Dined there for the second time this evening. Arrived earlier tonight than the first time on Father's Day. The selections were more robust, tasty and plentiful. Buffets kill me because if they're good I just wish I could bring a spare stomach. We started with a variety of fresh sushi, seconds from the other side, egg roll, shrimp in at least 5 or 6 treatments, green beans, chicken, pepper steak, etc. Finished off with various fresh and canned fruit slices including lychees, puddings, cakes. Just the thing to top off the main courses. I give it 4.5 stars due to the lackluster decor. But the wait staff is friendly and not pushy. No silly masks either. People are smiling again. Hooray!!! I forgot to take photos I was so hungry that all I could think about was biting in. Prices are reasonable because you can eat yourself to death here. I always try to explain my review having more stars than perhaps it would in reality, if that makes sense. This is a Chinese buffet. It is an all you can eat buffet. For people who have not had actual primo, well prepared Asian cuisine, I've never seen anyone not enjoy and tell me that they absolutely loved every single dish. This is what it is. It's only $14 for lunch, and if you went to one of the commercial burger places, you would expect that amount on just a regular basket with fries, drink and a burger. Here people get to eat as much as they want. Having explained this, I hope that you understand why I give the stars that I do for this place. It's because they were clean and there was nothing wrong with any of the dishes that I saw or tried . I particularly only like a few. I might like more if the food was hotter temperature wise. I have been to Asian buffets, particularly in Cheboygan and their food was a lot hotter, even though it's in the hot water baths or however, they're heating it. I prefer to have my food served hotter for many reasons. It is more tasty, it kills bacteria and any food problems like that. I'm sure that if they have these heated too high, it also breaks down the vegetables quickly. But I feel that this is a necessary requirement with the buffet food especially. I do love the hibachi style being available. You can add whatever you want, and the hibachi chef will fry it and add whatever sauces you'd like so that's my favorite. That's the main reason I go here, but the reason my sister always insist on returning Here is because "she likes to pig out". I see that many people do. That's what these buffets are. I think in the past like in the 70s they actually used to even put smorgasbord on the sign now everyone knew what that meant. I find that the servers are nice and it's always a very friendly ambience here so that along with the cleanliness and the fact that people look extremely happy that they "got to pig out" I give this place a four.. and really why would I come and eat again and again at a place that I didn't feel was a safe safe or sufficient lunch? The food is decent never bad food. Cleanliness wise we were served a Dr Pepper that had a fortune cookie paper stuck inside at the bottom of my drink. Clearly knowing now that their cleaning is very poor. I don't know if I will wanna come back if things are going to be in my drink. read more

My wife flew into the airport there in Traverse City, so we decided to go to the Asian Buffet for dinner. It was the first time for us going there and the food wasn't bad... but some of the food on the buffet was cold. I got stuff for the Mongolian grill they have there to have the cook stir-fry it for me... he cooked/stir-fried what I gave him on the plate, but it wasn't cooked all the way through. Also, I LOVE hot mustard, and I like to mix it into my food, but all they had was packets of hot mustard that were jellied and tasted horrible. They need to make fresh hot mustard, NOT packets!!! I lived in Florida for 20 years, so I know good crawdads and what they should taste like, I also know how to cook them with good seasonings... but the crawdads/crabs they had on the buffet were horrible tasting and over cooked!!! My biggest complaint would be no fresh "Hot Mustard"... and the cook on the Mongolian grill needs to learn how to stir-fry. read more

The Hibachi Grill portion makes good food. The Service is good. Beyond that.... It's very expensive. The entrance is very dirty. The bathrooms are filthy. It makes you wonder what the kitchen looks like. We used to love it but is definitely off our list for future visits!!! read more

We ordered two dinners on their website and received an email stating the meals would be ready in 10 to 20 minutes. On my arrival, the lady who was the receptionist told me they didn't have web ordering, and she couldn't help me. I showed her the receipt on my phone and was told that it was not theirs. I pointed out their name on the receipt, and she admitted it was theirs, but they did not offer web ordering, she had no record of the order, and she would not help. She did not offer to assist any further and told me to call the police if I needed to. At that, I left. I do not deal with rude, unprofessional staff. I went across the street to China Fare and was quickly provided with two very good Chinese dinners. Avoid the Asian Buffet. I know nothing about their food, but their staff's attitude and service are lousy. read more

This is the Disney World of Traverse City. It is the most amazing food i've had ever. The manager was so kind and helpful! There is a humongous selection of yummy food. There's even plain chicken and fries for the picky eaters. The lunch buffet is my personal favorite because it includes their amazing wontons with a complementing chili sauce. The crab rangoon's made me appreciate that i'm on this earth to experience the wonders that happen in Asian Buffett. Words cannot describe how amazing and fantastical the food and the employees are. Even though lunch is advertised as served till 315 pm, they will tell you that they are charging dinner prices way before the time. I came in at 245 pm and they said I had to pay dinner price which was $5 more than lunch price. The food was pretty much the same. Had a few people come in right behind me and they also left when told about their ridiculous dinner price charge. Who eats dinner at 315 pm??? Maybe stop people from coming in at 230 pm?? Such ridiculous practice. While the food is alright, they should definitely work on their customer service and clear, legitimate schedule and pricing. In my previous experiences there, I've seen their female lead hostess harass people about their "dinner price" even before 3 pm. If you want their lunch price, make sure you come way before 315 pm or you'll be harrassed! read more

This is my new go-to place in Traverse. There is a wide selection of quality food, including sushi and hibachi. The prices are good, service is excellent, and the seating is well spaced so that everyone has plenty of room. There is a very odd thing about the bathroom stalls, though. There is a sign above a small trash can that informs you not to flush the toilet paper. Very strange. Other than that weird quirk, I'm always happy to support this outstanding Asian owned, and staffed, restaurant. read more

Buffet food not fresh... In the mood for sushi and a variety of chinese foods. Decided to check this place out. Dine-in option is currently offered. Inside, you are seated near the food bar. Must wear provided disposable gloves, sanitize your hands, and wear your mask each time you grab a new plate. I suggest loading up your plates so less time prepping your hands to "grab food". Sushi..not fresh. Looks fresh under the lighting but who knows how long its been under that light. Rice tasted stale and fish was a no bueno. Hibachi...veggies are not clean. Mushroom had dirt specks. Noodles soaking in that luke warm, bacteria growing water. Raw meat sitting under that warm light... Everything was just horrible quality. Meat dry and overcooked...i just can't. The highlight of my meal is the cup of Sierra mist. Will not return. read more

This team does a phenomenal job of having a large variety of foods, fresh and great service. Their sushi is fresh, lots of different types of rolls to choose from along with the hibachi grill with an abundant selection of items to select from. With COVID, the team responded well and offers customers the opportunity to select from their table from a menu of what they want in the amount of quantity, or, to stand on the other side of the roped off buffet and direct the server of the desired selections. The servers are masked, changes gloves frequently along with utilizing hand sanitizer. They are doing a wonderful job in working with the State regulations in response to COVID without skipping a beat on the quality of food and service. Very proud and thankful! read more

This is exactly what Yelpers before have said: Sketchy looking outside in a strip mall, but clean and modern and nice on the inside. For this style of restaurant, I'd rate it better than most. There was a great variety of fruit and of sushi and desserts too. The protein (fish, beef, calamari, etc) was all cooked really well - not tough or dry. They even have a hibachi that lets you pick raw food and have a chef cook it up for you if you don't like the "sitting out" part of a buffet. The inherent downside of places like this is that the sushi is never as good/fresh as a sushi bar. And lots of the meat dishes were Americanized-Chinese classics (sticky chicken and deep fried shrimp). But that doesn't take away from the fact that Asian Buffet is definitely an above average "Asian buffet" read more

This is the nicest looking Asian Buffet that I've ever been to. Prices were super affordable & you don't have to pay extra for sushi. There's plenty of seating so even on a busy day/ night it shouldn't be that hard to find seating. Everything was fresh & nothing was messy. Traveling the country for my job I have had the pleasure to experience at least 60 or so Asian buffets. I can say without reservation that this was the worst I have ever had. Only one in PA came close. Tasteless chicken and broccoli. Dried out shrimp. A beef cube dish that was as indescribable and inedible as it could be. Cubed shoe leather is a kind description. The salmon was OK but covered in Old Bay? The sushi looked OK but selections that you could get at a grocery store. Well to start off, the restaurants buffet was not great as the reviews say. The buffet food was kind of dry although, the hibachi food was fresh it had little to no taste just like all the food. Not to mention the undercooked noodles. I was Highly uncomfortable with the waitresses eye hawking my table to refill my drink or to remove my plate within a split second of me finishing it. I live in Las Vegas. There are many great buffets here, especially for seafood. I rank this buffet right up there with any of them. My wife and I went on a Thursday and it actually saddened me that there weren't more people there enjoying it. The crawfish were the best I have ever had and I lived in Louisiana for many years and enjoyed the crawfish which were very good, but this buffet must have some secret recipe they use because it was so good I couldn't stop eating. And the shrimp!! They had so many different kinds and they were all delicious. Other dishes were great as well. Food is very good! I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family, including children. The rolls were fresh and there was a ton of variety in soups, chinese dishes, sushi rolls and desserts. You can't tell from the outside, but it's very clean, modernized and busy inside. The decor is pretty cool, they have TVs so you can enjoy lunch by yourself during your lunchbreak and the waitstaff was very attentive and kind. For all you can eat lunch buffet, it was $11, which is an amazing price considering just one sushi roll can cost more than that at other restaurants. I gave this place 4/5 because the outside of the restaurant needs work. Maybe some window signs or decorative lights would be more inviting? Worst food ever . Made me and my little children very sick. When told staff about bad food and strange items in it they yelled and threatened me and my wife who is 9 months pregnant. I have never had such a bad experience. When leaving I noticed I was charged 4 times for our meal and when asked manager to correct they proceeded to yell at me and my children and threatened to call cops if I didn't leave. I made a review online only to have it taken down and threatened by employees personally online . The food was terrible and staff should be embarrassed by their behavior . This place blows everyone else out of the water!!! Gorgeous decor and SO much food to choose from. All part of the buffet!! Choose from sushi, hibachi, or a wide assortment of Asian food. There are four buffet tables worth of sushi alone! I go at least once a week and cannot beat the price of $10! Unfortunately, they charge for hot tea (I think $2.50) so beware. Okay well this restaurant opened up a few months ago. I went today. At first glance restaurant is quite nice and super clean. I got my plate and first up was some fried rice, chicken on a stick, general tso and sesame chicken. And the chicken wasn't up to par, and could have been better grade of chicken. To be honest the sauce all seemed the same. I also got some sushi, tuna roll, and the red dragon. The sushi was okay; you can get better for cheaper at meijer. Granted I did not do the hibachi and now for these reasons I won't be coming back. read more
