Great place to come for a relaxing, romantic couple's night out. The private space has a shower so you can hop in between the steam room and get some cooling air. The place provided waters for us to stay hydrated. And the essential oils gave such a calming touch to the steam. Will definitely come back. read more

I've been going to see Candance here for over 5 years for back waxes. For a fundamentally unpleasant experience of ripping hair out of my back, she is very pleasant to be around. We talk about Game of Thrones or other shows and it's great to have conversation. I've never had any skin reactions or long-term pain/redness/irritations. The business is professional and I always feel comfortable and taken care of. She can get my entire back done in 20 minutes which is awesome. The prices are competitive, its about $80 for the back. However, I only need to come every six weeks or so, which is very reasonable. They also have treats and relaxing music. read more

My visit to Healing Waters was only my second time ever being at a spa, so please keep that in mind as to my 5-star rating. It was recommended to me by a co-worker as being one of the best she's ever been to because they use the Yon-Ka Paris line of products, which are almost 100% natural. I dragged my fiancé with me to get Grand Classique facials in preparation for the wedding. Calling them to make an appointment was a breeze - the girl I spoke to on the phone was very helpful in helping me determine what kind of facial to have and when to get it. They are a small unit on Whyte Ave, right next to the Tokyo Noodle Shop and a few doors down from the American Apparel. They offer free parking behind the building (use the alley to get there). Inside, they have a small front lobby, and we were ushered to their waiting room. There is a comfy chair and a nice little couch, and some complementary water and teas. There was also a big wooden unit which I think is a steam room, and 4 small lockers in the corner. The music is very calming and the decor as well - there is fabric draped on the ceiling and the big windows have drapes on them but still lets the sunlight in (and so do the little windows above). The facial itself was a very relaxing experience for me. You can read the comprehensive description on their website. You lie down in a dark room lit by a dim light and some candles. I asked my esthetician to explain each step to me just so I would know, but otherwise I was impressed with how quiet she was when moving around and getting things ready. Being hungover, my fiancé said that the facial was a very nice way to spend the afternoon. Both of our faces felt so soft and hydrated for the rest of the day. The only downside is that at $100 each plus tip (credit cards are accepted), the facials were pretty expensive (I did some research prior to choosing this place), but they did give us some samples to take home. It's several weeks later now and my face didn't break out like a lot of people said would happen, but I also generally have pretty good skin, so overall, it's hard to tell if the facial benefited me. My fiancé had a little bit of a break-out, and I think his skin does look better since then, but he still thinks that facials are a gimmick. I would consider coming here again. read more

I absolutely loved my experience at Healing Waters. I got a 60 minute massage and a facial. The massage was wonderful, i wish i could remember the womans name who massaged me as she was fantastic, very calming voice and made me feel very comfortable. I've had a couple massages before at a different place, and the technician liked to talk, which took away from the experience, so i was more than happy when this woman only spoke to ask me questions pertaining to the massage. The facial was also very nice. I wasn't too keen on the woman doing my facial however, as she seemed very plain and not very informative about the products she used. While it was nice, it seemed very short and to the point, kind of like she just wanted to get it over with. Other than that though, it was great. I would most definitely recommend this Spa to anyone, and will most definitely be going back! read more

I live very close to this establishment, which looks so good and seems like it should be good. So I have tried it three times in seven years, always hoping that it will live up to my hopes. But it never has. I have had three pedicures here, all of which started to chip and fade almost immediately, and never looked that great to begin with, since they have only a tiny selection of limited colours of some indeterminate polish brand. The facials have just done nothing for me at all. The massages and other relaxing spa services were ok but that isn't saying much. It is so disappointing not to have a truly good spa in the neighbourhood. read more

I have enjoyed working with my aesthetician towards finding the solutions for my white blonde brows and lashes and very fair skin. However, the day after my last appointment, I noticed the new technique she tried left my brow much lighter from the center to the outer corner. Almost a noticeable line. No problem right? I called and left a message, then was out so stopped by. Whoever I spoke to noted the issue and agreed it needed to be fixed. Then told me every one was booked the rest of the day and they aren't open again until after my flight out of town on Tuesday. No solution offered, an apology and sent me on my way. I went there back in December as a day of relaxation. I had a pedicure, manicure and facial. The pedicure was ok, although I did not like having people walk by to get to the other treatment rooms. The manicure has not well done and I had to repaint and address my cuticles once I got home. The facial was not fantastic either. They told me they did extractions and could do some on my milia... wrong. They did not do any and the girl did not seem to know what she was doing. I spent over $200 that day, and I felt it was a waste of money. I would not go back. Plus the fact that I had to wait so long between treatments because another client showed up really late for their appointment was disrespectfull of my time. read more

Would not recommend at all. Sent my wife to the Spa for a 45 minute massage and a 1hr body scrub. Because she was getting the massage after the body scrub they shortened the scrub from 1hr to a 15 minute treatment as there was no need to apply lotion . They discounted the 1hr treatment that turned to a 15 minute treatment by 10% from $95 to $86 . Which in my opinion doesn't really offset the fact that 75% of the treatment was not done. I called to express my frustration and mentioned that this should of been communicated when we booked it . The point of the day was to give her a couple hours at a spa. They didn't seem to care either way about our experiece. Frustrating . read more

A fabulous day at Healing Waters! I went with my mother-in-law for my birthday and we did the full day package, lunch included. The staff are attentive and friendly and the treatments felt luxurious and relaxing. The staff are very knowledgeable and will explain what they are doing as they go through each treatment. We received the Hammam Experience, facials, massages, manicure, a waxing, and pedicures. It was a full day of pampering, but not once did we feel rushed. Lunch was selected from the Artisan Bakery's menu (located only a few doors down) and it made a perfect light lunch. We are already planning our next day at the spa! I came by for a pedicure and was pleasantly surprised to find such a professional, pretty, and cozy spa on Whyte Ave. I got the healing pedicure, complete with a scrub, mask, massage, and paraffin and I was relaxed from start to finish. My esthetician did a wonderful job shaping my nails, and I was very impressed with how much detail she took into ensuring my feet were left baby smooth-- not a single dry spot left on them! I did not have a very good experience at this spa. I was given a gift card and was hesitant to use it as I couldn't decide which service to get and I do not have the extra funds to just go to a nice spa whenever I feel like it so I was really looking forward to this experience. I originally wanted to get a massage but could never get an appointment as they were always booked up, so I decided to go for a pedicure since it is the beginning of summer and wanted nice feet for sandal weather. I made an appointment on the phone for the full service (1.5 hr) pedicure and also asked if they had gel polish. The receptionist had no clue what she was talking about and said she didn't know but would call me back with an answer, she never did. Once I got to the spa I was taken to this area sort of in the hallway of the small building and the seat was just a stone bench with a thin cushion over it. It was very uncomfortable. The technician who did my pedicure was nice enough, but about halfway through I realized I was not getting the treatments done I though I was going to get (paraffin wax, foot scrub etc.) and when I asked she said that I was only booked in for the 1 hr pedicure, when I said no I was supposed to have the full service one she said "oh sorry, we don't have time do to that one, it will have to be next time." By then I was very upset because I felt I had wasted my entire gift card on something I could have gone anywhere to have done at a much cheaper price. To make matters worse at the end of the pedicure when the pedicurist put my sandals back on for me she chipped the polish on one of my toes, when I said something she just rubbed her finger over it and said "oh you can't even see it". I didn't even bother asking her to fix it cause I just wanted to leave by that time. Sorry for the long post and I hope you took the time to read it because I would not waste my time or money here, especially for a pedicure. read more

Super unimpressed. Went for a mani/pedi for my birthday - thought I would spoil myself. I would say the only great thing was the time spent on massaging my hands and feet. My nail lengths are uneven, the nail polish is streaky, and not much work was done on either my hands or feet. The chairs were uncomfortable and awkward. At first, I thought this was going to be a real treat since the ambiance of the place was welcoming, but as the time progressed, I was much less impressed - and it took almost 3 hours! The only good thing was that the aesthetician was very nice, and a pleasure to talk to. I would absolutely not go back, as the service is nothing special and the treatment was VERY expensive for almost no work. read more

I read the reviews and decided to try with a package deal ( massage, facial and pedicure). I would have to say it was a very unpleasant experience and should NOT be called a SPA. During all services in the very tiny rooms I could hear the other customers laughing and talking loudly out in the hallways during their manicures and pedicures. It was noisy literally during the entire 3 hours experience. I couldn't wait to leave. The facial left my face oily and she had gotten the face products in my hair. I was welcomed as the "package deal" when I entered the spa...I mean thanks but really, I am a first time customer and you can't even say Hello. I have been a client of Healing Waters since 2009. Every month I have a spa package that includes a facial, manicure and pedicure. Carla does a fabulous job, she spends a lot of time on each service and I feel like I really get my money's worth. The products are European and smell great.
