DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE. This vet claims refuse to do needed surgeries on animals if they do not have their rabies vaccine. Our dogs almost died from a rabies vaccine and absolutely can not have it per our main vet. Dr . Sheila Santiago D.V.M. states that they can not do surgery on a dog that doesn't have a rabies vaccine, please tell me where in any of your medical training it states that them not having the vaccine keeps them from having surgery. If this is where your medical training took you then people, after being a vet tech for ten years, stay clear of this place. I will post this review any and everywhere to make sure that someone doesn't trust their animal to someone or a place like this. So you will let them not have needed surgeries but you want to kill them with a vaccine they literally CAN NOT HAVE. Look up how rabies is even transmitted and that alone shows you the incompetence of this place. read more

This veterinarian does not listen. In forty years of having pets, never before have I had a bad experience with a veterinarian. We made an appointment to euthanize our twenty-year-old cat to relieve her of her suffering. She has been arthritic and deaf and senile for over two years but we kept her as comfortable as possible and she repaid us with much love and affection and companionship. After twenty years of never going outside of her litter box she was suddenly going everywhere but her litter box and vomiting from her intestines. She was lethargic and stopped being affectionate. For the first time ever, she hissed at the vet either because she was scared or in pain or both. The appointment was for euthanasia, but the vet refused and only wanted to sell us expensive tests. She suggested that we restrict her to one room so that she doesn't mess our entire apartment and even suggested diapers for our poor, suffering little kitty. When I explained that we did not want her to suffer anymore the vet suggested leaving her at a shelter. Who could possibly be so calloused as to suggest leaving a confused and terrified, incontinent, 20-year-old cat at a shelter to endure her last days? As an added frustration, I keep receiving emails from this company to sell me more services despite clicking on unsubscribe numerous times. Happily, we did go on to find an understanding and professional, compassionate veterinarian and our dear little furry friend is now at rest. read more

I had been with my dog because she was vomitating. She requested blood works and x-ray. I didn't at first time. I come back next day and I requested x-ray even it was out of my budget. She did the x-ray and told: "It is normal"It is pancreatic. My dog was really bad. I brought her to Coral Spring Animal Hospital and she (my dog) had a string in her stomach. She had a huge surgery. I brought my puppy once and never more.The worst vet ever. Estive ha uma semana, minha cachorra vomitava, a Dra Sheila, sugeriu exam de sang e radio x, não fiz devido ao valor. A veterinarian diagnostic pancreatic. Voltei sexta cedo, ela fez o raio x e diagnosticou como pancreatite e sugeriu continuar os medicamentos, sendo que um deles era para controlar a diarreia, o que minha cachorra nunca teve nesse momento, foi diarreia. Na mesma sexta-feira levei no hospital de Coral Springs, e ela tinha fragmentos no estomago, onde foi obrigada a fazer uma cirurgia de emergencia, caso contratio teria morrido. Entrei em contato com a veterrinaria e ela alegou que fez o que podia com o meu orcamento, porem ela não soube diagnosticar o que minha cachorra tinha. I was referred by a past employee who raved about how nice Dr Santiago was and I was looking for "my vet" for my new puppy. I wanted someone who was as crazy and affectionate over my baby as I was. The entire staff delivered :) When I called on the phone I was greeted with kindness and remembered when I called back. This "boutique type" (smaller practice) veterinarian center was simple, clean, and professional! "We" felt comfortable right away and my puppy remained calm and relaxed after her blood work and being in the back room, as well as, when I returned the next day for her spay. They called me when she was awake and she looked great when I picked her up. She was great through the night and they called on her the next day. My puppy hasn't even tried to go for her stitches and barely recognizes the surgery even happened and its been 3 days!! I contribute that to the fine craftsmanship of the vet during the procedure and the least amount of trauma to the body! What a blessing Dr. Santiago is to Boca Raton!! Her location is easy to get to from Delray/Boynton and I came from South/East Deerfield area. Even when I brought her back to get her stitches she easily went in to their arms of love! I would highly recommend Animal Kingdom & Dr. Santiago's practice. They also speak Spanish, Portuguese's & English very well. During my visit there I witnessed the same care for other pet owners and their fur babies both young and old. I didn't feel rushed, nor was I recommend any unnecessary items. She even has a "wellness program" for our pets. The things that your insurance won't cover typically. We are happy and I can't wait to have them watch Pepper grow and for us to see the practice bloom too. read more

Dr. Santiago gave us accurate information about our pet's conditions and wasn't overly pushy when it came to tests and treatments. The front-office staff is extremely rude and unprofessional. The first time I went into the office, the older vet tech/receptionist bitched to me about the couple in front of me after they left, complaining that they were there for too long and asked too many questions. I should have charged her a fee for the amount of time she yapped my ear off. Fast forward about 20 minutes, the same vet tech/receptionist YELLED at the younger vet tech for not cleaning the meeting rooms properly after I had exited the room (ew, did my puppy and I sit in an unclean room after the puppy before us had an accident?). The thing that made it worse was that the younger vet tech was yelling back at her, making for a very awkward environment in the waiting room. The vet tech/receptionist needs you to repeat yourself multiple times to update your file in their system. The phone never gets answered and when you get the machine it's the generic robot voice that tells you 'You have reached phone number...'. It would be nice if I called, got the machine and maybe could listen to their business hours or would know who to call in case of an emergency, especially since I am fairly new to the area and completely new to this vet office. The vet herself was nice and explained everything to me and was more than happy to answer any questions I had...but the staff makes me never want to go back. read more

I can not say enough good things about Dr. Shiela Santiago DVM From Animal Kindom Veterinary Center. My dog Milton was in bad shape with his teeth and we were looking for some urgent care. We went to Dr. Shiela on Tuesday and she preformed the Dental surgery yesterday along with a growth removal on my dog's mouth. They stuck to their estimate even though it was a lot more difficult and complicated then we knew. The dog is doing well and we are so pleased with this practice. Zaida and Pamela her office staff are kind, pleasant and professional. Their prices are reasonable and they are honest.. We have found our new Veterinarian for both our dogs. Do not hesitate to try Dr. Santiago. This is the most kind, honest, best diagnostician we have been to in South Florida. She is a true hidden gem of a Veterinarian.
