I had a generally positive experience at Dr. Bauman Chiropractic, with a few caveats. Scheduling was very easy, and the front office staff was friendly, organized, and welcoming, which I really appreciated. As a first-time patient, I personally would have liked a bit more individualized care during my adjustment. The appointment was fairly brief (around 15 minutes) and felt more standardized than tailored to my specific needs. This may work well for many patients, but for me, I tend to respond better to a more customized approach. I also think body type can play a role in chiropractic care. While Dr. Bauman is clearly knowledgeable and professional, those in larger bodies may feel more comfortable with a chiropractor who has greater physical strength or uses different techniques. The office does offer some nice amenities, including a rolling adjustment table, access to massage therapists, and discounted rates on certain days. My insurance doesn't cover chiropractic visits, and the $60 out-of-pocket cost felt reasonable for this area. Overall, this practice may be a good fit for some, but I left wishing my regular chiropractor had availability, as I didn't feel quite as confident that my migraine symptoms were fully resolved. Bauman Chiropractic is a small, dated office that rushes patients through a two-step routine: first a mechanical massage table from the 1970s it seems like, then a quick adjustment in the chair. My real issue, and the reason I'm writing this review, is billing fraud. I checked my itemized bill and saw they were charging my insurance for services I never received, specifically adding "Physical Therapy" ($60) to every visit. There was never Physical Therapy done and not even talked about, just to take a Tylenol.... When I called, they admitted it and claimed they'd fix it with my insurance--but lets be real I'm not holding my breath. I hate to need to write a review as the doctor was nice but this is yet another example of a medical business taking advantage of patients and the system. THIS IS A RESPONSE TO Nora Bauman: The bill I didn't pay was around $40 (lol) I asked for a payment link and I was told I need to VENMO...(sketchy) You got caught red handed charging my insurance for services that never were given. I have recorded evidence of your employee stating that as well as you guys don't send bills to collections ;) Nice try...it's not about the $40 bill...it's about holding medical scam operations accountable. I had an appointment with Dr.Bauman, the wait time was not long and was attended at my appointed time. I would have like for the front desk lady to be informative since it was my first time. I pretty much got a hello that's it. I walk up to the desk and saw the sign in sheet and checked in. Dr. Bauman met with me to obtain as much details as possible to help me with my lower back and hip pain. She hear me out and did not rush me. I did feel the adjustment pretty quick but I guess that's how it's performed. Nevertheless it help alleviate the pain it felt so good and the rolling massage table machine is the best. Dr. Bauman is one of the best! I've been seeing her about once a month for years. She helped me through a pinched nerve and several other spinal issues. She is very gentle and never forces an adjustment. Her gentle method works very well at reducing pain. She's been through a lot herself, so she's very empathetic, kind, and understanding. I highly recommend her, especially if you're a little afraid of chiropractors. She will definitely not hurt you; you will feel great after an adjustment. She will make a recommendation for how often you should get adjusted, but she won't pressure you to come back frequently long-term. Ask the office if your insurance covers massage! Their massage therapists are excellent. I especially like Pam's massages. Even if your insurance doesn't cover massage, the prices are way lower than a spa. I really hate giving these kinds of reviews. I actually had a great couple first visits with Dr. Bauman and her staff up until today. I came into my appointment a few minutes early and wasn't seen until about 25 minutes later. I was put on the roller machine and was told Dr. Bauman would see me in "15 minutes". 15 minutes come around and the receptionist came to my room and said Dr. Bauman would be seeing me shortly after she finishes up her patient, right? Another 15 minutes come around and I ask him what happened. He said that likely I got skipped and apologizes for it. At this point I've been on the rollers for over a half hour now. Dr. Bauman comes in to get me finally and I ask her what happened and if I got skipped by accident. She essentially lied to me and said "oh no you didn't get skipped I have to prioritize massage patients first" in a very condescending tone. She not only lied, she basically said my scheduled time wasn't prioritized. Completely unprofessional. Looks like I'll be finding a new chiropractor now. read more

I've had chronic back problems for 20 years, so I stretch daily and work out to keep my core muscles strong. My back went out on me recently just from sitting with bad posture. I had fallen asleep in a movie theatre and this triggered it. I was in so much pain. I could not walk. I could not sit up or sit down without pain. I was scared. Nora is great and my back does feel better but service is suppppppper slow. My appointment was at 5 and I wasn't seen until 530. I was then asked first visit questions and taken to this roller to stretch my back before the adjustment. The roller felt nice but after it turned off I sat there for 5-10 minutes until I had to find someone to inform I'm done and ready for my adjustment. The adjustment was quick and the doctor was nice. If you're not in rush and dont mind waiting then, this is your place! Definitely a come after work when you have time to spare but wouldn't try over lunch. read more

Ahhhh... This is a family style chiropractor's office. It's not fancy but it is so so comfy. Dr Bauman is delightful and sweet, and surprisingly powerful. So much so, that sometimes, I just have her use the little knocking thing on my back. However, when I am in need of being cracked, she gives it to me but good! Maria, the receptionist is nice and will look into insurance thoroughly to determine what is covered, my massages are covered! if you do not have insurance, they have specials I hear - inquire! I have a 50 minutes massage and all of the MASSAGE THERAPISTS ARE WONDERFUL. bring cash to tip. Probably my favorite thing is to hang out on the roller bed - it's this exquisite reclined bed thing that has rollers that run along your back as you rest on it - Oh so heavenly! (though I may start bringing a towel for the pillow) Oh, and it is heated! Also, both Rebekah and PAulette use hot rocks in massage if requested. AND the chiropractor's office is open late once a week. All this and just a copay and a tip? Yes, I am hooked. completely addicted. I drive CONSTANTLY, my back always hurts, and they get me through. Dr. Bauman's been my chiropractor for... I really can't remember how many years - Eight maybe? My brother's been going to her longer than that. I've been to five or six other chiropractors and never really felt like I was getting anywhere. Especially with the one who insisted I take off my clothes - including my underwear - and wear a hospital gown during my treatment... um, eww? Anyway, Nora Bauman is a lovely woman and as long as you aren't allergic to her son's sweet dog, I think you'll like her and her adjustments. Maria at the front desk is just as sweet as can be, and the whole vibe of the office is comfy and homey. You can lie on one of her awesome rolling machines to work out some kinks while you wait for your turn to be cracked. Nora has several massage therapists who work with her in her office, whose services I believe are covered by most insurance companies, if provided in conjunction with an adjustment and under the direction of Dr. Bauman - and you get a forty minute massage - not just the ten or fifteen minutes you often get (if you get any at all) at other chiropractor's offices. The massage therapists are all good if you're clear about what you want. Just be sure to tell them if it hurts (too much or not enough!) and you should be considerably more comfortable, more relaxed and ready to face the world when you leave. Drink lots of water and expect to be sore the next day but after that you'll feel so much better! I usually go to Claudia and we're old friends now, so don't choose her. I need my regular massages and don't want you booking up all of her appointments. Just kidding. Sort of. But do go to Dr. Bauman so she stays in business and I can keep going there forever. Oh, and she's conveniently located right near Coldwater and the 101. There's a Good Will donation center that shares the rear parking lot, so you can unload all the stuff you've been collecting in your car and check that off your list, and there's a Whole Foods across the street. read more

Doctor was very nice, yet somewhat informative. My wife was having chronic back muscular pains. We didnt know why and from where her pains could have came. The doctor just told my wife to take it easy and get some rest. The Dr's Office per se is very tiny and old. The waiting room can only hold/seat 5 people max. Dont bring your baby stroller inside! There was nothing spectacular about the visit. $40 for check up and 15min massage. To be perfectly honest, this place isn't fancy or in a big pretty building. It's quaint... Cozy... But you know what, that's part of the charm. And Dr. Bauman seems like a genuinely nice person, even though I've only gone there twice for walk-in appointments. The front desk gal was nice as well. So like I said, I've only been twice, and both times I went on a Tuesday for the $20 deal before 1pm (which will be $30 starting January - also technically it was $21 since I used a credit card...). For $20 you get to lay on a rolly bed thingy that is awesome, but is slightly awkward as you are in a tiny dark room with another person. But it's not too weird. So you do the awesome bed thing (that I'd pay $20 for alone) and then she whisks you into the next room where she snap, crackle, and pops you. Dr. Bauman is the first chiro I've been to that noticed within a few minutes that I have TMJ, and told me my neck pains could be related (hello!). And when I said I still had that pinched feeling, she went back and tried cracking my neck more. The whole thing only took about 20 minutes - can't been that for a lunch break! I still have a bit of a pinch, and my neck isn't all better, but at least I can check my blind spot now when I drive. :) PS - There's limited parking in the back read more

I had never visited a chiropractor before so, needless to say, I was a tad nervous for my first appointment. I have posture issues that I'm trying to fix in which I read chiropractic therapy can help assist and alleviate issues from my exercises and posture corrector. Dr. Bauman was very patient and thorough with me in explaining what would happen during the session, putting me at ease. I had read some scary things online that almost talked me out of my appointment but her confidence and knowledge was very reassuring. Not to mention, she has been doing this almost as long as I've been alive. I had to trust she knew what she was talking about! The first visit, my back was very tense. I started on that bed everyone talks about in their reviews. What a wonderful contraption! When Dr. Bauman did her adjustment, she got some good pops and cracks. My back was a little surprised about this and I had funny spasms the next day or so while my muscles got used to the adjustment. Nothing painful or long lasting. Again, fixing bad posture here so I'm not surprised my muscles protested a little. After that, I felt great. My next appointment was a week later - which was today. I got a heating pad for my neck and the roller bed that warms up your back muscles as it oscillates underneath you. When Dr. Bauman did my adjustment, my body did not protest as much this round. I believe the exact words I used were "Rice Krispies." My back and neck were very accepting this round and I felt wonderful after! I even went in with some sciatic pain. That happens to me from time to time when I sleep a little wrong. She adjusted that area first in about 60 seconds and the pain was gone. Magical hands this one has. Highly recommend! read more

Beware! After my first adjustment, my lower back/pelvis became twisted and I could feel the pelvic bones on my left side grinding together. I had to spend days trying to straighten out my lower back. In addition, Nora is dishonest about the length of the massages. She instructs her receptionist to say that the massages are "30 minutes or 1 hour". I thought I was paying for the 1-hour massage, but it turned out to be 45 minutes only. When I asked afterward how long the massage was supposed to last, the masseuse told me 50 minutes. I brought these concerns to Nora's attention, and while she did apologize, she did not try to make up for the poor service OR the fact that she had damaged my back! I will NOT be coming back here. read more
