Super cute romance bookstore in Anaheim! I've ordered from their online store multiple times and have visited in person once (and had so much fun browsing and shopping!). They have such an amazing and diverse selection of romance books. I also love that they stock so many independently published books, which means you're guaranteed to come across a book that you've never heard of before. They also host such wonderful events that you could tell they put so much time and effort into. I attended one of their author events that was hosted off site, and it was so organized and fun! I can't wait to attend more of their events in the future :) All in all, 10/10 recommend visiting!! This is solely based on the book event they hosted for Lindsay Straube and her book release of Between Two Kings at the Double Tree Hilton. I drove up in the rain from San Diego and I am so glad I did, as soon as I got the event, I was greeted and complimented and checked in. The team at Heartbound was so kind and helped direct me to the book stations and made me aware of the photo booth and permeant jewelry station. There was ample seating in the venue and the Heartbound team made us aware of the time frame of the event, I loved how organized they were. When authors Lindsay and Kate Golden came on it was amazing, they were so funny and thoughtful and gave us such good information, at the end the team at Heartbound gifted Lindsay a cake and flowers and I thought that was such a sweet way to end the event. For $35 I ended up meeting these two authors, my special edition book and a little figurine, so so worth it. If there are more author events, I will definitely be making it out and I would go early just so I can check out their bookstore! read more

This is an amazing little bookshop, I really enjoyed the layout the vibe and my wife loved it here too. The selection was wonderful and they had each one split up into subject and genre type. It was easy to find what type world you wanted to dive into. I know the target audience is for female readers and I was still able to find some books of interest but it would be nice to have a little for him spot. Price wise they were fair and on point. They have a wide variety of bookmarks, stickers, little stuffed animals etc... The staff was sweet and great with sharing their favorites and ideas on books I was looking at. I loved that they hat photos of them all and the fur babies of the shop. This is an amazing little spot and we will both be back. Thank you for being amazing!! read more

I've done a few events at Heartbound. It was recommended to me by my hair stylist. I was sold on that this place as Taylor Swift vibes, and it does! It's a tiny romance store with pink and pastel florals. Sometimes they'll have signings or a pop up coffee vendor. I've been to various romance bookstores up and down the west coast, I love how this has its own selection and highlights local authors. The value of the books here, price wise, is about the same at MSRP, but they do have sales and book exchange events too. This place is great and I love how close to me it is. Came for a the book swap event. I thought this was super fun because got rid of books I didn't care for and picked some up I want to read. The only difficulty is that you kind of have to stay for the whole event to see if anything good comes about. There was also a rule that it should be 5 years or newer but there was a twilight book on the table so??? I got a look at their selection and they have a good selection of different tropes. I love dark romance but so many places don't offer these kind of books. I look forward to more events here! read more

Stopped by on a weekday to check out this place with my book buddy and it was such an amazing experience! The hours of this place are a bit odd so definitely make sure to check their insta before you go. They could be open outside of the hrs posted on the website! I'm pretty sure that's what happened with us. Anyways, it was decorated with Christmas decorations and was just overall so cute and girly! It's organized well and all books were so crisp and new. Overall, a very aesthetically pleasing shop! They have a wide selection of romance book subgenres from sports to contemporary to suspense to fantasy. They do have the popular books you see everywhere but they also have a lot of indie authors too. I was impressed by the amount they had. A lot of the books I'd never heard of before! I think the owners did a great job in curating a very diverse romance bookshop. Other cool things in the shop include bookmarks, kindle accessories, merch for the store, and blind dates with a book! I ended up getting a blind date with a book because I'm so indecisive. It also came with a free bookmark of your choosing! Workers were very friendly and helpful. You could really tell they share the same kind of love of books, especially romance ones, as you do! Pricing is pretty fair for the books, expect to pay normal prices since it is a small indie bookshop. Overall, as romance book lovers, my friend and I loved this place! It's definitely worth checking out if you like romance books and cute bookish merch. It is so unique! There aren't very many places like this in the area so I'm so happy there's one local. My friends Kara Loo and Jennifer Young co-wrote a novel that just came out, called "Alice Chen's Reality Check." I drove down to Anaheim to interview them for their first ever author event, at Heartbound Book Shop on Broadway. There was a small parking lot, but it was full when we arrived 15 minutes ahead of the event. We got lucky and parked across the street, but I'd recommend budgeting time to park if you're going to a reading here. Heartbound is a small place in the wide, pedestrian-hostile streets of Anaheim. The bookstore was super cute, cozy and brightly decorated, with a large inventory of romance novels. If you're a romance reader in Orange County, you should 100% be shopping at Heartbound. The staff was incredibly sweet, and they did a great job facilitating and promoting the event. I was gratified by the number of people who showed up for Kara and Jennifer, many of them not even friends and family. This is far from a given, especially for new, non-local writers. I've done a lot of bookstore events over the years, and had to tell my friends not to measure every other venue against Heartbound. I love indie bookstores as a rule, but the staff here put an unusual amount of effort into this event. They even gave us flowers, matching the colors to the cover of the book. I know most people who visit Heartbound are not authors, but I think their treatment of my friends speaks to a passion and care that extends to every aspect of the bookstore. Romance readers, give this place your time and money. They absolutely deserve it. read more

Before this family owned bookstore opened, I followed them on IG to get updates on the grand opening. Unfortunately, I did not get to attend but finally got the chance to visit. The owners were there when I visited and they were so sweet. They could tell I was excited to be there and let me know a little bit about the store. Definitely a great experience. Just like the IG, this store is so cute and you get transported into another world. The decor is cute and they have some really cool merchandise that you will want to add to your collections. They have mugs, totes, bookmarks, pins, journals, and so much more. Prices vary for the merchandise and books but are the typical prices you will find anywhere else. The book features lots of new authors who typically write romance novels. The book art of each book is amazing and makes you want to read the book. They host numerous events with the featured authors, so definitely check their socials to find the next one. Atmosphere is cute and its like something out of a book. This book shop is tucked away on Broadway right in between Harbor and Anaheim Blvd. It's such a cute, quant little shop, and the family that runs it is so sweet. My friend and I have stopped in a couple of times and everyone that works there is so helpful with so many good recommendations. The selection of indie authors is unmatched and prices are pretty good as well ! Not to mention that if it's available, your purchase comes with freebies from the authors, which I absolutely loved. Tiny spot, and it was packed which is great for them! Really just seemed like a pink overload and catered to a younger audience which makes sense. Had all of the romances with cute covers. But I wondered...what makes purchasing here better than other spots in the area, or your typical Barnes and Noble? Seemed quite expensive, I didn't end up purchasing anything. A beautiful little romance bookstore located in downtown Anaheim, Heartbound Book Shop is THE PLACE to find indie authors and beautiful blind date bundles. They have a great selection of romance books, and everything is impeccably organized. The owners Jenika, Ayesha, and Cecelia give great recommendations and are super friendly! The vibes in here are immaculate, and the deco is super cute! They have great branded merch as well as lots of bookish accessories like bookmarks, stickers and Kindle charms.
