Tiglat was listed as a Spafinder provider on their website. He has steadfastly refused to honor the redemption of Spafinder certificates. When I called him 4 weeks ago for an appointment he boldly stated, " the redemptions are too high". He refused to honor the business relationship signed up and agreed to honor with Spafinder. He made the scapegoat of his business decision and lack of integrity. I protested, he relented a bit and offered to call me (if he had a cancellation). I have not received a call in 4 weeks. Imagine the gall to offer me a cancellation only. Then never call! I then went to Spafinder to report the rogue provider. Here is their response, verbatim: "Subject: New Customer Service Inquiry from Customer Service Inquiries We have resolved your Case CS5084449. Please see the comments for your resolution. Resolution Notes: Hello Rick, Thank you for reaching out to Spafinder Support! First of all, we are sorry for any trouble this matter may have caused you and upon research for the spa in question, the spa is active with us, and we hope it has been only a misunderstanding with them, we have reach them to reinforce our gift card redemption process and also to share them our business contact number." I advised Spafinder there was no misunderstanding and a subsequent July 29th email to Tiglat after they supposedly resolved the "misunderstanding" went unanswered to date. By now I understood integrity and a sense of fairness was never forthcoming from Healing Ki massage. Here is the current situation and it is also verbatim from Spafinder: "Case Resolved Subject: New Customer Service Inquiry from Customer Service Inquiries We have resolved your Case CS5084449. Please see the comments for your resolution. Resolution Notes: Hello Rick, Thank you for reaching out to Spafinder Support! We sincerely apologize for any trouble this matter causes you, and our management team has been informed and the spa locations have been deactivated from our website, we recommend you looking for another participating location around and make sure to call them upfront to confirm availability and your form of payment. A case has been assigned for your request: CS5084449. Need I say more, Spafinder makes it perfectly clear who is a fault here -- Tiglat. Belated review.... went for a reflexology treatment about a month ago. Tiglat is a charming, very professional person. His space is immaculate, though small. There are two rooms, one for his massages and one for the acupuncturist who works with him. The ambience is tranquil and very relaxing. I had a reflexology treatment and I enjoyed it very much. He really stimulates those pressure points and gives a lot of energy. It is both energizing and relaxing. An hour of reflexology is very different from those quickie reflex appts in the mall. I was having horrible tension headaches and after seeing a doctor I decided I needed to try ANOTHER massage because my neck and scalp was so tight. I wanted something close by my house, relatively inexpensive and obviously someone who has massage techniques that actually make a NOTICEABLE difference! I have been to countless 5 star spas all over the world and getting a good deep tissue massage is very hit or miss. I had the most expensive massage ever at what was named "the best spa in Europe" only two weeks ago and I did not feel much better in my neck and upper back...hence the dr visit. I found Tiglat on a Friday afternoon via a quick search on yelp. His reviews were amazing, prices very reasonable and I loved the fact that he had a 30 minute massage option. When I went in he was very nice and took the time out to really listen to what my problems were with my neck. I originally requested a 30 minute custom massage to push my luck to get in that afternoon and about 15 minutes in I asked to go for a full hour! He spend the full 60 minutes on my neck and back, not even bothering with the rest of my body because he knew what I needed. He used a combination of deep tissue, reflexology, hot stone and some type of stick I could feel but couldnt see. It was awesome!!! I felt so satisfied and happy at the end of my visit. What else to say but wow? It's like when you need an operation and the surgeon is confident to the point of arrogance--you know the surgery will go well. This is Tiglat, except minus that annoying arrogance, of course! You can tell right away he is so confident, from his training to his customized massage tools, that it makes you feel instantly at ease. Like you know you are in good hands. And boy, are you ever! Not to mention he is one of the most caring and welcoming people I've ever met. I saw him for a horrible flair up of radiating leg pain due to multiple herniated discs. Usually I am very protective of my body because of this, being weary someone might do more harm than good because they don't know what they're doing. Not with him. I was completely relaxed and felt safe in his hands from the start. There was never a tense moment of 'oh no, this might hurt me'. And during a time of distress, it felt really good to see someone who not only made my pain lessen, but made me relaxed as well. He really really cared about my well being and is so passionate about his work. He also has custom things like hot stones and bamboo which brings an entirely new experience. I also loved the heated table, and the plush memory foam table. I felt comfortable, secure, and felt good. For the last 6 months, I was holding on to a lot in my hip, which was affecting my lower back. And in just a few minutes toward the end of the massage, he really helped open that up. Tiglat is UH-MAZING! So three years ago, I came home from school at the University of Washington and was in desperate need of a massage. I randomly came across Healing Ki Massage and booked an appointment. It was the best massage I'd ever had! I probably only get two or three a year, but I've had enough to know which ones are terrible and which ones are great. Three years later my husband and I have moved back and I immediately wanted to go back to Tiglat. He is so attentive to what you have to say when you come in and what areas are troubling you. I have had knee surgery, shoulder injuries, tendonitis, and torn ligaments in my ankle. He makes ALL the pain go away! His place is small and peaceful, right near Moonlight and when you walk in he genuinely wants to know how you are doing and what he can do to help. He uses all natural coconut oil which he scents with an essential oil of your choice. He uses heated stones and bamboo sticks to really get those sore muscles feeling better. Just went for my first massage with Tiglat and he did such an incredible job! I am an acute care RN at a local hospital and work 12 hour shifts on my feet which takes a big toll on your body, doing a lot of walking, bending, twisting, lifting, and when I get stressed it feels like someone is twisting the right side of my neck and shoulders with a vice. I also have chronic low back pain. I went to Tiglat because a good friend gave me a gift certificate for his Signature Massage at Healing Ki. Walking into the place, I felt immediately soothed and thought, "Wow, this place is top end without being pretentious." Healing Ki is clean, understated, beautiful, and has a vibe that set my usually anxious demeanour at ease. I was greeted warmly by Tiglat, who had me fill out some paperwork (which I appreciated, because it's important for any health practitioner to know what's going on with my body and my mind). He spoke to me about which areas of my body I wanted to focus on, and what I felt I needed in terms of all-over healing. Then he explained what tools he'd be using during our massage--warmed bamboo sticks to open and soothe my muscles, hot stones, etc. He had me pick my preference of essential oils, and we got started. I got a massage starting in my second trimester and every month until my daughter was born. My last massage was 4 days before she was born. Tiglat makes you very comfortable on your side with pillows and wedges on a slightly heated table. He uses coconut oil and bamboo sticks during massages. This time I decided to use the Yelp community and the advice was spot on. I have had chronic pain in my neck, and back for several years. Every other massage place in Solana Beach/Encinitas has 1-2 reviews per entry and Healing Ki had about 45 five-star reviews, so I figured that this place was definitely worth a try. As someone with chronic low back pain, I've had many massages in my day but this one was by far the best. As many people have mentioned already, Tiglat takes the time to understand your body and your pain before beginning to work on you. So before he leaves the room I let him know that I have a few things to point out about my body -- it's a huge red flag that he doesn't initiate a consultation on a first visit. But Yelpers said he's the best and my usual gal was not available so I didn't think to put my guard up. He doesn't ask for clarification on anything I've told him about my body. So to be safe -- I reiterate to him not to touch my arms due to unresolved nerve damage and to focus on my back and legs. He asked about my presenting concerns and really listened. He also took time to explain hot stone massage to me and answer any questions. This was arguably the best 60 minutes of my life. Tension, muscle cramps, neck pain, all just melted away. The effects have lasted for a couple of weeks, and I am going again tomorrow. It is worth every penny. He's personable, professional, confirms appointments days in advance, lets you know when there is an opening, etc. I literally had to book ONE MONTH in advance to finally get this long awaited massage. I opted for the Signature massage of 75 minutes and it was so nice! He used a combination of techniques from thai massage (stretching) to hot stones to deep tissue to Swedish massage (therapeutic). He also used organic coconut oil and essential oils. Very soothing and relaxing. I had a lot of tension build up in my neck and shoulders, and he spent a lot of time getting those knots out.
