However, she recently moved to Santa Clarita to be closer to us and we took her to this office today. According to her, this is the nicest, most professional and friendly office staff with all the up-to date equipment. Her hearing aid stopped working. It was purchased at a different audiology department. Audiology Associates sent the hearing aid out for repairs and contacted the previous business where it was purchased to get the most up to date records. The staff communicated regularly with my mother-in-law and kept her informed during the entire process. The hearing aid was fixed a week sooner than expected. It was very easy to make the appointments. Once the new settings were dialed in they told her she could come in any time without an appointment for any type of adjustments. I can't say enough about how wonderful it is to work with such a professional and friendly business.

I can't believe I waited 20 years to do this…read more I have struggled with hearing loss for about 20 years, and over time it affected almost every part of my life. It interfered with my relationships, made me feel isolated, and gave me a tremendous amount of anxiety in conversations. It was especially frustrating when people would get annoyed because I had to ask them to repeat themselves. It was even starting to affect my performance at work. Eventually, I was having difficulty hearing even in a quiet room. Hearing aids are expensive, so I kept putting it off. Hearing loss also runs in my family, with several people on my mom's side experiencing early hearing loss. I finally had my hearing tested at another office in Northridge, but I wasn't impressed with the experience. The office was run down, and they didn't offer me any discount through my Kaiser insurance. That's when I decided to try Hear USA. The difference was immediate. The office was clean, I was able to get an appointment within a couple of days, and I felt like I was actually listened to during the hearing test and consultation. What really sold me was their 7-day trial period. I could take the hearing aids home, live with them, and see how they worked in my actual life. If they weren't right for me, I could return them once and try a different model. When I put on the mid-level model I chose for the first time, I actually choked up. I could hear EVERYTHING. The air conditioning whooshing through the vents. My pen moving across the paper. The clicking of the keyboard. My clothes rustling. Sounds I had completely forgotten were there. I left with the $4,500 hearing aids to try for the week, and it was genuinely life-changing. About four days later, Hear USA called to see how I was doing. I never felt pressured or like they were wasting my time. I went back, decided to keep them, and paid for the hearing aids. Going back to work was incredible. I can now hear people talking to me when they're facing away from me or speaking from across the room. It took a couple of days for my brain to adjust to all the sounds I hadn't been hearing, like my feet on the carpet and all the noises around me while driving. Eventually, they just became normal background sounds again. I also love that the hearing aids pair directly with my phone. I can listen to podcasts and take phone calls without having to remove my hearing aids and put in earbuds. They're lightweight, comfortable, and I don't even notice I'm wearing them anymore. I don't need subtitles on the TV anymore, and I don't have to blast the volume. The biggest thing is that I no longer feel like I'm constantly struggling to keep up with conversations. After 20 years of adapting my life around hearing loss, that's an enormous change. I'm very grateful to the people at Hear USA for making it so easy to finally take that step. It was a major purchase, so I really appreciated having the 7-day trial before committing, as well as the 60-day return period after purchasing. I've been surprised by some of the negative reviews I've read here, and honestly, I'm glad I didn't read them before making my appointment. My experience has been excellent, and I would absolutely recommend giving them a chance if you've been putting off getting hearing aids.

I have been with Advanced Audiology (AA) for about 10 years. I have always found Strawberry…read morepleasant to work with and accommodating along with the rest of the office staff. SO much so, I also brought my mother here. I have always been happy with the Octicon hearing aids (H/A) I had been getting from them over the years. So why the low rating? In between my first and second set of H/A, I was asked to try the Starkey brand. I was not happy with their tonality/sound quality or functionality. So, I went back to Oticon. Last year, I was once again asked to try Starkey. Even though my last experience with them was not favorable, I was told they were the latest and were very good. I tried them. Once again, I was not happy even after the issues I had were addressed they did not sound as good as I was used to. The audio levels were constantly bouncing around depending on the room I was in. It was very nerve racking, a constant headache. I was then asked to wait a bit as Starkey was going to release the latest and greatest they had. Once again, they pretty much sounded and acted the same. When I would get on a phone call the room mics would triple in volume and drown out the caller. Calling the tech support, the choices were blaring or nothing. They were stumped why this was. Went back to AA, and was told the issue was defective H/As. They would order a new set. The new set arrived, the phone call issue was gone, but constant bouncing of levels and the poor balance of sounds in the room continued. All pre-sets were just terrible. I also tried to set my own audio levels, and the H/A seemed to have a mind of their own and would start bouncing around. After multiple trips to AA and phone calls with support, I was done with trial and error. I was then told I was now stuck with these H/A! The only thing that can be done was to keep coming back for tweaks in hopes of getting things right! Since I was never offered an alternative like Oticon, it was obvious they have now gone all out on Starkey. That said, I will now have to find a new audiologist because I will NEVER get Starkey again. Even worse is I now have to wait for the next window that my insurance will pay for new H/As, as my last allowance was wasted on the Starkeys that now live in a drawer! Luckily my Oticons are still working. My experience has been, after I got used to wearing H/As, I would put them on in the morning and actually forget I was wearing them. When I would put on the Starkeys, there a CONSTANT, NAGGING reminder that I was wearing them. Not for me. I am sure there are people out there, that love and swear by the Starkey name and that's great for them. I am not one of them. I need an audiologist that offers choice and not just one brand.

After learning that I've lost about 30% of my hearing in both ears, Dr. John carefully explained what that meant and walked me through which hearing aids would be most beneficial for me, answering all my questions without ever making me feel rushed. I wasn't ready to order right away since I had a vacation coming up, so I waited. In the meantime I did a little research and later called the office with a few more questions. I reached a recording and didn't leave a message, planning to call back later- but within seconds of hanging up, the office called me back! That level of attentiveness really stood out to me. Everyone I spoke with was kind and helpful, and all my questions were answered clearly. I ended up ordering my hearing aids and got them a little over a week ago. Dr John helped with the App and set a couple things up. They are easy to put on and getting used to them was actually very easy. I don't wear them all the time but so far, so good. I'd definitely recommend Ascent Hearing based on my experience
