My mind was absolutely blown…read more I love Northern Michigan for a number of reasons, but I never imagined I'd include Mexican food to the list. This place definitely is an undiscovered gem. We ordered the fajitas, a burrito, and tried the famous white fish taco. I mean- White fish taco sounds good, but there was something truly magical about that experience. I'm struggling to put it into words even now. You just have to eat it to believe. Honestly, the location for this place seems terrible. You'd never know it was there unless you went out of your way looking for it. It's hidden in a largely empty plaza, and I drove the car past three times before we finally spotted it. We placed our order at the front before seating ourselves. The employees were incredibly friendly and helpful as we decided what we wanted to order. The food came out hot and amazing. Oh it was such a surprise and comfort. I just really wish they offered horchata. l was just really in the mood for a horchata to complete my meal, and this would make it a homerun for me. But the food was so rewarding, I can get over myself. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in town. Baby Tag Along Edition: Bringing in a carseat for our little one was easy enough. There are tables inside to eat and plenty of space for us to bring the carseat inside with us. I only wish they offered the Carseat Cradle that would let baby sit with us at eye level.

Ok, to find this little gem in Cedar was such a pleasant surprise!…read more We were not hungry in the least bit but when we discovered the Polish Countryside Kitchen we had to get a "Scooby snack" of pierogi and cucumber dill salad. The gentleman running the truck was super friendly and took the time to share with us how he operates his farm and his motivation to do so. The kitchen prides itself in serving authentic Polish cuisine with only the best of ingredients. Since it's a food trailer, you get to enjoy your food outdoors, and in this day the weather was perfect, it was fun to watch the motorcycles ride by as we ate our snack. Now onto the food! We tried the cheddar potato and it was delicious! the pierogi were cooked to perfection with just the right amount of crispiness from searing and the filling was very light but full of flavor. And the cucumbers dill salad reminded me of my Babusia made when I would visit her as a boy. .

The owner is amazing, we chatted with him at length about his farm, standards, etc. It's refreshing to meet someone that cares as much about what they are consuming as you do! This guy gets it. Tried the goat burger, not at all what I expected! Was way less gamey...more like a bison/veal. Definitely try it! So nice he had a GF option for this, the grilled cabbage and beets (seemed like a beet hummus almost) was 11/10. The pierogi? 20/10. Even though he doesn't make his own (uses Srodek's) IT IS THE BEST PIEROGI I HAVE EVER TASTED! The secret? He cooks it in lard from his own farm. The kapusta & kielbasa flavor was my fav. Also ordered a birch sap drink, and there are so many health benefits! Loved it! While I found it surprising he wasn't familiar with Polish terminology in conversation, and he told us he'd be open on the 4th...that was a lie. A bummer since we drove far, but it's his business, he can do what he wants. Believe they are open Friday-Monday, but don't quote me on that. Lol If you are in TC, Glenn Arbor, Empire, or anywhere around Sleeping Bear Dunes, Polish Countryside Kitchen is 100% worth the drive!

The truffle flavor wasn't strong, so was a little disappointed. I was also disappointed to find that their fries come from a box (read: store bought), however the fries did turn out to be pretty good. I did consider other dishes. They had an interesting black cod dish, but I wasn't super hungry. I would say the staff treated this more as a transaction than me supporting their biz. A little robotic in nature, not extremely nice. Don't forget that your patrons are coming to support you rather than a more established restaurant.

And had great texture, but completely flavorless. I didn't ask for seasoning - hopefully they provide it if you don't want plain old starch. The burger was well done, not medium well as the young lady said, but it was falling apart and not in a good way. It was also pretty flavorless - the best part about it was that it was made fresh. There was way too much bread on the burger, and it was pretty dry (almost old-tasting - yikes!). It's a beautiful day, so I'll be nice - the service was pretty good. Young lady was friendly, and did provide more info when asked. Unfortunately, I won't be having a burger here again. They have some other options on the menu that look good - maybe next time I'll try the dirty fries - I'll hopefully have better luck.

It is overpriced. $25 for 2 meat plate you get little piece of chicken and chop meat. Sides are good but the meat are tiny. 2. It is gross. you know something is wrong when your bbq is drown in sauce. Look at the picture. I never seen a bbq restaurant drown their meat in sauce. It is like they just grilled it or microwave the meat and just dump sauce on them and call it bbq. Also it was cold. Might as well eat at Applebee's if they are serving this. I was going to give 0 star but server was patient and nice. Food was just terrible. Everybody that give good reviews have nachos or macaroni. That's easy to make, but the items that involve technical skills and times, they have no idea how to make barbeque period

Unfortunately, Sparks was busier than expected so it took way long to get our food - even though we just ordered the nachos and a side of mac. Our waiter apologized many times due to being short staffed for the holiday weekend, but we were getting soo hangry we devoured our food in 10 minutes by the time we got it. The nachos were pretty good - I expected there to be a lot more meat and toppings for the price - and I wish they had put all of the BBQ sauce on it! We asked for all of their BBQ sauce on the side so we could try all of it. The mac & cheese was also pretty good! I probably would opt for a sandwich if I came back though since I do think the nachos were a bit lackluster.
