We came in on Christmas Eve in search of masa for tamales. It was $33 for 10lb of masa (salada), which we decided to buy. They also sell masa for dulce tamales, but we decided to pass on them this year. The pastries looked delightful so we picked up a handful of those as well and some hot chocolate. The Mexican bread was fluffy, sweet and smelled so yummy. They closed @1pm on Christmas Eve which is a life saver for last minute tamales shoppers such as ourselves. The tamales we made came out absolutely amazing... a little greasy but oh so good!

We came in to get a cake the day of and they had four ready made cake flavors: white, marble, chocolate, and tres leches. Staff was very friendly and helpful and offered to write a note on the cake. We got the marble cake and it had light frosting, moist cake, and strawberry filling inside, for a good price as well.

Hard to decide whether this is a four or five. It depends what you're looking for. Great prices, lots of options, and with the feel and taste of South of the border. I was lucky to be greeted by a customer sitting outside playing the guitar. This was my first time at this café. It's a little different than most. Pick up a round tray and some tongs and then fill it up. Two turnovers and a cookie we're under five dollars. What a deal. There are apple turnovers, strawberry turnovers, cinnamon rolls, cookies, almond croissants, and so many pastry items. Coffee is self service with many drip coffee options but no lattes. You can buy the mix for making your own fresh tortillas and more. Some of the mixes are offered without lard. Bring cash. The prices are great. The service is with a smile. Even if there's a bit of a line, it moves very fast. Oh, and you can pick up ibarra chocolate to make your own Mexican hot cocoa at home There is a parking lot right next door and some street parking.

LA Bella Rosa Cake Shop was recommended to us by our Wedding Coordinator - Epic Wedding and Events for our destination wedding in Santa Barbara. When we arrived for our cake tasting we originally thought it was a pandaria. However their cake shop is just across the parking lot. We were provided with 3 cute cakes. We selected 3 tiered marble with strawberry filling and a non dairy frosting and a red velvet with chocolate mousse cake. It was delicious. Our guests loved it. We provided our design vision and they were able to replicate to a "T" . The price was very reasonable. I will say, it did take a bit to connect with them, but be patient because it was definitely worth it. I would highly recommend La Bella Rosa . Our guest talked about our wedding cake after the wedding.

Small Mexican bakery that is popular for baked goods and tamales! My friend recommended this place for a quick and cheap breakfast. I got a concha and a besos pan dulce. Chocolate concha ($1.25): sweet bread roll with a crunchy and sweet chocolate covering. Tasty but bread was a little more dense than I'm used to. Besos pan dulce ($2): I had to google this one to figure out it's name, apparently also known as a strawberry coconut yoyo. It was the most unique looking one on the shelf, so I decided to try it. Two dome shaped moist breads "kissing" (besos) each other with a thin layer of cream in between. Rolled in a strawberry glaze with coconut. Surprisingly not too sweet. I'll have to come back next time for their tamales!

    Tres leches cake

I came here to get my boyfriend his birthday cake. I got a tres leches cake with a variety of fruit on top. It was good and I was able to pick it up on the same day I asked. The only problem was I thought it was going to be more moist as tres leches is supposed of be moist/wet. It still tasted good though but for the price, I wish it would've been a little more wet. I also picked up some conchas and other Mexican bread. All was so tasty.

The wait can be a tad long (but nothing longer than you'd expect for a brunch spot). Instead of placing your name on a waitlist, you stand in line outside along the beach while staff begin handing out menus. Once inside, it's order at the front and self seating afterwards. I highly recommend sitting outside if possible. The calm ocean winds and sunny atmosphere is just perfect for a nice brunch. My table ordered 4 dishes and enjoyed each one. The lemon poppyseed pancake was not too sweet and had paired perfect with the fresh blueberry jam. And the Norwegian benedict was lovely. I would highly recommend these two items! Overall, this is a must-go brunch spot in Santa Barbara.

The cashier umm they're okay, the person outside while we were waiting was super kind and passed out menus to us while telling us everything but the items and constantly updating making the wait not miserable. I like the staff. Now onto the food and drinks, so I didn't take a photo of my drinks but I did get the chai latte and lowkey I think it was pretty good, not the best but good. My family members also got drinks such as the house brewed coffee and the latte, all pretty good I can't lie but again, still not the best but it adds to that brunch experience. They do charge for hot water (0.5 cents) and then another 0.5 for lemons in there... but like okay... They do give out free water!! You go up and get it yourself. So Eduardo's omelette: I personally just am not a big fan of all the omelette action but my dad liked it and you can tell it's a good portion of food, tasted decent Lemon Poppy Seed Pancakes: VERY STRONG, wasn't expecting a very strong lemon poppy seed taste but it kind of hits you in the mouth. With syrup and the whip cream they give, it tastes good! Lobster Benedict: best thing ever, lobster is good tasting and doesn't taste fishy, eggs perfectly made to how you custom it (for all dishes) Norwegian benedict: delicious

The tea was also SOOO strong and you can tell they use quality powder. I'm craving the strawberry matcha or hojicha again as im writing this. The black sesame matcha was good too but the black sesame definitely dominated the matcha so it felt like i was just drinking black sesame cream which i love black sesame but just wished there was a stronger matcha taste. I'd recommend this drink if you're looking for more of a creamier, dessert-like drink. As for the treats, the ube mochi muffin was my favorite. It was my first time trying a mochi muffin and I liked how chewy it was! We went too late so they ran out of all mochi donut flavors except the cinnamon one but it was still good cuz it tasted like a churro :) i NEED to come back so i can try the rest of the drinks and desserts...until next time the wait is pretty long ~30mins to 1 hour probably depending on when you go. i went on a saturday afternoon and a sunday morning and had to wait both times interior is INSANELY cute and well decorated!

Everything is high quality and fresh for reasonable prices. Charming, cozy decor with Danish accents. Service is also excellent and warm. Quiche with Hollandaise Sauce - Light, buttery flaky crust, light, fluffy eggs. Absolutely delightful, leeks provided good texture. Came with a strip of bacon. Was so amazing hardly ate the sauce. Don't think you can sub salad for fries but no worries, as the breakfast potatoes were amazing. Many places offer breakfast potatoes but something seemingly simple is actually hard to make well. My friend's Bratwurst Sausage with Eggs, her favorite, was hearty and filling. A lot of indoor seating but we enjoyed our table outside, watching pedestrians on State St. and enjoying the beautiful scenery and architecture. We expected to wait to be seated but surprisingly it wasn't that busy. Order at counter and the food is brought to your table. As we waited, employee kindly gave us two free pastry samples, both delicious. All the baked goods I got to go I want again. Their scones are fabulous-slightly crunchy on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside. Their tea service which comes with champagne is pricey, I believe $75 per person. But interior is a perfect colorful and relaxed setting for tea. My tastebuds dream of coming back. Will be thrilled when I next indulge on their pastries and quiche.

There was only one person in line and 4 staff members behind the counter standing around talking to each other. Nobody greeted us or asked for our bakery order. When I said excuse me to a dirty blond girl she replied "WHAT!" and continued to joke with a co worker. When the cashier finished with their customer they walked away and even though they saw we were waiting to be helped. I looked around and saw nobody helping seated customers or us at the bakery counter. Finally, the dirty blonde ask what we need and my response was "WHAT" ?! At this point we should have left and gone to Lilac Patisserie however we proceeded to give her our order. I told another customer behind us that rudeness seems to be the norm, and she agreed. I paid for our bakery items and asked an older woman scrolling on her phone if we could have a bag for all of our boxed treats. She grabbed a handful of bags and threw them at me from across the counter. We were appalled and left. We found a place to sit on State street to eat our treats and my daughter said she didn't want her Meringue because the dirty blonde girl used the back of her ungloved hand to repeatedly wipe her nose. We threw all $50 worth of baked goods in the trash. Yes, I should have gone back and complained I'm had everything refunded but it was Mother's Day and we didn't want anything more to do with this establishment. It was also an epiphany that they don't treat everyone this way. It could be you next time. Please go somewhere else. We will never go to anywhere but Lilac Patisserie which is to the left as you exit Andersons, past the stop light. You will definitely get your money's worth and the staff is friendly, professional, and greet you immediately as you reach the counter.
