I have moved frequently, always with movers. I've never had an experience like this one. We moved from a 3 bedroom apartment to a 3 bedroom house. I most recently moved into the apartment about a year ago, and we had the same number of movers (3 guys, always), and the other movers moved us in much more quickly, and even helped assemble furniture. Hector and Sons movers did not work efficiently. All three movers would leave our apartment at the same time and return together. It was really odd. Their loads weren't so big that they needed to escort each other. With the last move I did with a different company, there was always someone in and out, and they only escorted each other if there was something that was large and one person needed help lifting something. This move took 6 hours! Unbelievable. I've moved all of these possessions many times. It has never taken this long. We ended up helping them to get things moving. I remember packing several boxes with pillows, and all of the pillow boxes were the same type. The lead mover literally would walk upstairs with one box of pillows at a time. It was almost as if he didn't think I knew what I'd packed in those boxes. They also tore the straps off my golf bag. When I asked what happened, the same person said "If it happened, it was because your bag was old." Unbelievable. When they started moving us in, he was sure to tell us where he saw scuffs on the bannister. He did not tell us when he rammed a piece of furniture into our wall or about all the scuffs they made moving. It's a new construction house. You can't miss all the marks they made. With Covid going on they don't even wear masks, gloves, or shoe covers. That picture that they have of on Facebook of them wearing masks is a LIE! BEWARE THEY WEAR PPE! They will take several breaks to smoke cigarettes and your furniture will smell like cigarettes. They are extremely slow. They do not work efficiently at all 3 people to move a 3 bedroom home you would think may take 5 hrs give or take. Hector and Sons movers did not work efficiently AT All! All three movers ( yes three movers) would leave our house at the same time and return together. Like they are first time movers. Their loads were small. With the last move I did with a different company, I had 2 movers and they finished in half the time, there was always someone in and out, and they only escorted each other if there was something that was large and one person needed help lifting something. This move with HECTOR AND SONS took 8 HOURS WITH 3 MOVERS and they still were not done. I told them to just leave my home. In 8 hours they put together one bed out of five. They left my draws out of my dressers, TV stands were not put on any tv. They only take cash so that is a red flag. Don't make the same mistake I did. I hope I can save some of you with this post. These guys were great! Very professional, showed up on time, and hustled through the move. I had a one bedroom apartment in South End Charlotte and moved to another one bedroom in Uptown. The apartments were about a mile away. Hector & Sons finished the move in less than 2 hours. I was charged approximately $70 for two movers and one truck/per house ($140 total). Not bad for the amount of furniture I have. I will definitely use them again and would recommend Hector & Sons to anyone looking for movers. read more

I used Hector and Sons at the recommendation of a friend. From appointment scheduling to the actual move, the service was excellent! Both moving guys were very courteous and professional. They also took some things to storage for me. The price was fair as well. They took special care with my furniture. I have several pieces that are glass and they were not broken or scratched. Red flag...cash only companies. Okay, so I attempted to schedule their services today for a move . I requested a quote via the Yelp app. We agreed to some pricing and dates via the app. I then call to confirm. All of a sudden there is a lot of confusion and misinformation provided talking to operator on the phone. For example, they gave me 2/26 from 4pm -6pm as an option But when I talked on the lady on phone, she changed the availabilities and pricing, and said "oh that's just a bot on Yelp...it's not accurate & 2/26 at 4pm isn't available." When I ask clarifying questions, she started making up illogical reasons and couldn't provide clear answers. All of this while becoming very rude. Thus, they just missed out on a great customer. Point of this review: If you use them, just call. Don't utilize the Yelp "request a quote" function. They are unable to synthesize and communicate effectively. read more

The movers showed up on time as scheduled & ready to work. They immediately started to move the furniture out of the bedrooms without any type of wrapping/blankets. My husband asked if they were planning to wrap the furniture to prevent scratches, breakage etc. This seemed like a reasonable question but the movers became agitated. They spoke to each in their native language then informed us that they did not feel comfortable moving us. Wait.......what? They quickly went downstairs, returned with our two mattresses they had already placed on the truck, a bad attitude and left. I was disappointed in lack of professionalism and service. read more

Lucas & Damien did an awesome job moving me from my 2 bedroom townhome to my new home across town. They were friendly and very efficient. Almost all of my furniture had to be moved upstairs, including the washer & dryer. They did it all with ease. I have moved 4 times over the past 4 years, so I have had my share of movers. Great family owned moving company. Hector and his brother were prompt, polite as fast as they could be. I was happy with the condition of all of my items and would definitely hire them again for an in town move. Make sure you double check with reserving the elevator as someone hijacked my elevator time, but Hector and his brother sill worked around it and did an amazing job. Hired Hector and Sons just a week before our move across town and it couldn't have gone smoother. He collected all the information online and they called to confirm the day before.
