Hayman's is a relic of a time when ice cream corner stores were just ubiquitous, and they keep this tradition alive. I've never driven by and NOT seen people hanging around outside. The classic shredded chicken sandwich, hot dogs, ice cream, shakes... they hit all those childhood nostalgia notes. Hayman's Dari Bar is the coolest place in Hebron. It's true literally. This is a small town ice cream place. It has a good size menu. They have slushies and hot food too. I felt like something cold. It has several slushies flavors including blueberry and raspberry. These are pretty cheap at about $1.50 for the large size. If you need some real food you can get that also. The menu includes greasy roadside shit like chicken tenders. If you're like me you'll stick to what they advertise. This is a frozen treat place. If you're hot and in Hebron go to Hayman's Dari Bar. This review is based off of 45+ years of coming here. This is a great small town soft serve ice cream place. You can't go wrong with the soft serve, or the milkshakes. They use their soft serve, milk and whichever flavoring you choose to put out a smooth shake. Their banana split are all on point! Locals will tell you that their shredded chicken sandwich is delicious, and I agree. I won't rave about it because we'll, it's hot a chicken sandwich. Their onion chips and fries are all made fresh. They are nothing exciting; but, you'll get fresh hot food here. I will warn you the the last time I ate here, that the burger was a soy/beef combo, not 100% beef. If you liked the flavor of school lunch burgers, you'll enjoy the nostalgic taste. If not, steer clear. Again, I can't complain about the sandwich as a whole though. It was hot, fresh and the lettuce, tomato, and onion were all fresh. The cheese and bun were soft and chewy. 4 stars for the ice cream. Subtract a star for the just okay food, add one because I'm a homer. And a place that has been in business as long as this place has, deserves to be supported. read more

Driving through Hebron I saw Hayman's and not being one to be able to pass up on ice cream, I stopped to also suprise my son. I thought this would be one of those old school, nice people, homemade joints, boy was I wrong! The girls were both rude, telling me all they had was soft serve while tons of options were listed and my son and I were contimplating if we should get blueberry, marshmellow or any of the other cool flavors written on their board. Nope, it was vanilla, chocolate or strawberry. Great, well telling my son nevermind the ice cream and leaving is never a good option if you want to have an enjoyable day so i asked for a small cone, nope only large...awesome... So I got strawberry and chocolate, my son strawberry and vanilla and while the ice cream was pretty good for being out of a mashine, very creamy and milky tasting, the cone was horrible and I just wasn't pleased with the service or lack thereof, next time I'll keep driving.... read more

The staff usually consists of younger high school students, so maybe not the most courteous or experienced, but let's get something straight. I live near Hebron, OH and have frequented Hayman's Dairy Bar often (my waistline says too frequently). I never was a soft ice cream fan until I started eating Hayman's. I only eat straight Ice cream or shakes. It is very good but it is also about two thirds the price of other soft ice cream outlets. The strawberry isn't just flavored strawberry it consists of straw plugging CHUNKS of strawberry in the strawberry shakes. read more
