While visiting the base a few months ago, we spent some time at the lake area. The weather was perfect, no humidity, very clean air! They outside is well taken care of, tables and benches and trails that lead to the lake. I'm hoping to spend more time at the lake next year. Its absolutely beautiful place to visit.

But this place is more like a building full of ballrooms for your special occasions. I attended a military dining in that was hosted here, and coincidentally I came across a birthday party in a nearby room with some old friends at the same time. I guess this really is the place to go for your important events! I don't even know how to make a reservation for a room in a place like this, but I do know that I had a good time here. The ballrooms don't look like they're taken from medieval European architecture, but this is a military base, not Cinderella's Castle. There are civilians working here late into the night to take care of your food and alcohol needs, which is nice. The next time I go to another dining in, it'll probably be here again, so I already can't wait!

Unfortunately, my experience was extremely negative due to the behavior of the staff, particularly Bonnie. My employee and I were made to feel uncomfortable by her hostile attitude and lack of professionalism toward both vendors and guests. During the reception, Bonnie repeatedly interrupted to criticize and micromanage minor issues rather than allowing guests to enjoy the celebration. At one point, a wedding guest threw ice into a nearby weeded area. Although we had no involvement and were unaware it had happened, Bonnie immediately approached us and held us responsible for the guest's actions in an unpleasant tone in front of guest. She also accused us of dumping juice on the grass, despite the fact that we did not even have juice on-site we were serving a pre-batched margarita, and all waste was properly disposed of in the trash. Another issue arose when a plug was missing from one of the venue's coolers. The cooler had been sitting in the same location before we arrived, yet we were essentially blamed for the missing item without any evidence. Later, as we were breaking down our equipment, Bonnie sent her husband to stand and watch us the entire time, which felt unnecessary, uncomfortable, and unprofessional. To make matters worse, I was later accused of taking a table that actually belonged to us. Throughout my years working events, I have never encountered a venue with such a negative and unwelcoming atmosphere. My impression is that couples are presented with a friendly and accommodating image during the booking process, only to experience something entirely different on their wedding day. If staff are unable to tolerate children playing, guests celebrating responsibly, or vendors doing their jobs, then the hospitality industry may not be the right fit. This was one of the most uncomfortable venue experiences I have had, and I would not recommend spending your money here.

Easy to get turned around. Despite these issues I've certainly been to worse spots. The staff were actually quite friendly which made up for some of the architectural and design flaws. Leave 30 minutes early if you want to be on time and beware people speeding.

Loads of parking in nearby surrounding buildings. I parked at the Marriot parking lot next door. Walking into the convention center it was easy to navigate the main entrance. Escalators next to stairs allow different ways to get from one floor to the next. And of course there's an elevator. If you have to attend a big event and it's here, don't worry, just go! We got married in July 2024, and emailed our disappointments to them 9 months after our wedding, as I had many sleepless nights ruminating over these things, clearly showing our thoughts were not a spur of the moment email. Bob and Angie neglected to take the time to be professional and respond. First of all, I asked for my bridal party to have all pink bouquets. They were mixed white and pink. Beautiful? Yes. What we asked for? Absolutely not. In addition, Angie did not make enough bouquets and my maid of honor offered her bouquet as the toss bouquet. Also, she did not make enough boutonnieres. She had to scramble last minute and make an extra for a groomsman, but the officiant never got one. My husband and I made a seating chart with our family's tables closest to the head table. It did not end up that way, and us along with our families were disappointed they weren't sitting the closest to us. In addition, guests were changing table numbers after the tables had already been labeled and no one stopped them. We had asked for the cutting cake to be taken away as soon as we cut it. That did not happen and guests came up and cut themselves a slice off of our cake. We had contracted hours of which we could be on the property and use it for. Before our contract time ended, Angie and her team were taking down decorations, indicating to guests that the event was over and it was time to leave. If you choose the all-inclusive package, be cautious and do your research of which vendors you choose. The DJ we chose was absolutely a drag, did not interact with guests, turned off the music when no one was dancing and did not make it an exciting or lively atmosphere. The photographer we chose was only a delight on the day of and was sorely unprofessional any other time we had to work with her. Lastly, Angie asked for tips of service. Last I checked, tips are for a job well done, and I don't feel like she did a job well enough to deserve a tip. If you require a tip, it should be in your contract, not asked for.
