If you're like me, you think every answer can be solved with a book. In this case it's the New York Times Best Seller "The Life‑Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering". While this book was great in helping me declutter my closets and donate cherished but never-used-again possessions, our garage is another story. It is the place things are banished to and never seen again. Due to being out of sight, my garage also become out of mind--and eventually a place I avoided completely due to clutter. Which is sad, because it used to be my gym, my project room, and I place I could easily find things I needed in a minutes notice. Now it was just a giant bird's nest of disorganization. I've always had it on my "to do" list to clean it out and reorganize, but it never became a top priority. Months turned into a year and finally we were back to looking at gym memberships--wouldn't it be better to invest that cost into our garage and get our home gym back again? I had to review - I can't say enough about the help Kendra was to me. I was trying to organize a HUGE restaurant move - 6,000 lb stove, vent units the size of small cars, 12+ huge trucks of kitchen and dining room supplies, ranging from cast iron, to crystal, to LARGE appliances with accoutrements. It was chaos... Enter Kendra! Suddenly we have ten movers (or more), a crane, hydraulic lifts, moving supplies, storage etc., and at LEAST 12 trucks - all with just a call to her and a few conversations. Kendra is amazing. I think she can handle anything, and she has all the information and know-how normal people DON'T have, in order to effectively execute a large scale move - quickly and efficiently. My roofdeck was plain and unused because I simply didn't have the time to work on it. I work hard and on the weekends I wanted to be doing other things. On top of that, i couldn't be around for deliveries or anything else to make it work. Kendra was recommended to me. She came over to my apartment asked a bunch of questions about what I wanted and put a plan into action right away. I was nervous at first because she jumped in so quickly and I wasn't 100% sure what I wanted , but she made me feel better by making sure I approved every decision she made. She sent me text pictures and links to furniture. I just had to say yes/no. I gave her a feel for the plants I wanted and a budget (that she stayed within). I now go up to my roofdeck all the time and it gives me great joy. I owe that to her. The entire project was done very quickly. My only regret is not finding out about her earlier. Her rates weren't the cheapest, but I found that she got more done in an hour than any two people I know combined. I have recommended her to several people. read more

Kendra is awesome. Really amazing. She gets more done in one day than I could do in a year. I recently moved to the bay area from San Diego and by chance found her services. For the first time in my life every single box is emptied and organized after a move. She got through boxes I had not gotten to from two prior moves ago. She unpacked and organized my entire kitchen in 4 hours and I have A LOT of stuff. Everything was right were I would have liked it to be if I would have done it myself.. although it would have taken me at least a month trying to fit it in after work and on weekends. I keep looking for things she can help with as it feels great to have someone else to do the organizing, sorting, donating, decorating etc. She unpacked and organized my entire 4,000 square foot house doing it part time in just weeks. Kendra is amazing. We had 2 weeks to completely move out of a large warehouse that had been lived in & used by a couple of different groups for over 5 years. The task was phenomenally huge. The person who had been living there wanted to do absolutely no work, he just wanted his stuff "dealt with". He marked what he wanted kept (moved into storage). Everything else was to be gotten rid of one way or another. I personally had about 10 years of accumulated storage (from this warehouse and a prior one), stuff I didn't want to just keep moving from storage to storage. I wanted to donate what I could, e-waste what I could, and keep as little as possible. Kendra helped us with *everything*. She craiglisted bigger/more important items that we didn't want to just put on the street. She made sure everything that could be donated got donated. Everything that needed to get into storage went into storage. Things we didn't want to keep and couldn't donate or put into the dumpster went to eco-haul. Kendra was phenomenal through the whole process. She has so much positive energy! And she knows what to do, stuff gets done. We were out on time. I still can hardly believe it! We could not have done it without Kendra, and I would absolutely recommend her for any organizing or decluttering or crazy-move-out task you might have. After working with us, I can assure you, Kendra has seen it all. No task is too big, or too nasty, or too difficult. If you are deeply embarrassed by your mess, stop worrying about it and call Kendra. She will not judge you. Maybe she'll tell you stories about the craziness she dealt with when she worked with us, and you'll feel a lot better about your own situation while you laugh at us (I am totally OK with this :). When I moved in with a (lovable) pack-rat I knew that I wasn't going to get much closet space. My honey and I do most things well together but navigating his years of accumulated stuff was not one of them. It's very obvious that Kendra comes with a lot of experience. No organizing task is too big, too small or indeed too daunting for Kendra. And let it be said, she has stamina and she works like a machine - definitely best bang for your buck! We worked through our entire home in 4 hour stints on a weekly basis and completed this task in 4 weeks. Even as I was slowing down and losing momentum, Kendra would keep going. She swiftly weighs up what needs to be done in each space/area and I saw the progression as each hour passed, it kept me motivated to sense this accomplishment in small chunks of time. Decluttering, donating, selling, reorganizing, these tasks lead to procrastination and are easy to prioritize over because life gets busy. The problem is, the problem doesn't go away, it just mounts and becomes overwhelming. I continuously addressed smaller areas over the years, but it wasn't enough. After several moves and kids, I needed to have someone like Kendra come in and give our home an overhaul. Only by getting larger areas worked on in much less time than doing it alone, could I then better work the flow of our home and family schedules to figure out what made sense to us so that everything was easily accessible, dead spaces became functional and useable items were not forgotten about. Don't underestimate the joys of opening a drawer or a cupboard and feeling like you can actually breath and pick out what you need immediately versus opening and rummaging through several drawers and cupboards around your home before finding what you need (if you ever do indeed find it). Thanks to Kendra and her warm positive energy, my daily life and family run much more efficiently and our home feels more spacious. As a bonus, I enjoyed Kendra's company, a true delight to work with! Kendra is professional and efficient. She told me from the start that 3 hours was about as much time as most people could handle in one session, and she was right on. But wow we sure did accomplish a lot in that time. We concentrated on closets this time. She kept me on pace and encouraged me to make the decisions that I needed to. She complimented my taste in having acquired the items in the first place, but encouraged me to part with things whose time had passed. Kendra was a life saver. I was in the process of downsizing from a 4 bedroom home in California to a 2 bedroom 1230 square foot apartment in downtown Brooklyn. Just the thought of going through all my possessions was daunting. Kendra came in and gave me specific tasks, mark what I wanted to move, sell and donate. She then coordinated with the moving company and actually packed most of the items for me. She works very fast and is very focused. I was not able to be around most of the time and Kendra functioned basically as another me. Still can't believe that I CAN WALK INTO MY WALK-IN CLOSET! It's a miracle and the first time I've been able to say that in 5 years. My husband almost had a heart attack when he came home last night. The fist thing that comes to mind when I think about my experience with Kendra and her method of healthy organizing is a giant sigh of relief. Now that we have gone through the process, I have so much extra space in my house and closets that I can barely believe it. In three hours, Kendra helped me remove 10 years worth of collected clothing, outdated housewares that I had been holding onto for no apparent reason. I was terrified that I would struggle with letting each individual thing go (as I have always been one to attach sentimental value to things) but that was not the case.
