicure each time - but even then they do all the work by hand. No short cuts here. They make sure every line is painted on which such care. This is the kind of businesses we need to be supporting, especially during this time! An incredible nail salon - I'm always blown away by their attentiveness and patience. PRO TIP: book an appointment in advance, sometimes they can get pretty busy. When you get a manicure, they will take care of your cuticles, and for the base polish they'll drop a bit of polish on there and pull out a tiny brush to apply it slowly and evenly. Each layer is then done with plenty of care. I was there for over an hour and a half getting a mani & pedi, and there was someone working on my nails during the entire time! They work very very hard, and my manicures/pedicures always last for months and I don't have an issue with chipping (I get gel). The facilities are clean and don't have a strong smell. I've been here 5+ times by now, and every single person has been just as careful as the previous. I always make sure to leave a good tip because they do such a good job - and it's tiring work I'm sure! read more

Just got a beautiful dip manicure here!! I was looking for a new salon that does dip powder because my other favorite salon does not do dip. The price was very reasonable and I am beyond satisfied with my nails!! Although it did take 1.5 hour for just my nails, the woman was very thorough which I appreciate. They look amazing!! My girlfriend and I visited on March 26th, 2019 (a Tuesday afternoon). We had called in advanced for two pedicures around 4pm. The salon was very accommodating and got us in promptly. Technicians were very friendly and made great conversation. What impressed me the most was how SPOTLESS this place was. It is very apparent that they make cleanliness a priority as each person is given sanitized tools and the tubs are disinfected before and after each client. I mean spotless people, the uv lights for nails had no sign of stray polish from nicks or chips in wet nails. A previous reviewer mentioned them not having a great selection of colors and I would have to disagree, I think they had way more than enough and I'm usually picky! I found a color I loved within 5 minutes. Price was around $35 each person but it seemed very well worth it with all of the treatments being done including hot stone and warm towel. The technicians spent quite a bit of time carefully (and gently) tending to cuticles and heels of our feet. This is especially important since I can't stress how many times I've had ripped or bleeding cuticles because of people being too rough. So I appreciated the attention to detail. Our toes and feet look great and we can't wait to come back! Update: 9/14/19 Another amazing experience here! Came in to get a gel manicure or (shellac manicure) and was again blown away at how meticulous and diligent my tech was. Pleasant conversation and even remembers me from months ago when I came in. It's such a treat to not only have a pedicure but you also get a foot scrub, foot and calf massage, hot stone massage, AND a hot towel. Another bonus is they accept credit cards not only for payment but also for tips. With COVID-19 I would recommend scheduling an appointment. I went for a mani and pedi on a Monday afternoon and was able to walk-in and get it done. Pink did my nails and the salon was empty it was only the 2 of us and was amazing! She is super gentle and very pleasant, the music was nice and relaxing I think it was the first time I go to a nail salon and was able to relax and enjoy my mani and pedi. Nail salons are usually busy and very loud this one was quiet and peaceful! I paid a little more for my nail polish (CND vinylux) but was totally worth it! The Nail Gallery is my favorite spot to get my nails done in West Hartford. Not only is it next to my favorite wine shop - West Side Wine & Spirits (#twobirdsonestone :)) - when you walk in you feel like you are automatically transported to a different world. A world of relaxation. Every time I walk in it is quite, clean, and very comfortable. They decorated in a way that evokes "spa like vibes" and when I go to get any beauty treatment done that is the vibe I prefer. All of the tools are sterilized and everything is very clean. I feel very comfortable and confident when they are working on my nails. Everyone is so nice and very good at their job. Had such a great experience here this past weekend. My previous gel mani had chipped (the edge of the gel got caught, which it's not supposed to do) and I wanted a fresh coat before a get together with friends. The place was quiet for a Sunday morning so they were able to take me right away and even had the gel colors ready at a station because I had called ahead. The salon is so clean and simply decorated. I noticed that the ladies who worked there kept their voices quiet, as another reviewer had mentioned, which really helps with the whole "feeling ridiculously relaxed" vibe. I ended up being there for almost an hour which I didn't expect for just a gel mani. Part of that was taking off what was left of my previous mani, but a big part of it was that they took their time painting the nails so, wait for it, there are no gel edges that stick out! I noticed that they use a smaller brush to spread the base coat and first color coat, which made the polish more closely adhere to my nails. Really nice touch. Oh and a little shoulder massage while my gels were curing didn't hurt either! My mani is FLAWLESS and I love it. The ladies here are so sweet, the decor is calm and modern, there's a great selection of gel colors...I won't think twice to come here next time I'm in town. HIGHLY recommend! read more

The location has great parking. It's super clean inside and the staff is always so friendly and welcoming. *UPDATE* Shortly after my original review, the owner, Jae, reached out and apologized for the lackluster French Manicure (which I understand can be a challenging style) and offered to redo my nails. I came back in the early evening on Tuesday and was promptly helped, despite a reservation for a large group of 4 that was schedule to arrive around the same time. I'm impressed with the owner's service and will visit again to find my favorite nail technician. --- ORIGINAL REVIEW of 2 stars--- Got a mani/pedi done here on a Saturday afternoon and was not impressed with the French manicure. There was one nail technician who seemed to be the fastest so she ended up taking care of most of the clients that came through. The hot stone during the pedicure was a nice touch. What rating should I give a place where my girlfriend's pedicure was "excellent" and mine was awful? When I told her I was writing a review, she knew what I would say and asked me to "OK, but please, include that mine was great." OK...done. She clearly had the expert and I had the intern, if you can call him that. He didn't test the water before soaking my feet. In they went - #$X+@*! BOILING! His mentor was clearly appalled, but of course couldn't show it lest we bail from the place. From that moment on I couldn't focus any more on how lovely getting a pedicure was because I ptsd'd back to my student days when all my dental work was done by dental school students with a penchant for enjoying the needle a little too much. No apology. My feet were turning pink. His mentor kept eyeing him to make sure he followed at least some basic steps of proper pedicure procedure. Giving him the benefit of the doubt that perhaps burning my feet was an honest mistake, I took a deep breath, closed my eyes, turned on the massage chair and let him continue. This place had a high yelp rating and has been around for years so it's gotta get better, right? Not for me. It seemed like my guy was stumbling thru it all - not sure which tool to use, the proper order nail clipping or even that lotion is usually rinsed off before you finish. At least that's what I saw the expert do. I was happy it was over and happy to head home and dunk my feet in ice water. I'm glad my girlfriend had a fabulous experience here, but then she astutely pointed out that perhaps I shouldn't have been charged. I've been to the Nail Gallery three times for pedicures over the past couple of months, and each time it was a great experience. The salon is modern and very clean, all of the nail techs are very friendly, and the pedicure massage chairs are very new and comfy. When you arrive, you choose from a couple of different scented bath salts for the foot bath, and then they use a lotion with the same scent for the massage portion of the pedicure. Hot stone massage and paraffin wax on your heels are also included in the basic pedicure. They have a very extensive selection of polish and gel polish. They also carry CND Shellac & Vinylux, as well as OPI Infinite Shine. Great salon! read more

The pedicure was okay, a little bit too long and the massage wasn't anything special, light pressured even when I informed her that it was ok to use more pressure. The prices were a little more than what I'm use to paying. There wasn't too many color options either. read more

Stopped at the Nail Gallery for the first time this morning and had a pleasant experience. The facility is very clean and the staff is very nice. Shany did my gel manicure using a technique that I've never had done before and although it took a tad bit longer than other places I've been to they came out beautiful. I would like to advise that it seems like there can be a bit of a wait as they only have a maximum of 3 people working at a time (employee also confirmed this). They are also not over priced compared to other salons. For $32 you can get a beautiful gel manicure and a nice little shoulder massage. read more

Just had the best pedicure here! Truly amazing, relaxing, and pampering. You can choose from green tea or lavender scent, and I went with lavender. The technician was friendly and talented, and the pedicure included a great leg and foot massage, scrub, hot stones, and hot washcloths. My feet feel smooth and my toes look fancy! My total for this plus gel manicure was $67. I think the gel manicure is $32, unless there was a discount for bundling, which would make this pedicure a really great deal. They have a decent selection of regular polish and an extensive collection of gel polish. i had a gel manicure done, and two days later it was already chipping. I went back, and one of the male managers immediately took me, no questions asked and fixed 9 out of my 10 nails. Unfortunately, my gel manicure chipped again just a few days later, so I opted to not go back for gel. I still go for other services, including their thorough pedicures. read more

I showed up around 3:30 for a gel mani/pedi. There were only two women doing nails. I was told to come back in 25-30 minutes. So I left to grab a snack and came back about 20 minutes later. A woman named "Jessica" called and made an appointment at 3:50. She shows up 10 minutes late and they take her before me. I knew they were hesitant to take her because I was literally sitting right there. Jessica tells them she doesn't have time to wait and then just asks if they can take off her old gel polish. Of course they take her. So now I am NOT getting pedi and no longer getting a gel mani because I had to work at 5:30. It is now 5 and my basic clear polish manicure is drying with a slanted thumb nail. Oh and Jessica ended up getting her old gel polish off. A mani with new gel polish on.
