We hired Heartland to sand, stain, and apply 3 coats of Swedish finish to our Oak hardwoods, which had been refinished once or twice before we lived here. Joe was responsive, informative, and reliable during the entire process. I felt comfortable with the masking/ protection provided to minimize the effects of sanding dust. 10 /25/2021 Heartland flooring Did a wonderful job on our worn out floors. We had bald spots on the floor it was so worn. It had been about 20 since we had our floors redone only because we couldn't find anyone one that could do a sweetish finish on them. The floor turned out beautiful. It looks brand new. John and Joe where so nice and we feel like family now. They took great care in set up and clean up. There prices are good. They are a very busy company and it is family run and owned and one of the very few company's that still do sweetish finish on the floors. John and his partner Joe are veterans within their trade and they masterfully execute all the work themselves so you are in good hands. They are deeply knowledgeable about wood flooring and finishing and were able to diagnosis and correct existing problems (such as mix-matched wood and unlevel floor transitions) in our old home. We have used this company twice - once as part of a huge home remodel a few years ago, and then recently for refinishing our beat-up hardwood floor. During the remodel, they were laying laminate flooring for us in a large area of the house and there was an issue with the subfloor not being flat, and these guys had to re-do a big chunk of the work after a solution was found to fix the original issue (by a different contractor). Heartland came back and redid the job perfectly, and we're happy with the work, still. The floor gets tons of compliments and we've had no issues with it. The job they did recently was *breathtaking*. We had ugly old oak floors that were yellowed, with lots of scratches and damage. We asked Heartland to refinish it *and* stain it a different color. The work was flawless - the floor is smooth, all the holes/worn spots were filled in, and the stain looks *amazing*. These guys really know what they're doing. They kept to the schedule they gave us and it was about as easy as this messy process could be. They also didn't damage anything in the house while working on the floor. Part of our kitchen was affected by the water damage and hardwood floor needs to be replaced. I have requested quote from 8 different providers, which 2 of them directly said no, 4 of them came up with quote but whether disappeared or failed to respond to my questions, 1 of them came up with quote and then said their supplier did not have the wood. Heartland Floors is the only Company that was able to provide me reasonable quote, timely response and continuous support along the way with this project. We met and hired John Carlson to replace a section of parquet flooring, add new baseboard trim, adjust door threshold transitions and refinish (Swedish) all the hardwood floors and stairs in our 1912 Seattle home. This was no small or easy job. A month later, we are still overwhelmed by the result which far exceeded our expectations and is as close to perfection as one can achieve. The work is absolutely beautiful and the process was efficient with extremely high attention to detail. John and his partner Joe are veterans within their trade and they masterfully execute all the work themselves.
