I used their services to clean an one-bedroom apartment after a tenant moved out. I needed it cleaned within 2 days before the next tenant moves in. Mabel Services responded to my inquiry right away and offered the lowest price. We were able to schedule the appointment for the next day between 3-4 pm but they texted me later on the appointment day that they would be there after 4 pm because another job was taking longer than expected. Paola and another woman arrived around 4 pm and said the job would take 2 hours. I told them the company initially quoted a price for 1-1/2 hours but if they needed 2 hours, that would be fine with me because I wanted it cleaned. After 1-1/2 hours, Paola said they were done. I went to look at the apartment and was horrified to see a lot of mildew still on the bathroom window and on the ceiling above the shower. Also, there were cobwebs in the ceiling of the living room. I pointed these out to her and she said it will take more time. I told her to take as much time as she needed because I wanted the whole apartment cleaned. At 6 pm, Paola told me everything was done. I gave a cursory look and paid for her services. After she left, I took a closer look and found areas that were not sufficiently cleaned. I chose this company because of the good Yelp reviews and they quoted the cheapest price. When Mabel later learned of my concerns, she promptly sent out cleaners to complete the job to my satisfaction. She said there was miscommunication in that the cleaners thought they had to clean the apartment in only 1-1/2 hours and that's why the areas were left unfinished. I admit that the apartment had a lot of mildew in the bathroom which would normally take 2 hours to clean alone. As a result, the apartment was cleaned to my satisfaction. I was shocked. Legitimately shocked. We have an apartment that is approximately twenty years old and have been through three landlords just in the time we've been there. We have a monthly service and have added on cleanings as needed without a problem by texting Mabel. The ladies who work for her are extremely hardworking. I have been really impressed with their attention to detail. They will clean out the crumbs in your toaster as well as clean off the mat underneath the dish drying rack. The cleaning services may be good, but I won't know because she canceled the appointment on me with 3 hours notice. I had asked for a quote on July 18th for a cleaning on Sunday, July 21st. I received her quote and wanted to move forward with using her services. Next day, the 19th, after 5:00pm she asked for photos of the place so she could determine what would be needed and she gave me her cell phone number. I was at a wedding that evening so I didn't get her message until the next day. Next day (Sat., the 20th), I wrote to her at 11:50am on Yelp that the place was renovated last year and that I had seen it recently and it was in good shape. I told her it was a very small one bedroom apartment. I told her I couldn't send photos because I rent it out, don't live nearby, and the tenants were in the process of moving out. I also texted to the cell phone number she provided that I had responded to her message on Yelp so she would know. She wrote me back at 11:58am that she could be there on Sunday at 10:30am. I wrote back and said "sounds great. thank you." Sooooo, at this point, even if she has more questions, which she did like where to park, I'm thinking we have a scheduled time. I responded to her additional questions on Saturday on the cell # she provided and also later in the day on Yelp. Turns out she had accidentally given me a wrong cell number that I had been texting. I know that was an accident, but even so my last text to her on Yelp was in the 7:00pm hour on Saturday and it had my cell phone number in it. She texted me this morning, Sunday, 7:19am telling me Yelp wasn't working and she recently got my Yelp message. She said that she had been trying to get my cell phone number because Yelp is slow. She told me that she didn't prepare for today. (WHAT?) She told me she could do the cleaning tomorrow (Mon.) afternoon. My new tenant moves in Monday which is why I was adamant from the beginning that the cleaning had to be on Sunday. So now, I'll be changing my plans for the day, I'm off to buy supplies, pack my car up with vacuum, and head over to clean it myself. read more
