I came to Sunny's spa for my second, Aescape (AI massage), I was greeted with a warm welcome from the spa attendant. I had booked a 60 minute full body massage. I was the first appointment of the day and no one else was in the spa. Upon entering the AI massage room, everything look clean and orderly. The AI machine had remembered my music taste however, all my settings that were mentioned that would be saved were not and I had to re-Adjust them before starting (but that took only a minute and not a big deal at all) . The massage was good. I was hoping by the second time I would feel less lightheaded, but laying face down for a full 60 minutes is a bit too long for me, (I think 45 minutes might be better). The massage itself was great though and relaxing. After my massage, I headed up to the pool area (you are able to use the pool if you place a service over 45 mins long) and found a lounge chair around 11 AM. I ordered lunch from my lounge chair 11:30 getting their tacos, they were wonderful. I asked for them to be grilled not fried and they happily obliged. Great service both at the spa and pool area. The pool has a beautiful ocean view. It was a little on the busy side only because it was spring break, but I was still able to have an open lounge chair and there was space to hang out in the hot tub and the pool area with without it being too crowded. The restaurant right off the pool is absolutely adorable. Cute little themed areas are so tastefully done for small groups. The Seabird hotel is gorgeous!! I love the nautical feel throughout. It is very nicely decorated. After spending about two hours in the pool area, I headed back down to Sunny's Spa and enjoyed the amenities that were provided there. They have a beautiful large sauna, cold mist area, waiting area with a gorgeous ocean view and light snacks & beverages. I give the experience a 10 out of 10. read more

I booked a deep tissue massage expecting a treatment focused on relieving muscle tension and working on deeper layers of muscle. Instead, the session was centered more on removing my "energy," and involved mostly being rubbed with oil rather than receiving what I would consider a deep tissue massage. The massage cost over $200, so I expected the service to match what was advertised. In my experience, it did not. If you're looking for an energy-focused treatment, this may be a good fit. However, if you're specifically looking for a traditional deep tissue massage, my experience did not match that expectation. read more

The spa here is really cute. They have adorable merchandise and the place itself is bright and open and clean. They have a few amenities included which I got to enjoy. The sauna and steam shower were great. My service was also really nice. Nicole was gentle during my facial and I left with glowing skin. My issue lies with some simple things that are overlooked. When people leave their cups of water or tea, no one comes to clean it up. I was there for 3 hours and used cups were never picked up and dirty towels were piling up. I was canceled the first time I booked, and Marissa was very helpful and set me up with a new appointment. The spa area is impeccably clean, and lovely. David, and the others working at the spa check in were great! There's lot of nice gifts beautifully displayed. There are unique items like handmade jewelry, made by a local artisan, candles, beauty products, and much more. The hair and nail areas are very clean and welcoming. Linda did my pedicure. She did an outstanding job. This was probably the best pedicure I've had. Linda was friendly and professional. I'm very happy with the service I received, and I will be back! FINALLY! Oceanside has a local day spa that's worth going to! I'm so excited about this place. Location. The Spa is located in The Seabird hotel on the second floor. Ambiance. + Once you walk in you're greeted with a nice airy / open feel facing the beach. + The seating area is cute and quaint fitting about 6 seats total. Each seat has its own little end table for your drink (and book or magazine) and is separated with a curtain. + There are ~4 private shower / dressing rooms! It's pretty awesome knowing you have your own space / privacy! + the Coed / shared space is amazing, but I think they should put up a glass with a privacy screen for the misting shower thingy. Otherwise the sauna and heated benches are cool. It's the perfect way to connect with a loved one - which some spas lack. Kudos to Sunny's on this one! Parking. + Free valet (there's also complimentary valet when you eat at the restaurant as well. Some things to note.. - There is only 1 (coed) toilet.. - There are no q-tips, so bring your own if you plan to shower.. - They need robe hooks everywhere, like EVERYWHERE. There was nowhere to hang my robe after showering. There was nowhere to hang my robe after going in / out of the mist room (which leads to open space shared with the dry benches and sauna). I just wanted to hang my robe.. - It'd be great to be able to order lunch! - Would also love if they offered a day pass! - Gatuity (22%) is automatically added to your bill. Not a big deal, I had planned to tip over 20% - but would have been nice to know this up front. - They don't skimp on the quality of their spa products! Everything from the shampoo to the lotion, and down to their oils are amazing! The heated neck wrap is awesome. I'm going back to pick one up! They also have a "LOCAL LOVE" deal where you upgrade your 60-mins massage treatment to 75-mins. Only for SD and Orange County peeps Mon-Thurs. Plus champagne (if you want). They have an organic (Rishi) tea which is so good / amazing! Sunny's is local self-care at it's finest and Sara & Charlene did not disappoint. We left feeling like the weight had been lifted off our shoulders (literally) and wish we were able to stay longer. I just had the most relaxing facial of my life at this spa! Genua is an actual magician with her hands and her energy and skillset led me to the most relaxing hour ever. I fell asleep on and off about four times. The heated bed that moves to contour to your shape was the icing on top of the cake. I got a 90 minute vagal nerve massage from Stephanie and it was one of the best massages I've ever had. We also took advantage of the amenities afterwards: There is a comfy lounge area with a balcony overlooking the ocean with nuts, dried fruit, tea, and spa water as refreshments. There's also a co-ed dry sauna and a cool mister with infused essential oils for a hot-cold combo experience. We were permitted to make use of this area for the rest of the day and it really enhanced my ability to "bliss out" and savor the feelings of wellness and relaxation after my massage. I recommend carving out a good amount of time to fully experience everything this spa has to offer. read more

While I didn't have an awful time here, and I thought the staff was very nice and accommodating, I did not feel our experience was anywhere near worth the almost $900 paid for two people. This spa is laid out more like a high end gym than a luxury spa. The changing lockers are set in a group of 6 or 8 in various alcoves throughout the space, with no privacy. There is a small 'shower room' beside these- there's a shower, sink, small counter and small stool to sit. There is no toilet. It is a room for one, so since I was there with my friend, it made the whole thing really awkward for both of us to try and get ready for treatment or leaving or just generally being relaxed. Next, there is no pool or hot tub access on the weekends (including Friday), and even if there were access it's on another floor from the spa, so there's that. What luxury spa doesn't have a hot tub access? The sauna was basically a warming room. Not hot enough to be an actual sauna. I am personally not partial to saunas because I overheat so easily but I was fine sitting in there to dry off after using the cool mist shower, which I did like because it had mint scented aromatherapy while using that. I felt like that was a highlight. The small patio they have overlooking the street and then the beach and pacific was really nice, but if it had been a busier day in the spa there would've been no room for anyone. Two chairs and a lounge bed was the extent of the furniture in that area. There's an inside lounge area with 6 beds (I think). I didn't use this area, but I'd describe it as pretty basic. Semi sheer curtain between each relaxation chaise. The treatment-we both had the soul ritual, which costs $350 each, and is a combo of a 'sound bath' which I would describe as a fairly lackluster strike of a mallet against a brass bowl. Following this, there was a sugar scrub applied to the body, then wiped off with warm towels. It kind of felt like getting washed up by your mom when you were a kid and you got sandy. The last spa day we went to had a shower room inside the treatment room so you could rinse off before the massage portion. Next was a thermal wrap-nothing special but nothing wrong either-one point of appreciation was that their massage tables are very fancy. They have different height, and abilities to raise & lower sections for guest comfort rather than using bolsters as most places do. The massage was next and my massage therapist Sis a good job. There was also a hair treatment and scalp massage and that was fabulous. Overall, I will not come back and I don't recommend. For that price point, your money is better spent at a facility that has a more cohesive and secluded feel, and has specific rooms that cater to the rituals specific needs. We had a mother/daughter couples massage that was so relaxing, then spent the day lounging at the Seabird's beautiful pool. Tasty drinks and a yummy poke bowl that was shared helped to make the day perfect! The locals' special is only available M-F, and you get 15% off treatments, free valet parking, and use of the pool and spa facilities all day. I will definitely be back. The location is beautiful and the staff are friendly. The facials are good, however, other facials are equally as good, if not better for a better price. The website is abysmal. There is no way to create an account to track appointments. The website does not have an option to cancel. The only option is to call and hope that someone answers; otherwise a voicemail is left and fingers crossed that they contact you before the 24 hour deadline. Their Instagram is pointless since it only has a handful of images and nobody replies to comments made to the page, good or bad. The only reply you see from them are hashtags. It would be nice if someone took the time to reply to people leaving remarks about their services. read more

LOCALS REVIEW: Brought my husband for his birthday on a random Wednesday morning. Desk staff was friendly and the facilities, albeit small, are impeccably clean and well stocked. Perla was my service provider and she has magic hands! She listened carefully to my requests and gave an amazing massage. Afterward, we lounged on the outdoor deck overlooking the water and sipped champagne. Hit the sauna and cool mist shower and checked out pool for bit. My only criticism would be that they should get rid of the guest room next door and open up the spa area to have 2 outdoor areas. The current balcony is pretty small. There was only 1 other couple there that day but I imagine it gets pretty busy and crowded on the weekends and in the summer. Excellent and relaxing experience! read more

When, entering the spa, I am typically greeted with smiling welcoming faces from the spa front desk team members David, Frances and Nik, as well as any therapists that I encounter. The spa and boutique have a very clean, refreshing and relaxing atmosphere, which is perfect when wanting to disconnect and decompress from every day life. When checking in, you will receive a tour of the amenities and changing areas where you will be given locker, equipped with sandals, a robe, towels, and personal amenities. With an array of treatments to choose from, you can never go wrong with the Soul Ritual. This treatment includes a scrub, wrap and full body massage for the ultimate state of relaxation. I have personally received treatments from different therapist at this property, and they each pay very close attention to detail as well as making sure they address any concerns you might have to provide a personally tailored experience. One of my favorite things about this space is that the amenity area is co-ed and that it allows me to spend time with my husband before and after treatments. They have a sanarium and misting shower for hot and cold therapy, along with heated benches, wrapping around the room known only as The Cove! Sunny's has a lovely relaxation area and balcony overlooking the ocean that is equipped with refreshments, snacks, books and blankets. One of my favorite things to end the day with is a nail treatment along with a blowout and style from the salon so that I am in tiptop shape for dinner after my relaxing day. I cannot say enough about Marissa and how truly wonderful she is. She was incredibly helpful and flexible regarding every aspect of the day. She worked with me to keep hair and makeup services (which I was covering for 12 other members of the family) within my budget, and was just the brightest, most positive person to interact with between my trial and the big day. She was also so accommodating with helping us organize massages for our mothers over wedding weekend, and she let my husband use the sauna a couple times as well ;) Marissa is the absolute best, and I would highly suggest anyone getting married at the Seabird take advantage of the fantastic space and people that Sunny's provides. read more

A quaint spa to relax and enjoy (a part) of your day at! My wife and I came here during our staycation and enjoyed a massage. Located in the 2nd level of Sea Bird hotel, the sleek, clean airy vibes of the hotel carried on into the spa. Service was great from initial check in, to the mini tour, towel service and the massages themselves. The spa itself is co-ed and has a few private shower rooms and lockers to store your things. There's a refreshing mint-infused mist shower, dry sauna, and room with warm marble benches. Also, their "relaxation" room as water, tea, a few chaise lounge chairs and opens up to a small ocean view balcony that fits 3-4 people. Honestly, the spa amenities weren't enough to keep you lounging around all day and the "relaxation" room didn't appear too comfortable, especially if there are other guests in there. The facilities is just enough to get you relaxed before your service and chill out for a few after your service. Overall, it was a nice few hours spent relaxing! Tip: If you're from SoCal, make sure you mention it! They've got a great locals deal! read more

I am in the skincare industry so I have access to the top skincare, the top services and the best of the best within the industry. This was BY FAR the best facial I have ever had. Not only did Genua perfect her craft as a skin care therapist, but the overall experience of relaxation, education and experience was bar none. She was a professional through and through - extremely knowledgeable, the treatment was a slice of heaven, and my skin was glowing. We were lucky enough to get the locals deal as we are from San Diego. 2 of us received messages while one got a facial. We all loved out treatments. Since the place is only a year old it is super clean and new. Valet was included so that was nice. We also had access to the pool which although on another floor it was nice to be able to go back and forth while waiting and hanging out for other friends. We had a couples massage for our pre-wedding day. The spa was beautiful with ocean views to sit outside and wait. The massages were perfect pressure and definitely did the trick to ward off all the stressers we had leading up to the wedding. My (now husband) is still raving about what a great job they did working out the knots in his back. He's still feeling good two weeks later.
