If you are seeking a veterinarian who not only possesses exceptional skills but also genuinely loves and cares for animals, I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Kats and the team at Healthy Pets. Their commitment to providing outstanding care is unparalleled, and they will undoubtedly exceed your expectations. Thank you, Dr. Kats, for being an incredible veterinarian and a true advocate for our furry friends! I have been a loyal client of Healthy Pets, specifically under the care of the wonderful Dr. Kats, since their very first office on Military Trail. It gives me immense pleasure to share my heartwarming experience with Dr. Kats and the exceptional team at Healthy Pets. From the moment I stepped into his office, I knew I had found a place where my furry babies would receive the best care possible. Dr. Kats' genuine love for animals and his passion for veterinary medicine were apparent from our very first meeting. His warmth and compassion created an immediate connection, making me feel confident that my pets were in the hands of someone truly dedicated to their well-being. Dr. Kats' expertise and competency in his field are truly remarkable. He possesses an extensive knowledge base and stays up-to-date with the latest advancements in veterinary medicine. His thoroughness in examining my pets and his ability to explain complex medical conditions in a clear and understandable manner never cease to amaze me. I am grateful for his attentiveness to detail and his willingness to take the time to answer my questions, ensuring that I am well-informed about my pets' health. But it's not just Dr. Kats' exceptional skills that make him truly remarkable; it's his genuine love and affection for animals that sets him apart. He treats my pets as if they were his own, showering them with care, attention, and affection. The level of personalized attention he provides is unparalleled, and it is evident that he treats each patient with the same level of compassion and respect. In addition to Dr. Kats, the entire team at Healthy Pets deserves special recognition. From the friendly and welcoming front desk staff to the skilled and compassionate technicians, everyone plays a crucial role in creating a nurturing environment for pets and their owners. The genuine love they have for animals shines through in every interaction. I am incredibly grateful for the exceptional care that Dr. Kats and the entire team at Healthy Pets have provided to my furry babies over the years. Their unwavering dedication to ensuring the health and happiness of animals is truly admirable. I trust them implicitly with the well-being of my pets and am grateful to have them as part of our extended family. Thank you, Dr. Kats, and the incredible team at Healthy Pets, for being true advocates for our furry babies. You are not just amazing professionals, but also exceptional human beings who have dedicated your lives to the well-being of animals. My pets and I are forever grateful for the extraordinary care you provide. Pierre, Emma, Boots and Johanna

Amazing first time experience turned primary care from now on for all my dog's needs! Ended up choosing Healthy Pets for a second opinion upon my husky (Elsa) was mis-diagnosed with kidney disease at Banfield. Dr Whitsett, Jessi and the whole staff took amazing care and treated us like we've been coming here for years. Can't say enough great things and looking forward to knowing Elsa is in great care moving forward!

They are the absolute best veterinarian! Before coming here, I was never able to find competent, professional and understanding staff at other vets. I have a rescue Great Dane who has some behavioural issues and she is a large dog so it can be difficult to handle her especially in nerve racking environments like the vet. They always make me and my dog feel comfortable and calm and they never make us feel bad for her behavior if ever she freaks out! Everyone there is ALWAYS friendly and offer helpful advice and solutions. My girl Rainbow has come such a long way in 6 months due to their patience and calmness with her!! Highly recommend Healthy Pets for your fur babies, even the anxious ones!

I will always love this vet! They treated my little pug with so much love & kindness all the years he went there. And they gave him the most wonderful sendoff to the rainbow bridge this past October. You couldn't pick a better vet family for your fur baby!

Attached is a photo for context My little dog had a cold, and I came in with him. I was literally escorted outside in the patio area in the heat where some patients hang out waiting for their ride or whatever. I had to ask for a lady to move her purse from the "exam table" so the nurse could take my dog's temperature (he did not have a fever like i told them). They then still proceeded to make us wait outside and literally make the doctor come to us. This is a hospital and emergency place first, maybe have grooming and boarding clients go to another separate section with its own door rather than have a sick animal wait outside or separate the sick and scared pet from its owner for the nurse to literally walk the exact same way inside and still spread any virus around. If it's still the same door and same inside walk, then how is any virus not spread if a nurse does it? Anyways, dubious about the science on that one, but most importantly, after 5 years of going there on/off, this was a first for me at this location. If you go to a clinic, the expectation is that pets there are sick, so yes, there will be viruses in the air... if you want to do it all, then make a separate section for sick and non sick pets. Imagine making sick humans wait outside at an urgent care or hospital to not spread viruses to others inside because it is also a nail salon. Not very logical

I have tried other emergency vets (Coral Springs Animal Hospital and Animal Emergency and Urgent Care Center in Deerfield beach) and found both places to be slow and horribly overpriced. I was really nervous about taking her in due to the potential cost but knew it was life or death so had no other choice and decided to try someplace new based on their good reviews and proximity to my home. I was surprised on arrival how welcoming the facility looked. Nice waiting area with comfortable seating and even snacks and water for distressed pet parents. I was even more surprised that they tended to my pup almost immediately. They induced vomiting quickly and gave her a few other medications that were priced almost the same as what I pay at her regular vet. I could not believe it. Overall it was not a cheap visit (nothing with pets ever is) but it was so much cheaper than other emergency vets I''ve visited. I'm glad there is finally a place that truly cares about helping animals get the help they need and not taking advantage of pet owners in our worst/ most distressing hours. I can't recommend this place enough. I just wish they were open a little bit later! But guess you can't have it all. I was in and out in less than an hour. Truly great experience

I had a very frustrating and disappointing experience at Pet Emergency and Referral Center…read more I came in specifically because my primary vet does not have a CT scan machine, and my 80 lb dog has a growth on his chest that needed imaging. When I checked in, I clearly explained that I was there for a CT scan. The younger staff member at the front desk was polite and checked me in without issue. After waiting, I was seen by Dr. Jessica Martin. She checked my dog's vitals and examined the mass, then confirmed that he would need a CT scan--which is exactly what my primary vet had already told me, and the reason I came in. However, she then informed me that their CT machine cannot accommodate a dog of my size and recommended I go elsewhere. This was extremely frustrating, as it could have been addressed before I was checked in, given that I clearly stated my reason for visiting. The situation became worse at checkout. I was told I needed to pay for the visit, which I questioned since I came in for a CT scan that could not be performed. The younger front desk staff member understood my concern, but another employee, Gretchen, intervened. During the discussion, Gretchen told me that I had not said I needed a CT scan when I checked in, and even stated that if I had said that, it would be a different situation regarding the bill. At that point, the staff member who originally checked me in overheard and confirmed that I did clearly say I needed a CT scan. Despite this, Gretchen immediately reversed course and stated that it didn't matter, that a consultation was done, and that payment was still required. This contradiction was frustrating and made the interaction feel dismissive and unfair. While a brief exam was performed, it ultimately resulted in the same conclusion I already had, without providing the service I came in for. Better communication upfront could have avoided this entire situation. I also want to specifically note the conduct of Gretchen at the front desk. Her tone was dismissive and argumentative, and her inconsistent statements during the interaction only added to the frustration. This reflects poorly on the professionalism and customer care at this facility. I would not recommend this location based on my experience.

We brought my 13.5-year-old dog, here during what turned out to be a life-threatening Addisonian crisis. Despite his age and a Grade 5 heart murmur, we were left waiting for 2.5 hours without being seen by the doctor. At the two-hour mark, a nurse finally came out to the waiting room, and only after I pleaded with them, explaining that he could barely stay on his feet! When she tried to check his gums, my pup snapped at her. Instead of recognizing that a normally gentle senior dog snapping is a major red flag for severe pain and metabolic distress, they actually concluded he was 'stable enough' to keep waiting- because he had the energy to snap. - according to the receptionist. The management here is reckless. Looking at other reviews, it's clear that waiting for hours is the norm, which is completely unacceptable for an emergency facility. We finally followed our gut, left this clinic, and rushed him to VEG where he was seen immediately. It turned out my pup was in a full-blown Addisonian crisis that was actively damaging his kidneys. He required 48 hours of intensive care, precision IV stabilization to survive. Had we listened to the staff here and continued to wait, I don't think my little man would have made it. If your pet is in a crisis, do not risk their life by waiting at this facility.

Every time I have made an appointment (probably 5-6 times now) I am waiting around an hour to receive vet attention, one time was even an oral Bordetella which took 1 minute to administer. 1) The first time I went there was when I first received my puppy she was having a worm issue. I took her in and they had some standard de-wormer they gave her but also took a fecal sample which was like 80$. 2-3 more visits back there she is still having worms. So I do my own research and find out the medication they are giving her only treats certain worms and not tapeworms, which judging by the photo I had (which I showed the vet) clearly looks like tapeworms. So they gave me a different medication and that ended that. 3 visits which should have been 1. Each visit an absurd wait time. 2) When I took my puppy to get spayed my total bill was almost 1300$. I was shocked. Their pricing for everything is over the top. 3) My now 9 month old puppy got sick from a boarding place, was having diarrhea for 2 days and vomiting bile by the second day. I brought her in for an "appointment" which I made over the phone to yet again wait an hour. During my third trip outside (because my dog has diarrhea) I looked up and called another vet nearby to ask if I could get in, they said "absolutely". I went back in and said "You can cancel my appointment, I am going somewhere else" She said, "would you like to reschedule?" I told her that every time I am here I am waiting hours when I make an appointment and my dog here has diarrhea I cant just wait here. The manager came out and was able to get a vet to see her out in the waiting room which I appreciated so I stayed. To speed it up, the vet wanted to carry out 1800$ worth of services/ tests/ medications for my puppy who probably just had stress colitis from boarding. For some stupid reason I said to go ahead with the pancreatitis test and of course the fecal test along with the medications. My bill was still almost $700. They told me I would have the fecal results in 24 hours and its been 2 days now. I even called today and spoke with someone and they never called me back. Thankfully my pup was better within the day after taking medications. I normally do not write reviews but when it comes to a family member and receiving this level of service and in my opinion scamming their patients... I wanted to let anyone who sees this know what they are dealing with.
