I've worked in the 1st district for many years and am always happy to see a new place - especially one that's fast. HK has a clean, modern design and the staff are friendly. But I think this is geared more towards tourist trade based on our experience and the clientele. My husband had a daily menu of steamed fish w/potatoes and carrots (had been wrapped w/foil and steamed). I had a large Thai glass noodle salad w/shrimp. Mine was made with abundant ingredients, but had very little flavour. While they do offer seasonings, oils, soy sauce, etc, it was still disappointing even after a liberal dash of soy sauce. My husband fared worse - the fish was tiny, thin slice and the potatoes were barely cooked (crunchy!). He asked for them to be cooked more, the dish was returned with some of the potatoes still rock hard. The server was very nice (she tested them herself with the fork) and took them back again, brought back a small bowl of the re-cooked potatoes - some were better, but still under-cooked. As it cost €8.90 it was pretty ridiculous. My salad was around €12 and while the portion size was fine, I'd been hoping for something tastier. We're pretty pragmatic when it comes to food - but will go back to our usual favs unless something else comes along. It was really a shame as this area really needs more places with quick lunchtime menus. read more
