Everyone here is really helpful and knowledgeable. They have a great product selection as well! I have always had really spot-on recommendations for products, so I have not had to return anything other than one time, but their policy is very generous. I only returned a slow feed bowl because my dog's nose was too short for that specific one, so no one's fault and it was a real breeze to get that taken care of. I find myself spending a solid 20 minutes or more in this store browsing around when I intended to run in and out for one thing, and I'm not at all mad about it. read more

CUSTOMER SERVICE, Healthy Pet, they get it. I came across this place completely at random about three years ago. Whenever I've stopped by to replenish our dog's shampoo, pick up a new toy, and more, I've never left as an unhappy customer. The employees greet you upon arrival, check up on you as you peruse the store and are cheerful at the counter. They engage with you at each point during your visit. I'll keep this short. Four stars for great customer service and quality products, minus one for the prices that are a tad ruff (pun intended). If it helps, the durability of each product tends to outweigh the high price tag. Come here when you're ready to spoil your pooch. read more

Product line looks fantastic and they have a huge stock! The self serve dog wash station is a nice touch. They made it very simple to exchange a Lupine collar and I really appreciate that. BUT, wont be back for 2 reasons. Distance; which they can't do anything about so I don't hold it against them. The other reason is a French Bulldog I believe is an employee or company owner's dog as it has a bed behind the register. We walked in and the dog came out immediately and started growling at my Husky, not cute. My dog hid behind me and honestly I was a bit concerned about the dogs behavior but more so that the 3 employees within 5 ft did nothing to remedy the situation. Every single individual at healthy pet is so knowledgeable and they have helped me find the perfect food for all 3 of my pets - a senior cat who has had a life threatening illness, a corgi who wants to eat everything but obviously can't but I can give her more food daily than most corgis eat because they helped me find a food that won't get her fat, and a giant mutt who is already having joint issues at 4. read more

Highly recommended. It's a local pet store but it isn't some tiny dump with only a few choices and crazy high prices. The place looks great inside and the people who work there are really helpful and knowledgeable. They sell my dog's food (can't find it elsewhere in Austin) and they also give a Go Local discount. The advice we've been given when we've shopped here has been amazing, and we are now doing all of our dog shopping here. This is how great they are, the very first time we shopped there, we were getting ready to spend $50 on a shirt designed to cover a wound for our dog who had just had surgery. They recommended a free solution instead, which lost them a sale that day, but which was the right advice. We have never gotten bad service before and I look forward to having an excuse to go there. The people that work here are amazing. It's always a great experience in there but today I came in without my dog since I'm currently on crutches and they immediately asked if they could help with anything. They picked up the (very large) dog food I needed from the floor level and carried it to the check out where they threw in some Halloween treats for free. They carried it all to my car and made sure I could get it inside once home. They just made the whole experience as easy as possible and I really appreciate it. I've been coming here since around the time they first opened. The owner is very nice and knows his stuff about things. I've honestly bought things there that I find a really great deal on mainly treats. It's cute they have fresh cookies and treats up front. I also get some treats that last a while so I don't have to constantly give them treats. They have sensitive stomachs and Trevor told me just what to use n never had any issues from what we've used to the point we never switch up from the variety I've selected. We're happy when we shop here. It's almost an hour drive so we don't come as much as we'd like. But it's always an easy trip and great products & service! read more

This place is bad...because we're going to spend all of our money here. This is a great store for a wide variety of products ranging from organic food, organic treats, so many toys, and lots of other misc. items that your dog may need. Easy 5-star. When we lived down south, we would walk to Healthy Pet every weekend with our pups in order to get them a treat. The owner is fantastically friendly and helpful. They helped me figure out why my kitty was losing hair on his belly (food allergy) and they always have spot on recommendations/advice. I had been wanting to check this place out but I'm usually rushing after my Costco run. The other day I had a leisurely morning doing that and Whole Foods and put Healthy Pet on my list because I needed dog treats for my puppy. When I walked in, I was warmly greeted by the cute Frenchie Bulldog who was very sweet to us. The girl working also greeted us and asked what we were looking for. I was really impressed by the layout and the decor. It's modern and clean without being unwelcoming. The girl helped me pick out some good treats by a brand that I hadn't heard of. My puppy really loved them! She was also super sweet and struck up a conversation. I'd go back more if I lived closer but I will definitely stop by whenever I'm in the area. I want to see more of what they have to offer. I also joined their club and will be getting discounts on food and other products. read more

Here's the kind of store this is: one day when I was in there i was chatting with the owner and he found out I had planned to stop by the night before but had an evening class that would make me arrive about 10 minutes after they close. He said to just call them, that they'd be happy to wait for me to get there. That doesn't mean everyone should start screwing up their closing and I almost didn't mention it, but I did to demonstrate how authentically they prioritize the customer's needs. The staff is welcoming, friendly, helpful, all seem to want to be there, and pretty informed on pet health. They sell a great selection of food and products. They've got frozen raw food and colostrum as well as the usual dry and canned foods. And the usual array of pet products. The store is always clean and well organized. They use the Go Local card and store the info so you don't have to get it out every time, and they store your purchase history so if another family member needs to go make a pet food run and doesn't know what to get, the staff can know and help them find the correct food. With so many great reviews there's not much I can add except it's no surprise that I see nothing but 5 star reviews - it's a solid, good store. read more

Trvevor at Healthy Pet is awesome. He is like the dog food whisper. One of my dogs was gassy and itchy for 13 years of her life. I tried many different dog foods over the years, but nothing really helped until I bought the food Trevor suggested. He told me I can bring the food back if it didn't help and we could try something else, but it worked. My nose thanks you. He also gave me a discount on the food. Went the day before they opened and were invited inside. The own Trevor and his staff were soooo kind and took the time to share great info. with us. The selection of items sold in the store from the treats to the toys are so great! Not your typical stuff! We went back a little over a week after they opened and still received the great service we had received before. I've got Trevor on a mission to find a particular KONG brand toy that we cannot find anywhere anymore. Also, he even said he would order the Blue brand food our boys eat. How great to have a neighborhood store with such an extensive supply of high end / organic/ healthy pet food and products! I also love the story of the Owners - two young guys who were so passionate about animals and raising healthy pets that they decided to pursue their dream and open this store! All employees are very helpful and polite - you can tell that they have pride and a passion for every product they carry.
