Update to original review posted on April 10, 2025 re: complimentary consultation. Previously, a review was left expressing concerns about a consultation fee. The office, particularly Dr. Tyska addressed the situation. Consultations are complimentary, and the fee was promptly refunded. Dr. Tyska and his assistant Kristen showed genuine concern and listened to feedback, demonstrating a commitment to patient care. The professionalism and dedication to resolving the issue were impressive. My daughter will soon be getting here braces with Dr. Tyska. This recent experience shows me that patient satisfaction is prioritized and that the office is committed to resolving issues. read more

So disappointed with this business. Buyer beware when it comes to "complimentary" consultation for orthodontics. The 2 stars is because we once had a great experience 5 years ago. But recently, I had such an unfortunate interchange with their office manager and staff. I called to book an appointment for my daughter to get a quote on another round of braces (she never wore her retainers and teeth shifted back). The front desk told me there would be a fee for return clients but not for new clients. That didn't make sense to me so I said no thank you. I already received a complimentary consultation elsewhere with a quote. And they did NOT charge me. The front desk told me she would have someone call me back. Sure. I got a call back and told the same thing. Ok. Then I proceeded to cancel my appointment. The office (wish I remembered her name), said she would ask the doctors and call me back (again). Days later I received a call and told there would be no fee. Great. My husband brought my daughter yesterday and sure enough, I am charged $85.00. Called and spoke to the office manager. She handled it very poorly, and kept explaining that they did a lot of "extra's" and that the $85 was actually a great deal. The thing is, I didn't ask for any extra's. I just wanted to know if I would be paying the same price for another round of braces and to see if I could get some kind of discount as a returning patient. This manager made a point to say that there was no record of my previous conservations and therefore, she would not do anything. I have worked for years in private practice - Manhattan - selling elective medical cosmetic procedures. I understand how this works. It is not about the money but about the practice keeping their word and honoring their commitment to the patient. I spoke to them 3x before our actual appointment and they still charged me. I am so disappointed with how they now run their business. Very sad indeed. read more

Name one person other than the doctor himself that enjoys a visit to the dentist office. Have a name yet? I know I don't have one. If you were to mention a trip to the orthodontist, that alone woukd send chills of fear to many people. Well all the negative thoughts you may have, can be set a side. This place is amazing and everyone from the doctor to the staff is super friendly. They are very good with kids and my kids don't mind getting their checkups. 18 more months and the braces will be coming off. Get ready to see plenty of check instead with me. read more

The dentist thought my daughter needed braces. Turns out she needed a moth crib instead. I tried this place out due to convenient location. We are so happy with this choice. I love this orthodontic practice. We researched several different practices and ultimately chose McDonald, Tyska and Alexander based on our research and a recommendation from our pediatric dentist, Dr. Weiss. We have had nothing but positive interactions with the orthodontists there, particularly Dr. Tyska. We were even able to get a 6 pm appointment when I was unable to get my son in earlier. I highly recommend this practice. They have been very flexible and understanding with our hours. All I need to do is ask and I can get a late afternoon appointment. You won't be disappointed with this practice! read more

Dr. MacDonald and the team of orthodontists there provided great treatment, and I have nothing but great things to say about them. My three kids all went to him and I finally gave in. It was one of the best moves I ever made. The clear braces were barely noticeable and they made sure my teeth were perfect when they discharged me. They are very caring about their patients. I cannot get over how great the dentists are at this practice. I had a dental emergency (rushed to get teeth straight before my wedding) seemed very impossible..until Dr. Tyska & Dr. Bob put my case into their hands and were willing to do anything to accommodate my crazy schedule of living out of Buffalo at the time. They selflessly met after hours, in snow storms, and were so gracious the entire time!!I am so thankful for not only their hard work, but also the results! My primary doctor recommended their office to me for Invisalign. So happy I called and the results have been great. I love the office and the staff. Very friendly and informative. I work a 9-5 job and they offer early appointments on Thursdays. Dr. Alexander answers all your questions and has great client care. read more

Here is the biggest issue with this office--their hours. It does not matter how great a doctor you are if you are not accessible. If you are a working parent, the hours available for appointments are almost non existent. Early appointments are few and far between and usually scooped up early by other parents who are working to provide better teeth for their kids. Late appointments? They do not exist. Further, there are some procedures that are only available at specific times which means you have to take off work for them. Really has been a struggle and is an ongoing conflict in my work environment. It is arrogant on the part of the orthodontist. read more

We had to get our son to an orthodontist to begin a plan of treatment the office staff are super friendly and we were able to get him in for an evaluation and our outline of process .. we waited a year for a tooth to come out and when it did we called and without a skipped beat the process began and in under two years our son has An amazing smile!! , braces off retainer in and he could not be happier !! The ortodontist and assistants are incredible flexible and efficient! I highly recommend this orthodontist office !! There expertise is spot on !! Dr. Tyska is a top-notch orthodontist with incredible attention to detail. I finally decided to get braces at the age of 28 and two years later couldn't be happier with the result.
