Since I own rental properties, I have used all of the big-named A/C companies (Del-Aire, American, and more). I need A/C companies often. I found that each and every time I called upon one of those other companies for an issue or for regular maintenance, I always needed SOMETHING beyond my normal contract (e.g. to clean coils, blue light, capacitor , etc.), Then I discovered that the techs were commissioned! That's why I always needed a capacitor or something else. Not with Heart! They are honest, punctual, and dependable. I wouldn't use anybody else. Ask for Ralph. He's the greatest! read more

I don't want to say that their service is bad, but the question is "AT WHAT COST?" I hired them for a leaking condensation pipe that needed new insulation and also reconnect the Dryer duct to outside. Obviously the material would be probably less than $10. It took the technician, who was savvy and friendly total 45 MINUTES from start to end to finish the job, and they charged me $475! When I talked to Kevin, the owner to revisit the invoice, he said: "Let me explain you something; when I went to the hospital the other day for a minor procedure, they charged me thousands of dollars". read more

I recently had the pleasure of working with Heart Heating & Air, and I have to say that I was thoroughly impressed with the level of service I received. From start to finish, the team at Heart Heating & Air were professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. I initially reached out because my AC quit working right before the July 4th weekend while we were hosting family from out of town. Katie answered the phone and was friendly and courteous, and they scheduled an appointment right away. We weren't home when the technician could come out so we gave him a temporary code to the front door because we have cameras we knew we could see what was going on. They quickly identified the problem and while the part wasn't available, they were able to create a temporary solution so we could at least have A/C. When the technicians came out later to make the final repair, they were professional, introduced themselves and quickly diagnosed the issue. They determined that we could make an expensive repair, but the unit was at the end of its life and we would be better off replacing it. We decided to wait to save a little money, but to also shop around for the best price. After speaking with a couple other companies, we found that the unit did in fact need to be replaced and that Heart Heating & Air had the best price. The install team was also professional, introduced themselves and advised us what we could expect for the day. They were very knowledgeable and identified a device from the power company that would need to be disconnected during the install. They also told us that the part was part of a program from the power company and that by participating we should be getting a discount on our bill (the home was purchased as a foreclosure and we didn't know about it). What impressed me most about Heart Heating & Air was their commitment to transparency. They provided me with a clear outline of the cost associated with both the repair and the replacement, so I knew exactly what I was paying for. Additionally, they took the time to explain the steps involved in the process and gave me several pointers so I knew exactly what to expect and could take the best care of my system to ensure its long life. The price was great also! The technicians were all courtesy, professional, and efficient. They arrived on time, worked quickly, and left my home nice and clean. They even took time to answer questions and research what they didn't know so I could make the best decisions regarding the maintenance of my air conditioner and heater. LONG but please read - moral of the story YOU'RE IN THE WRONG PLACE and need to contact Extra Air Conditioning & Heating in Port Orange, even if you're in Deltona like me. Last weekend our attic-based air conditioning system suddenly turned off at the exact same time that one of us was up there unplugging a drain hole that a painter plugged, which was causing a leak in our garage.  While the air conditioning system is old, I felt that the timing of the situation had more to do with something being stepped on/bumped in the attic, moreso than the A/C system happening to just "die of old age".  A friend of a friend referred us to Heart Heating & Air for help checking into this situation. We told the guy they sent over here (for $89) the situation and my suspicion that it was something simple causing it to not get power suddenly. It's difficult to read the name from the work order but it looks like a Brian. This guy seemed irritated to be here to begin with, and after a few minutes in the attic he comes down and tells us there's nothing they can do to fix this system, and we need a new one.  Skeptical, I reiterated my concerns about the timing of everything, and he reassured me it was a coincidence, and that it was just that thing's time to go. He didn't have any cause for the failure to list, just that it is "in visibly poor condition and has no low voltage". The timing of this was particularly bad as my dad is in here on hospice, dying of multiple cancers.  As such we are not in the position to fork over $7k for a new system, and identity theft complications have my parents' credit frozen currently (a situation I am working on daily, and expedited with this news of the A/C unit failing) so we cannot even finance it if we wanted to.  After the finance people came over and confirmed we cannot finance this new system currently, I took to the internet and homeadvisor for some help. I laid out our situation and reiterated the story of the timing of what happened over the weekend, and in no time I had received calls and emails from Extra Air Conditioning and Heating, 40 minutes away in Port Orange. I spoke on the phone with their very pleasant scheduling woman (Serena? I'm bad with names) and she had folks on the way within 90 minutes.  Ken, the technician who arrived, was absolutely amazing and everything we could have hoped for.  He had all the details I laid out prior to arriving, and went to work in the attic, on the thermostat, in the electrical panel and outside on the big loud fan thing with a voltmeter (I am not a tool guy and know none of the proper terminology). In less than 20 minutes, Ken had figured out that it was merely a transformer that died of old age, NOT the A/C system.  He didn't have one on his truck, but wanted to take care of us immediately, having walked in past my dad baking in his hospital bed in the living room. He called his boss and laid out the situation, and his boss raced out to grab the part needed before the part shops closed, and drove it 40 minutes out to us in Deltona to get everything up and running again.  He did Freon and pressure checks once everything was operational, and confirmed we were AOK.  Ken made my day/week/year with this news - and given that it looks like today may be my dad's last day, words cannot express how grateful I am that they contacted me from homeadvisor, and that we aren't over here baking together and figuring out how to add an unnecessary $7000 expense to the mandatory ones that are mounting over here medically. Given the way everything went down with this, I feel like Heart Heating & Air should at the very LEAST refund us the $89 they took in exchange for coming in to tell us our A/C system is old.  I won't go chasing them over it, but I would sure NEVER call them again or give them another dime. I will be telling this story on every review site I can, and making sure anybody who utters a word about anything HVAC related within earshot of me, hears this story and knows they need to call Extra Air Conditioning and Heating in Port Orange no matter what their problem is, even over here in Deltona.  I'll tell them to ask for Ken too, but I would imagine everyone there is awesome, because the boss is awesome and that's how things work at a great company. Thank you so much Ken, boss whose name I didn't get, and Extra Air Conditioning for saving us and making a really bad week so much better than it might've been! When it comes time for us to replace this system, we won't be calling ANYBODY but you. I highly recommend that anyone reading this do the same. read more

One word: Amazing! I have to say I was super impressed by the service provided. I called at 8am on Saturday morning and the Tech was here at 9am. Exceeded my expectations. Everyone contacted me with updates which was excellent. I initially called other places the day before and after giving me appointments no-one showed up or called, it was very frustrating. Now I know who to call. Heart Heating & Air was professional, reliable , knowledgable and unbelievably quick in assessments and repairs. They will not take advantage of you, it was definitely priced right and will explain everything done in detail. I was leaking freon for months in my A/C. This is a new unit. The system did not cool. I had called two other A/C companies who took days to get there and even said they were just there and it was fine and never made it back, saying maybe it was something I was doing. No. It did not cool and I called Heart Heating and Air and Wow! they were at my door in fifteen minutes and found the problem immediately and repaired and filled my A/C with freon and you can tell when they know what they are doing and took care of the problem and they were so nice to deal with from the first phone call right on through. We are so lucky to have them here and I recommend them-in a heartbeat! to you. They are my A/C company from now on. read more

It was 4am on a Sunday morning when my wife heard a loud dripping noise coming from our air intake . So we opened the vent and looked and there was indeed a constant leak . About 5 of them . So we called and made an emergency appointment that day . The tech that came out took a look and said he knew exactly what it was without looking at anything . He just knew . Google all 30 plus problems it could possibly be if you'd like . We thought well this young feller must be really good at the conditioning cause he knew by sight and smell . Much like a hunter tracking a deer or antelope . He said "needs to be cleaned out" sounded legit . Let's do that . So he uses the vacuum to rid of us of whatever that AC snake if death was . It worked . Yay! He gets about 20 minutes away after clearing our AC of Satans Finger and the air Ian no longer getting cold . No drips but no cold air . We called back . He came back out and said our flux capacitor (maybe just capacitor I don't know ) needed to be changed and "our wires were buzzing outside " which sounds dangerous. Can't have buzzing wires . So he fixed the issues and left again . All was well . Sugar plums and everything danced around as our home once returned to a semi -arctic state that we have grown accustomed to . About 72 degrees . The next morning at said temperature it read a few degrees higher . Pretty normal but just to be safe ? We checked to see if it would go down one more degree as it was registering 74. Kicked it down one degree and it went up another degree . Raised the temperature and it went back down . Now I'm not an engineer or that Musk feller but thought it odd when ya turn the temp up it goes down and when ya turn it down it goes up . Seems backwards . So we called again and got the owner/manager / crazy man . We explained the situation that the thermostat was going up when down and down when up . To which he said "son , you're lucky if ya hit 900 Celsius in this summer heat . It's 88 degrees outside ! You're insane if you think you will come anything about 20 degrees near where steel melts ! " I explained again super slow this time . The issue isn't that I can't forge my swords the issue is the backwards math . 72 turns it to 73 but 73 turns it to 72 . To which he said " I've been doing this 30 years and that just doesn't make sense . It's like if ya handed me yerrrrr car and it doesn't have gasoline in it and ya ask me to take it for a spin and I say well I caint cause it has no fuel ! So that's probably what's going on with your Conditioning doo dad right about now ! If ya need further helpings just call us back we are always here for ya but what you're saying just doesn't make sense ! Remember gas and cars and all that " needless to say we will not be calling them back nor would I recommend this business to anyone . If you've made it this far in the review don't waste your time with Heart Heating , Air , Tackle and Bait shop. Just not worth it . To end on a high note ? The wife and I now have a star gate that opened in our bathroom due to the reversing of the polarity and there's an Alien named Fred that seems to think we are pretty swell. Hope this helps . in years of dealing with this company i had an awful experience today that resulted in our severing all ties. They sell a thermostat for $280, seemed like a good deal installed, wi/fi, smart etc. installation went without a hitch. The tech as usual was courteous, clean, prompt and everything that i have come to love about Heart being in my home. The problem: this thermostat RETAILS on the companies website, Amazon, Lowes and Home Depot for $129, a 130 % increase on RETAIL is OUT OF LINE. I called Heart to discuss and was confronted by a very aggressive "owner" named Kevin. I wanted to make things right and discuss a more reasonable price point. Kevin advised me very pointedly that his companies "overhead" was the responsibility of the customer. Since when do consumers float the cost of DOING business? This man is irresponsible, aggressive and certainly someone I wouldn't with upon my worst enemy. They are coming to remove their thermostat but mine was removed from the premises and not being refunded or returned in any way. I will get my $280 back but now I am required to purchase a thermostat and have it installed. TOTALLY UNFAIR. I believe in fair trade and value for services but to place the burden of running his company onto the consumer is absolute insanity. 7 years of loyal business ended in one very disconcerting phone conversation. read more

Unprofessional technician behavior. Had a huge attitude whenever we asked a simple question, tracked dirt throughout the house, and left without saying a word. The next day we had fruit flies and noticed the AC filter we bought the week prior was crumpled in the corner. When our concerns were addressed to management, it was shrugged off. read more
