This place was delicious. I tried all the meats that they offered, and they all had an original flavor per protien that was different than the meat flavor of the one before which is not usually the case when it comes to restaurant and seasoning. Usually things taste a bit similar to each other and have a similar profile. They have wonderful, helpful staff and the juice that was offered they make homemade. This was very light refreshing and delicious. I do recommend this place, it is somewhere I would definitely visit again. Something I think should be updated: I do think that they should put a little bit more pictures and make it a little bit more inviting. I'm always a "pro plant" person for the atmosphere. Another thing is that I think they should have is plates for when you want to dine in instead of eating out of a box. My mother wished their was more indoor seating, but due to the size, it's obvious that that can't be done. And it is just simply delicious. You get your grain base, protein, hot veggies and your choice of delicious toppings. The offerings are also true to their ethnic origins. As an example, the beef birria was so flavorful with just enough spice to give it the extra kick. Additionally, for those gym bros and gals, where protein is the key to building those muscles, one serving of the protein provides up to 57 grams. The co- owners, brother and sister duo, Lev and Suzy are super duper nice. They will gladly explain to you in great detail what goes on into making the entrees, the sides and the topping. They are both really passionate about what they sell so for sure you are assured you are getting a quality meal. I just had the most delicious lunch from Health Pack Meals. The entire place is gluten free, which is awesome for when my friend with celiacs visits. I got the shrimp with lots toppings and my husband got the steak. Both are so freaking good. Everything is fresh, full of flavor, and leaves you feeling good about what you just ate. No bloat or food coma after. It's great. Culture Kitchen - now their storefront experience. I came here because they are open on Saturdays once again. I came with the intention of doing a grab and go, of course that didn't happen. I ended up chatting with the owners - great chat. I ordered a Premium Bowl. My selections include one of the following: Greek Chicken Kabobs, Lamb Kabobs, Steak Kabobs, Cajun Jumbo Shrimp, or Salmon Filet. I was going to get Salmon but decided on the Lamb Kabobs instead. Before I ordered, they informed me that it was being made fresh so the wait would be 10 minutes. I had the time and decided I would eat in at one of their tables. I had them add some additional carbs to my bowl - rice, black beans and sweet potato, and some veggies - carrots, cucumber, avocado, and pineapple salsa on the side, which turned out to be delicious, although I still miss the mango version. My dish was full of colors - healthy stuff, and I couldn't wait to dig in. I have always enjoyed the dishes I have had there and can't wait to go back. Before I left, I decided to order a few of their frozen meals to go. Directions on how to thaw them were on each package. They have a meal subscription service, and I feel this is a great way to test the waters first. I'll share my thoughts on the ones I tried - that will be a future review. The bowl base options include rice, quinoa, sweet potatoes. Favorite proteins from what I've tried are the Cuban chicken stew (Ropa Vieja), chicken shawarma (delish with a side of the garlic aioli), and the Turkey taco meat- if you like a little spicy kick, the birria beef is great! Favorite veggie side is the stewed green beans which have a warm Mediterranean flavor. Top off with Pineapple salsa and pickled onions-- so flavorful--really can't go wrong with any of the toppings. One the best foods I have eaten in a while. I have been trying to get better on my diet, especially when going out, so this was a very good place to try out while out and about. The owner was very helpful and specified all the stuff that was offered from carbs, proteins, fiber, and extra toppings you can put in your bowl. He also went over his background in the fitness industry and nutrition which was very helpful to know. It's a very small spot with a lot to offer and offers enough space to sit inside and outside when the weather's nice. Decided to go out for my lunch break one day and hit up Health Pack Meals! Ever since COVID I've been in my health food and fitness era so I was excited to hear about a place that offered high quality and clean ingredients. I ordered a brown rice bowl with base protein of half steak, half chicken, broccoli, pico de gallo, peppers, broccoli, and guac. Who says no to guac when there's no extra charge?! Not me. I liked that there was no-nonsense and that I knew exactly what I was eating and felt good about it. The portion was definitely big enough for me to have the next day, and actually it tasted even better the next day! The protein kept me full for hours too, so I didn't need a snack before dinner. While the bowl itself was good and all, I really want to give a big shoutout to the owner Lev! All the reviews talking about how nice he is and how much he really tries to know his customers is so true. I really enjoyed chatting with him as he prepared my bowl and appreciated all the advice he gave me on how to reach my fitness goals. Lev alone deserves 6 stars! Lev was a personal trainer at Lifetime Fitness nearby and his company, Health Pack Meals, has been around for years, offering meal delivery service (like Factor). He has finally opened a storefront place in the Kentlands Main street to offer take out. Its like a Chipotle style ordering, pick a base, protein (choose portion size from single to triple size), veggies, then toppings. I really enjoyed my lunch back at my office desk. You can taste the freshness of the food and the better quality, imo, and the sauces are quite tasty. Next time, I will bring my office workers too. We loved the food here! It was wonderful. They have healthy prepackaged meals you can take home and put in the fridge OR you can make a bowl from the hot food on the bar. The day we were there they had rice, quinoa, or sweet potato, several types of chicken, beef, ground turkey and vegetarian options. The mushrooms were fresh and so good! You could add whatever you wanted including guacamole (no additional charge!) and other great items. We can't wait to go back. We also had the unsweetened berry juice which I highly recommend. The price is higher at 20 dollars for the highest protein bowl but it comes loaded with protein and unlimited toppings and customizations (avocado too). All in all, would def pay the higher price for high quality, nutritious foods. This is probably all the kinds of food I'd meal prep myself but don't have the time to make all the miscellaneous ingredients. The sauces are great too (green sauce especially) but didn't get chance to confirm the oils used for that. My father and I went to Health Pack Meals after hearing great reviews about the freshness of the food, and the great taste. Unfortunately, this seems to have been nothing more than hype. We came in at 5:00pm, when they opened for their dinner rush, expecting hot food, and were disappointed to find out that the food was lukewarm at best. My assumption is that we got recycled food from the lunch rush. One would assume they would at least heat it up... but apparently not. Additionally when we got there, right as it opened, we saw there was barely any food in the trays. We asked for "high protein," but the server gave us no more than 2 (very small) scoops of what we had asked for. The food tasted average to below average, and nowhere near the quality we expected for twenty dollars a bowl. We will never be going back, and we don't think you should either. If you're in the mood for a healthy bowl of food, you're better off going to the local chipotle or cava, and asking for healthy options in your bowl. Their food is hot, and actually freshly cooked. UPDATE: My father actually seems to have gotten sick from this meal. He has been vomiting all night. Stay away from this place!!! read more
