From the smooth check-in to the Pre-Op preparations to the actual (at the scheduled time) wheeling of the gurney with Shirley on into the Operating Room. All these steps were met with a professional, smiling and friendly staff. All answered our questions from how to turn on a TV to in-depth information as to what was about to transpire. This helped relieve the nerves both Shirley and me, her husband. While the procedure was being performed, I was directed to the far, far, far away Surgery Waiting room. The clerk greeted each person who walked into the room, gathered information as to who we were there for, explained the electronic information board, which like airport information board tracking the progress of our love one. The clerk also pointed out the gratuities in the room as well as where the rest rooms are located. As soon as I saw on the big electronic patient information board my wife was in recovery, the clerk told me I could go and be with her and explained how to get to recovery. My wife was awake when I got there while the nurses checked for any balance or cognitive problems. The Doctor came and explained what had taken place, what was going to occur with labs, and when Shirley was to report for her follow up. When Shirley was fully awake, the nurses explained how to deal with any problems that might occur (there were none) when we got home. While I retrieved the car, the nurses helped Shirley into a wheelchair and met me that the B-Building entrance. Shirley was happy this experience was behind her but happy with all the caring friendly folks who took care of this life journey being un-eventful.

The hospital on Gateway is slightly better so you may retain a bit more of your sanity by going there instead. What you first notice, when you walk in, is the security. If you expected to get to your appointment early or on time, forget about it. They wanded me with a wand that could not detect metal. Brilliant. How do I know this? Because their supervisor came over and waved it over his gun and it didn't chime. They continued using it even after I was let through three minutes later. When I get to Radiology - the place where my appointment is - they tell me I need to check in at a different place in the building. Again, if you're expecting to get to your appointment early or on time, forget it. I go all the way to where I'm supposed to check in, get checked in, then walk back to Radiology after my appointment time. Even after showing back up to the Radiology department after my appointment time, I still had to wait for a while until I got called back. The only saving grace for that star is that the tech who performed the procedure was very pleasant and efficient. Do NOT go here if you can help it

Billing called, told me my responsibility was $434 and posted a letter on my chart saying same. this was $50 more than same procedure done 3 months prior at Gateway, but I figured prices had just gone up. turned out Ct scan at gateway is $374 before insurance, but $3991 at Holmes. No disclosure or warning until they bill you. paid in advance, then month later another bill for $1800. Immediately questioned bill, thru phone and my chart. woman responding said to give her 24-48 hrs to respond back. never heard from her. figured it was resolved, until 5 weeks later I get a late bill for everything. Billing mgr said the powers above hadn't responded so she just forgot. Billing admitted they had made errors in pricing and the person responsible needed more training. but that I still owed them everything anyway. would never have gone to Holmes if anyone said it was 10x the cost of Gateway, but I took them at their words. so many attempts to fix, useless people who don't get back to you. now getting extra bills to read the Ct scan that was $346 instead of the $34 for same prior service. Cant trust them at all. turned out the 'spot' was an error and the Ct was unnecessary. how convenient.

I waited for 15 minutes before another employee arrived and alerted the first woman that there was a patient waiting. After 5 more minutes she came out aggressively asking what was wrong with me. After I explained my issue she insisted I leave and go to another doctors office down the street. I already had called that doctor and they don't see urgent cases and referred me to an urgent care facility. The woman insisted I have to go there and shut the door. She was absolutely unhelpful. Sure enough I drove to the second doctors office and they told me they still can't see me until next week and referred me to another urgent care. I have now wasted hours of my day thanks to this office. Their website stated they could address my issue and obviously they cannot. I wish I had come here to see the other 1 star reviews before I wasted my time. Do not bother with this office.

That alone would've been enough to leave a poor review. But what's happened since is what's truly alarming. Despite never being a patient myself, I was indirectly contacted through my workplace regarding personal details that could only have come from private records. It's disturbing to think a medical office would reach beyond its walls like that -- whether out of spite or carelessness, it's completely unacceptable. No patient (or anyone connected to one) should ever have to worry that their private information might be weaponized over a review. I don't trust this clinic with a name, let alone health information.
