Ellen is a gem!! My mom needed to get a new hearing aid. We have tried everywhere, including the House Ear Institute and she just couldn't (a) someone caring; and (b) a decent hearing aid provided through MediCare/Med-CAL. A neighbor recommend Ellen and therefore, I made the appointment. From the beginning, Ellen was very kind, caring and compassionate with my mom. Even though Kaiser took a hearing test, Ellen took her own hearing test. Based on my mom's profound hearing loss, she recommend a brand that she felt would be a good match for my mom. Now, keep in mind - hearing aids are very different from each other. And it's not like getting new pair glasses. Each one is different and because of that, it's important to have an Hearing Aid Specialist who is familiar with the various brands out there. They need to know which brands work best for each specific person. No one person has the same hearing loss issues. And while you can try out a hearing aid for 30 days and then decide if you want to keep it, when you are dealing with insurance, especially Medicare/Med-CAL, you really don't have their act together, you really don't want to mess around with going back/forth. That being said, the brand my mom got made such a difference for her, even though she doesn't realize it. And it made it a difference for quality of life. Ellen allowed my mom to come back and get adjustments and was always kind and accommodating. She even helped my mom get her old analog hearing aid fixed, by sending out to a company that still deals with analog hearing aids. I can't recommend Ellen enough and if you are at all hesitant about getting a hearing aid, please see Ellen. She will spend the time with you and give you an honest assessment of what should work best for you. She will help save your hearing and improve your quality of life. I don't even know where to start. First of all, for past 6 years I was fitted with a wrong hearing aid that had a dome tip instead of custom mold as I have pretty significant hearing loss. I struggled with understanding speech and my work was increasingly becoming a challenge. I made an appointment with Ellen and she told me what was going on and why I'm having problems with my hearing aid. I had a 6 yo Phonak, pretty basic model. Ellen was very professional and attentive. My previous hearing aid dude wasn't listening to what I was saying. He didn't understand what I meant and he didn't know how to properly program my hearing aid. I wish I found Phillip and Ellen sooner but better now than never. I ordered a ReSound hearing aid that's made for Apple devices so it links with my IPhone 6. I needed a custom mold. I waited 2 weeks for my hearing aid and mold and yesterday I had my appointment . I feel like a huge weight is off my shoulders and I'm enjoying my work more as I don't have to ask questions over and over . I understand everything the first time. ReSound hearing aid that I got is simply amazing.It has cool features and I'm loving it. The best part is,I have zero feedback,no whistling like with my old hearing aid, sound quality is better and I can control my hearing aid with my phone.How cool is that. So that's briefly about the hearing aid. Now Ellen ( Phillip,you're a nice guy too,very pleasant) , she is simply amazing. She goes above and beyond to help . She understands what it means to struggle with hearing loss. We live in very judgmental society. The first experience I had with these people was very pleasant. They fixed my grandmother's hearing aid quickly and the price was reasonable...BUT...when we returned a few weeks later to have one hearing aid cleaned, an employee named Phillip was EXTREMELY rude to my 91 year old grandmother!!! The Hearing Station is a LIFE-SAVER! I managed to break my Dad's hearing aid in December, last year. The local hearing-aid stores in his central Florida town wanted to sell him a new one for $800-$2,500. They swore up and down that they could not repair his, and that we wouldn't want them too anyway, as it was "a few years old" and that there was "new, better technology now." We;;, this MAY be true, but his worked just fine for him before I got hold of it. So I took to Google in order to find a better alternative. I read an article someone had written that talked a lot about what a scam the hearing-aid business is, and that the prices they charge are extremely marked-up, and that they really don't want to help out folks who just need a small repair - they want a big mark-up on new items, or charge way too much for repairs, if they will do them at all... In his article he mentioned finding a small shop in California, because they had a sign up somewhere near the airport he was in. I searched some more, and ultimately found Ellen and her crew at The Hearing Station... BUT, am I glad I DID! Ellen is a true professional. She took the time to explain their process to me, and pricing, which is VERY reasonable for the quality of service they provide. She even talked to my Dad on the phone (he lives in another state than me). She is just as nice as can be, and my Dad just loved their service. When it was all said and done, they fixed and thoroughly cleaned his hearing aid, and it works as good as new! And all for a very low price. My repair was only about $189, plus shipping. I can not recommend these fine folks highly enough. If you need quality work done on a hearing aid that maybe others have told you would be very expensive to fix, or to not fix at all but buy a new one... talk to the pros at The Hearing Station first!! Through out the years I have suffered from partial loss of hearing. During this time I have been to many hearing aid offices. I have been here on two occasions. The first time was the first attempt with hearing aids. I guess I was a bit early for them. Even though she ordered me a pair of custom aids she took them back without any pressure to keep them. Full refund! The other store I went to were to high pressure and pushed their brand aids hard. But here you feel no pressure to buy. She knows that if your not ready yet you will be back in the future. Just like I did. She sells most all the brands and she knows which is best for your loss. She is very generous with the amount of time to adjust your aids, even if they are just "TEST" versions of hearing aids. P.S. This is my first ever Yelp review. This place is so great I had to do it! I found myself caring for my 91 year old Aunt and needed to get her older hearing aids working. By luck I phoned this place and liked the vibe over the phone and went in. AMAZING. Her hearing aids were fine just needed some adjusting. They put new buds on them, taught me how they worked, how to replace batteries, etc. The guy spent 30 minutes with me and I left an expert. I can't say enough good about my experience. I have a seven year old Widex Inteo hearing aid. I've become accustomed to an issue or two with it every two or three years. I've had it successfully repaired in the past by the audiologist who fitted me for it originally but for one reason or another, it was always a hassle and the customer service was less than desirable. Recently, I had some problems with my aid. I decided to look for another place to have it repaired and I did a Google search. Three places came to the top -- a place in Texas, one in Orange County, and The Hearing Aid Station. I emailed all three. Ellen from the Hearing Aid Station emailed me back immediately with a quote and an estimated repair time. The company in Texas responded two weeks later. The company in Orange County never responded. The choice was easy. I scheduled an appointment with Ellen, the place was easy to find, parking was available in a garage for the complex, and the office was very comfortable. Ellen spent time with me describing hearing aid innovation as well as the technical aspects of my device. She told me that she would send the aid to be repaired at the price she quoted. She told me that she would give me a loaner. In the past, I had come to expect a sub-standard device that does little more than amplify the sound. Not this time. Ellen has a stock of top of the line loaners. She even gave me a complete hearing test so she could correctly fit the loaner to my hearing. That in itself was an amazing first. She told me the repair would take 2 weeks. It was back in nine days. I wasn't even able to get over to pick it up when it was ready. I picked it up a few days later. The aid was like new. I couldn't have been more pleased. I highly recommend Ellen and The Hearing Aid Station for those in need of hearing aid repair -- and based on Ellen's knowledge, I'd recommend them for the purchase of a new hearing aid. read more

In all my interactions with the office manager Phillip, he has been very rude. The office overall seems disorganized. 1) First impressions: When I called to ask about getting custom earplugs for sleep, Phillip was impatient with my questions. 2) In the office: During my appointment, Ellen was on the phone with computer support at the same time. 3) Getting my earplugs: Phillip called me to tell me my earplugs were ready. When I asked when I could pick them up, he said with attitude, "WELL, you COULD just pick them up, but I would HIGHLY suggest you make an appointment, and I don't EVEN have anything for the next couple of weeks." 4) Picking my earplugs: The whole point of making an appointment to pick up my earplugs was to see Ellen to make sure the earplugs were fitting properly. I did not see her. I saw another woman who just read me the instructions for using the earplugs. 5) Getting my earplugs re-done: My earplugs did not fit properly. I called Ellen about this, and she said that she would ask the company to make them again - I was relieved. This part went well! She said that they would be ready in 2 weeks. 6) Earplugs delayed: More than 3 weeks passed and no word from Hearing Station - why didn't anyone follow-up with me? When I called Ellen, she said that they were in transit and she would have a rush placed on them. 7) Getting my earplugs: Phillip called me to tell me my earplugs were ready. When I asked when I could make an appointment to pick them up, he said the next morning. When I asked him if he had anything else later in the day, he said with attitude, "WELL, as it is I'm squeezing you in, so I guess I COULD fit you in later." I hope I get my earplugs at this point and that what I spent a lot of money on actually works. There is no need to make getting earplugs an unpleasant experience and the customer service here could be a lot better. read more

I used to dread dealing with anything related to my hearing, now I look forward to it! After a lifetime of nothing but bad experiences with audiologists and hearing aid technicians, Ellen has been a breathe of much needed fresh air. Where other places rush through the process of testing my hearing, selling me a product and rushing me out the door, Ellen takes her time to really understand my hearing issues and fine tune my hearing aids, doing such a good job that my current pair of hearing aids, while being much cheaper than previous sets I have had, work for me infinitely better than anything I have had in the past. When tuning she takes time to converse with me, has me pick out music to listen to and even walked outside with me to try out different setting in street traffic. No other place compares in my experience. If I were to move across the country I would probably find myself flying back to Glendale just for her services... It would be worth it! read more

They did a really good job and weren't expensive at all but I must say, the man who works here can come off as a bit curt. He really seemed kind of annoyed by our questions. Being a cash customer - I have no health insurance - I waited entirely too long to seek an evaluation for my hearing issues. But on the reccomendation of (yelled by) a friend, I made an appointment at Hearing Aid Station, in Glendale. Even though I now live in Las Vegas, I frequent the L.A. area at least three times yearly. Upon arrival I had the pleasure of working with the technician, Ellen.To say that I was pleasantly suprised would be an understatement! She was pleasant, professional and seemed very interested in listening to my concerns. After a trip to the sound-booth for the FREE hearing test, Ellen spent more than fifteen minutes patiently explaining the results, and my options for improving my ability to hear more clearly. After much consideration, I decided on the Siemens, model 501, hearing-aid. It's been three weeks, and after a follow-up to make some tweaks/adjustments, and I am absolutely thrilled with this tiny device! It is so wonderful that it feels like a gift from above. At least three close friends of mine have commented about how much less annoying I am now that they don't have to repeat things over and over, and asked why I waited so long? I was concerned with choosing the right hearing aid and thought the experience would be geared toward people much older than myself- in hindsight, it was pretty silly for me to have thought that hearing aids were only for the elderly! Ellen and Phillip are, in a word, PRICELESS! I can't even begin to tell you how many times both Ellen and Phillip have come to our RESCUE regarding my Uncle's hearing aids! First off, they spent so much time with us initially outfitting my Uncle with the proper hearing aids a year or so ago, and subsequent to that, they have bailed us out of a jam numerous times with issues regarding simple wax build up on the hearing aids, requests for battery replacements & wax guards, and even the latest issue of a lost hearing aid replacement (think FedEx and delivery issues at Christmas!) when my elderly Uncle actually lost one of his hearing aids before the holiday season. Ellen and Phillip are both very proficient in what they do individually, and working as a team, they are the dynamic duo! We have never experienced such a high level of expertise and customer service as they and the Hearing Aid Station provide.
