I took my little dog in today for a bath and nail trim and first off I got out of the car and he decided to poop and I had used all my poop bags and so I went to The Shaggy Dog Market and they immediately stepped up to help me out with a bag! My dog had an appointment next door at The Shaggy Dog Groomer and they took the bag and disposed of it. They always take such good care of me and my dog. I am so disappointed on having to give this location a 1 star the name Shaggy dog does not fit there name. I called to make an appointment today for a dog wash . I have a Shaggy dog we all know it dosnt take 30min. to wash and blow dry. Today its raining outside , The rain finally stopped and I called to find out what they had available for appointments, she said from now up till closing we have all available spots.. I said OK perfect let's go ahead and book 1 PM for an 1hr and 30min then all of a sudden they have become busy. she said I can only book 1 hr today .So then I ask her why aren't you offering to book me for two sessions and she refused , I offered to pay for 2 session. No customer service when it comed to dog washes . They really need to work on customer service.. needless to say I'm taking my dog elsewhere because of the attitude and not willing to accommodate. read more

First off, what a cute little store for your pup!!! We went in looking for Christmas gifts for our Olive the other day. It's in a mini strip mall and is one of the first shops. Walking up it was cute and clean. When we went in, we were greeted and there was tons of stuff to look at. Adorable toys, tons of natural treats, different foods, etc. The man working was very polite and helped us once we were finished browsing around. We ended up getting a duck neck and head for her. Pretty yucky to me, but she loves!! I would highly recommend stopping by if you have a fur baby (dog), you will definitely leave with one or more things! read more

I was there today for the first time to use the self-wash service for two of my dogs and I was SO impressed. They have everything you need to give your pup a great wash and leave smelling great. This is my new favorite pet store! It is close to home, family owned, and has great food options for my dogs. Every time I go in I am immediately greeted by whoever is working. They carry a lot of the same dog food I am used to getting at the other pet store I used to go to, but is too far from home now; plus more options than the other. They also carry Bennebones, which are my girls favorite go to bone that I usually have to order online. Took our 40 pd lab mix for a bath and their dog wash station was fantastic! We had fresh towels waiting for us, a huge variety of shampoo & conditioners, a dryer and even aprons to wear while we washed him to stay as dry as possible! They have everything you could possibly need to wash your dog and you get your own private space to do all of it & only $15! We usually take our dog to a groomer but needed to bring him in since he was so stinky and we will definitely be coming back! The owner is so sweet and helpful and told us how to use everything. Living in the Kyle, TX area always gave me a large struggle when it came to pet store quality. Outside of Petco and Tractor Supply, there wasn't much. Finding a good quality dog food was next to impossible without driving all the way to Austin. Then Shaggy Dog Market opened and I was saved. Their prices are wonderful, their treats and food are healthy and, best of all, absolutely no harmful "training" devices (prong/shock collars) are sold here! They have wonderful bathing stations setup in the shop that you can pay to use, complete with beautifully scented shampoos, leave-in conditioners, blow dryer, and complimentary bandanas. These stations are much better than breaking your back over a bath tub at home! The owner and employees are super familiar with all kinds of dogs and personality types and very respectful of minding your dog, especially if they're nervous like my German Shepherd is. This is a very good shop to help get human socialization training in with your nervous pup. Recently my car had broken down and my dog was completely out of food. I called them and explained the circumstances and they were able to deliver my dog's food later that day; they totally saved me. If you care about your dog's nutrition you won't have a reason to shop anywhere else other than Shaggy Dog, trust me! read more

Are fully stocked with good product for washing; the spray conditioner still smells good, even after a few walks! They also have a cat section, but like the name says, this place is for the dogs! We took my little puppy to get a bath here, cause doing it at home makes it a chore. The self serve baths are amazing, with private little rooms so Fido can just enjoying bonding with his owners. They provide everything you need, from towels, to brushes, to wipes, to soaps and even a fur dryer. The water temp can be adjusted and the stream is gentle on your babies. Best part? Only $12! Such a steal. And can I mention how neat and organized the place was? This place is posh by looks, but homey by nature. On the way out, we purchased some additional good smells cause my nose is sensitive to dog stink. If you are in the area-- or not (we drive in from Wimberley) highly recommend this small business owned shop over going to the big pet stores. I am so glad I found this place. It has the look and feel of a specialty shop without the high prices. Definitely, better prices then most of the other healthy dog food shops I go to. The owner came up to me and greeted both me and my dog as soon as we walked in, which was very warming. I have a super destructive princess dog that likes to see if she can beat her time in destroying any toy I present to her. Craig knew exactly what you I should buy her...even though I was super skeptical as I've seen the aftermath of her determination to kill any toy. Well. He was right!! She hasn't destroyed it....and I went back and bought her 3 more. This place is super community awareness and truly cares about the fur babies that come in to his store. Dog washing station is fantastic. We have a large 85lb lab/Pyrenees mix who easily fit in the tub. Everything you'd need for a bath was in the room and easy to reach...shampoo, brushes, towels, aprons, dryer, cotton balls, etc. And a great price! Love that there will a room with a door to close us in to wash dogs as a have 2 dogs and difficult to do on my own.
