We are the lucky winners of children who need braces! I blame my husband. I never needed braces. :-P But I digress. Our daughter, age 13, was recommended to see an orthodontist for a consultation by her dentist. It was pretty clear she was going to need braces. We looked around at our options, and settled on a consultation with Owl based on proximity and patient reviews. After our consultation, we went with Owl without question. We've been a patient of Owl for many months, over six months now, I believe. We're fans of Owl for several reasons: ** The initial consultation was very helpful in understanding both our daughter's treatment plan, and payment options. ** Owl was very flexible with payments. We asked if we could pay very low monthly installments until I could apply for my health insurance HSA next year to pay off the bulk of the balance. They were very flexible and agreeable to this arrangement. ** I am forgetful with healthcare appointments. Owl does a great job with reminders when I need them. ** We primarily go to Owl on Hopkins, but if scheduling is an issue, you can go in for adjustments at any Owl location that has an opening. ** Our daughter has felt comfortable with the treatments, even now when she has to go in alone during pandemic times; she is very shy, so this is saying a lot to how welcoming and warm the orthodontia staff is here. Once we pay off and finish treatments for our daughter, our son will be on deck. We'll continue to use Owl for him when we get to that point, since we've had a stellar experience with both the orthodontia staff and office staff at Owl. Nancy in finance is very rude and unprofessional. I had a payment due that I honestly forgot about. I told her over the phone I forgot about it there's a lot going on and quite frankly I don't just have the $800 just sitting in my pocket. and she basically called me a liar and made me feel like crap. read more

I've had a relationship with the folks at Owl Orthodontics for the past year plus, first with my older child, now beginning with my younger child. The staff is mostly kind and friendly. Dr. Walla engages well with the children, and clearly explains the "nuts & bolts" of it all. They do take insurance and offer a payment plan for thos who cannot afford a lump sum payment for treatment. And families get a case manager to contact for any questions or concerns as treatment occurs. Orthodontics has come a *long way* since I had them! read more

I couldn't be more disappointed with Owl Orthodontics-- this was my orthodontist as a teenager, and things have really gone down hill. My daughter had so many broken brackets within 24 hours of getting her braces on, that within the month she needed to get her braces completely removed and put on again. Since having her braces replaced she has continued to break brackets on food that is approved for braces, such as pretzels and sandwiches. Every time a bracket breaks we have had to wait one week or more to get an appointment. I paid thousands of dollars for subpar braces and care. My other children will be going elsewhere for their braces. read more

I was advised by my daughters insurance company to go to another orthodontist for an insurnace submission. Her first claim was denied due to lack of documentation and failing to respond in a timely manner and "not being medically necessary but after speaking to me we realized the submission wasn't done properly so I was given owl orthodontics as another provider. Granted a preauth. To go see the orthodontist by the insurance , given a referral and everything was scheduled for next week . I just got a call and my daughter's appointment had been cancled due to already having a claim denied by insurance. I tried to explain to them the situation and let them know that I have an approval by insurnace to go to the appointment and was advised by them to submit another claim and it was denied due to lack of documentation and no narrative being sent as requested. That the insurnace company filed a grievance against the dentist due to them not respond. The women told me oh well and refused to allow us to be seen. Meanwhile I have a 7 year old with 3 impacted 6 year molars who's having a delay in care. I will be contacting the state as I feel both parties just don't want to work with medide and make up our providers entire orthodontist list as they have so many y offices, none of which we are able to make an appointment. I even told the women I'm prepared to pay out of pocket and she still told me she was canceling the appointment. I'm not sure what happened here but it's really sad bc I shoukd be able to go to an in network provider. I will be speaking to liberty tomorrow and informing then they refuse to see my child even with their approval and then sending her over. read more

i hate this ortho! i had braces three separate times and my teeth still aren't great. some of my back molars were left crooked and get food caught all the time causing pain and this was talked about before removal of braces for the third time and no changes happened. i was really hoping for a better experience the third time because i explained all of my concerns and complaints from the first two times and they said they would only have us pay for materials because of the experience. conplaints being i still had an overbite and my teeth literally didn't look good. this did happen during transition of drs from Wright to Walla but communication of the plan to patients is so important! they took them off bc they just wanted Wrights patients out because Walla didn't know their plans. maybe finish treatment plans and do it right? I had to have teeth removed due to overcrowding which i didn't know, i knew i had pain but didn't know why. why did it take the third time to say something? most of the lady's in office are nice some aren't careful and will make you bleed unfortunately. i get they do it all day but dental work can make a lot of people anxious and it's really nice when they are gentle and understanding when working in mouths. read more

This is the place I go for my braces. The service overall is good once you enter. Everyone is very nice. The costumer service is very bad. Making an appointment is a hassle and they sometimes don't listen to what you want. Also the people mess up the braces sometimes and mess up the brackets. The service at this owl is much better than other ones but the overall treatment of your braces is worse. Making an appointment at any owl is just as bad. The best thing about this owl is that is is right next to brunners tavern and you can go get a drink after. read more

We had great care from Owl Orthodontics when it was under Dr. Wright's ownership. My daughters' recent visit with Dr. Walla the new owner was terrible. We waited for an hour before he came into the room to see us and rather than offering an apology he simple asked how we were doing. Duh - I'm not happy when I watch everyone who comes into a doctor's office after me be seen and leave before me. In the hour we were there a woman made a poor attempt at getting updated photos of one of my daughters and the extent of my other daughter's appointment was the woman asking if her retainer fit ok. We were there for them to determine that weren't we?? Dr. Walla is arrogant and disrespectful of his patients time. read more

I an an older patient and needed to get a new set of aligners after, by my own doing, stopped wearing my retainer. I met with Dr. Walla and he was great. Worked with me, was quick and no nonsense and very personable. I would recommend him to anyone and preferred him over Dr. Wright. Gave me more options too. I do not know about Dr. Owl, but I tried to make an appointment with Dr. Owl and the employee whose name is Nancy used an extremely passive aggressive way to talk to me and makes me feel extremely uncomfortable. It was an horrible experience for me so I decided to go to see another Orthodontist. read more

Great place. The service is outstanding, and Dr Wright is a genius. My son went there for treatment of an overbite, and Dr. wright knew exactly what to do. The staff is excellent as well, very friendly. These guys know what they are doing. Great job. read more

I didn't expect that seeing an orthodontist would be so pleasant! I'm currently using Invisalign to correct crowding. Dr. Wright and his staff are amazing, the office is clean and homey, and I really couldn't imagine a better experience with an orthodontist. read more
