We pulled in at 20 minutes to close and the guy running things let us know the dining room was closed. That wasn't an issue since we knew it was closing time but I did ask if they had time to make a to-go order. He was happy to oblige and I'm so glad he did. He directed us to a garden area overlooking a water area and we sat hoping to spot a moose. He did tell us they had spotted 2 bears walking through earlier. The outside dining overlooks this same glade making its nice place to watch for wildlife. We'll be back when in the area.

We had to wait a little bit due to a staffing shortage but that's was fine to get out and stretch our legs and look at the BEAUTIFUL gardening and flowers on the property. We were seated outside which was cooler than inside as many places do not have air conditioning in the area. The server was clearly from another country so some of his English was broken. He let us know that it might be a minute since he had just taken a large group's dessert order. He meant no harm and we knew that - cultural differences in speech delivery. We saw quite a few teen aged workers at our time around GNP so we wondered if there's a work program. Anyways, with the view we had, he could take all day. We got our drinks which were so good. Our food came out within a reasonable amount of time. My steak was a tad overcooked but it was still delicious. A train came by during our visit which was so fun to watch! Unfortunately, they ran out of the huckleberry cheesecake so I did not get to try that - super bummed! I can't remember how much the bill was, but you expect to pay more in a place like this I guess. Great dinner overall!

Chef Ante was doing a soft open and it was just the local's and him and Tina running the front of house. This cute little house turned into a homestyle restaurant is AMAZING. Now if you think I"m just exaggerating, read any of my other reviews or know I'm a snob. Or even better come check it out for your self. How welcoming they were it felt like going to a loved families house and sitting down together for a home made meal. Because that is what it was. Food, I mean, come on! The lamb chops seasoned and cooked to perfect, nice char on the outside with a lite pink on the inside. The Ragu on home made tagliatelle was so beautiful, not to rich like some other you night have had, but able to taste all the flavor in the dish. A special if you can get it they were trying out here was the Chewapchichi (Cevapi), a form of Kofta / Meatball made in Chef Anton's Croatian style. That is not the Meatball that is on the menu in a soft tomato sauce!!! Basically we started with the Shrimp Tostada app and the Clams & Chroizo and just decided to ask for the whole menu for the family. I could go on, but just come see for yourself and enjoy for sure.

The dining area is fairly large and comfortable. Feels very old school but also happened to have someone playing the piano with some classic western ish vibes if you know what I mean that really gave this more charm. Food is very generous and definitely recommend splitting the prospectors breakfast. Chicken fried steak, a monster biscuit, hash browns and two eggs with gravy is a lot to take down. Even if you were to do a long after, not sure you can burn off this many calories. Chicken fried steak is good - thin and crisp but with a breadcrumb like crust instead of the floured stuff I'm used to getting down south. Sausage gravy is flavorful and a classic pairing but you can also opt for brown gravy instead. The biscuit is moist and a good utensil to soak up the gravy. Eggs and hash browns needed seasoning - there's no salt on it so add it yourself but the griddled crisp on the hash browns were good. Some of my friends got the home fries but noted they weren't that great so stick with the hash. Accessible parking downtown and a good stop to fuel up!
