I have never been happier with a dealer's service department than I was at Hedricks Chevrolet yesterday. The cold weather had caused the battery in my Tahoe to fail - sending the car into a stall while displaying weird error messages...it was 11am, pouring down rain and I desperately needed the car for important meetings the next day. My first call to a Chevy Dealer let me know that they could not even look at my Tahoe until the next day - not even for a quick diagnosis. By contrast, the service manager at Hedricks approved a diagnostic check the same day - which showed that it was all battery related. Within 2 hours, working with Julian, my car had a new battery and I was on my way. Some dealers provide service - while others epitomize the spirit of service. The good news is I absolutely loved our sales person. He was amazing.. The car we were looking at was extremely filthy. It was a used Ford Explorer. The car was full of sand. It looked like someone went on the sand dunes with it. I couldn't believe they had it on the lot like that, but he guaranteed me that they would detail it and it would look brand new so I agreed and I purchased the car . on a Tuesday. It took them five hours to detail the car ,when I got it back, the inside wasn't done. The outside looked fantastic, but there's still sand dirt and the doors on the inside. Looked like they had milk splattered on them. I brought it back three days later and another five hours later and all they did was the vacuuming they did didn't do anything else. When I inquired again the man said we are understaffed and then to me.he said well I'm sorry it's not up to your standards and I felt like saying my standards it should be your standards. WARNING: Do NOT buy from Hedrick's Chevrolet in Clovis. I purchased a 2018 Chevy Colorado with about 90k miles in January 2026, and within just 70 days, the vehicle had been in the shop three separate times. The check engine light came on within the first 30 days of ownership. When I contacted Hedrick's service department, I was instructed to take the truck to Merced Chevrolet for a diagnostic evaluation. I was told that my warranty would cover the diagnostic and that next steps would be determined once the issue was identified. However, after taking the truck in, I was informed that the vehicle had preexisting issues and that the warranty would not cover the diagnostic because it does not take effect until 30 days after purchase. I had no choice but to pay the $500 diagnostic fee just to retrieve my vehicle and bring it back to Hedrick's for repairs. After nearly a week, their service department claimed the issue was fixed, replacing an O2 sensor and exhaust gasket. Exactly one week later, the check engine light came back on. I contacted Hedrick's again and was told to bring it back in. After another week in the shop, they stated repairs were completed, this time replacing another O2 sensor and the purge valve. Within three weeks, the check engine light and traction control light came on again. The truck began shaking and rattling and became undriveable. I contacted Hedrick's service department once more and spoke with Marty, who advised me to have the vehicle towed to American Chevrolet in Modesto, stating that my warranty would cover repairs there and that Hedrick's would coordinate with them. A few days later, I was informed by American Chevrolet that the fuel injectors needed to be replaced, but the repair was not covered under the warranty. When I followed up with Marty to understand my options, he referred me to the manager, Tanner Hedrick. I attempted to contact him multiple times, left a message, and never received a response. It took Amerian Chevrolet several phone calls and messages before Marty at Hedricks service department retuned their calls stating they would cover the diagnostic but not the repairs. At this point, I have no choice but to pay $3,000 out of pocket for repairs. I was sold a warranty policy under the understanding that repairs could be covered and completed at any Chevrolet dealership, which has not proven to be the case. I will also be filing formal complaints with the Better Business Bureau, DMV, Federal Trade Commission, and the Bureau of Automotive Repair. read more

We noticed that Hendricks had the exact truck we wanted and we were ready to buy. The other guys wanted us to pay over MSRP? Well, we just don't work that way. Hendricks was much more reasonable on price. On top of that, we had a 2 hour drive and got there just before closing. Wade made sure that he and staff did not rush, they took the time to be sure we got a full walk-through and test drive to be sure we knew what we were getting. Excellent experience all the way around. We'll drive an extra couple hours any day to get exceptional customer service and this was worth it. I asked for print out it didn't say anything about fuel pump all it show the same code I showed it to him and service changed for diagnostic when I made an appointment the girl told me $245 if it not transmission problem that I have to pay I agree,but when I brought my truck in for the check engine light on service advisor Mr Steve Sumaya told me the diagnostic going be $490 I asked why it double the price when I first made an appointment he didn't give the answer! I'm out nearly 1500 after checking my Chevy Bolt in to Hedrick's for service, and guess what? The same warning light that prompted the service visit is back on, just a week after Hedrick's claimed to have fixed it. Service technicians don't seem to know much about EVs; at least they don't inspire any confidence when presenting diagnostics; this impression seems to be confirmed by the disappointing results of their alleged "fix." Ultimately, they seem adept only at taking customers' money, charging $500 just for diagnostics and then charging another $600 for parts and labor. Having to bring it in on two separate occasions for the same problem, the inconvenience has been considerable. And at the end of the day, I'm left scratching my head and wondering what the Hell I was thinking bringing it to Hedrick's. I'll definitely be taking my EV elsewhere for future service needs. Let me start out by saying my family has purchased numerous vehicles from this dealership over the past 65 years. Given that history I didn't hesitate to buy my son a 2019 Subaru here on March 17, 2025. By April it was in the shop for new AC compressor, in June it needed a fuel pump and AC switch and in August the AC evaporator needed replacement. I understand that it's a gamble to buy a used car these days but the biggest disappointment is that the owners could not care less about all of the trouble we had with the car. Marty in service and Troy in sales were awesome and when I asked Brett Hedrick to consider working with us on a different vehicle, he ignored my request. Brandon the sales manager lied about giving me a good deal on another vehicle. I was so disillusioned until I went to Clovis Nissan and they did everything to help me get rid of the lemon and get my son into a new truck. I just wanted to warn all my friends to not go to Hedricks Chevrolet for service of any type! They are an incompetent bunch and could not diagnose and fix a simple clogged fuel filter. Charged me to check it but said they could not get parts to check further for my Chevy Diesel truck, so I picked up took it to a diesel mechanic and for 1/4 the cost and a fraction of the time fixed the problem. Took our Chevy SUV there for some problems and they gave us a $6000 estimate. I said "no thank you". Called a mechanic friend of mine who recommended his friend's auto shop. It was a drive out of town but it was well worth it because this shop saved me over $4000. They said I didn't even need some of the parts Hedricks said needed to be replaced. This is for the service department. 2024 Tahoe, had an appointment booked for nearly a month for an oil change and software update. Car was dropped off at 8AM. Returned for pickup at 430PM, still not done. I don't believe the oil change was even started till I asked where the car was. Best part, I get to make another appointment to complete the software update. The dealership was great in selling the car, but for 80K, you'd expect a lot better service or communication. read more

These people are so incredibly inconsiderate, rude, and sexist! I drove my 2019 Chevy Tahoe in here because this is where Carmax gave me an option of taking it, turns out they could not fix the problem and when I came to pick my car up, it had a flat tire!Granted the tire wasn't in great condition, but I drove it there. First they offered to change my tire to my spare, then told me for liability issues they could not, then when I tried to ask them can you just pull it out of your lot so I can physically change the tire myself he proceeded to put his hand in my face to get me to stop speaking and refused telling me I couldn't get my car unless I had it towed out of there. Stating "Honey, I'm doing you a favor at least you'll know it's safe." They finally changed the tire a week later when I threatened to sue them! read more

This is the most fly by night and dishonest dealership in the Central Valley. They sold me a new Chevy Silverado in 2021, it had regular oil changes before 5000 miles as required by the OEM & I had the transmission serviced BY HEDRICKS less than 6 months ago at the recommended mileage. I did everything right. I took it to them last week due to a ticking sound in the engine and their only solution was to quote me $11K for a new engine. The truck had less than 100,000 miles on it and due to a manufacturers default it was totaled. I spoke to one of their business admins at the office and they wouldn't even split the cost of the engine replacement with me. They also would not offer me trade in value for the LEMON they sold me. I explained my situation to one of their sales reps on Friday so that we could determine a trade in value & I could upgrade to a newer model truck through them and she said she would call me back on Monday. Absolutely zero correspondence, I never heard from her. I drafted up an email to their service manager to explain my dissatisfaction, no reply. I am out about $7-$10K and have opened up a case with GM's Corporate office. Now, every time somebody compliments the new truck I got from Sanger Chevrolet GMC I explicitly go out of my way to tell them my experience at Hedricks. I wish I could rate them 0/5 stars. I encourage you to start your car shopping journey literally anywhere else in the valley but here. I will be seeing what my options are legally to recoup my $7-10K loss in equity on the truck and I'll be filing a report with the Attorney General. read more

Probably the worst service department on the face of God's green earth. They only have one technician doing all the transmission work. Then they don't have anyone to do ac replacement jobs so they have to drive the vehicle off site. They will tell you your cables and battery needs to be replaced due to corrosion... So they will replace the cables and take off the corrosion but keep the weak battery installed for you and never replace it. They will keep your car for two months to do that work plus pressing in a mount, and charge you $700 on top of max care warranty and manufacturer recall notices. After calling Chevrolet customer engagement center and not having a car for two weeks they acted like it was gonna break their backs to supply me with a rental vehicle. Horrible service, horrible experience... Don't recommend whatsoever. read more

This was the worse experience I have ever had at a dealership. I was following a truck they had posted in their site that was priced at $14,178 for about 4-5 days. The day I finally I want to go and see it they tell me the price was a typo. So I asked them they "you made two separate typos?" Because the night before I went they bumped it up to $14,990 which was fine not a huge difference. The morning I decide to drive an hour to go see it I notice half way there they bump the price up to $17900 pretty big difference. I message Stephanie the lady I had been texting and she says the manager said that's the price and if we come on down we can work something out. Since I'm already almost there I end up going. I asked them about it when I got there and the man that was helping us said they change their prices all the time and since the truck was still new inventory they were still trying to get the price correct. He said they would go down to 16,999 but I had already done the pre-qualification for the listed price on their site 14,990. I got pre qualified and was ready to buy the truck. So the salesman gets really smart with me and says "prices change all the time and idk what to tell you but this is the price and we aren't going to give you the price it said online" so me trying to not get an Attitude because he is super rude, my husband says let's see the truck and see if we can work out a deal. Just to wait 10 mins and he says "so the truck isn't ready to be sold it still have to be inspected to see if the dealership wants to sell it or just auction it off. But good news is you can put a deposit down to reserve it if you'd like but unfortunately you can't test drive it because it's not cleared yet" so at this point I'm like why would I put a deposit if you'd guys don't even know if you're selling it. The fact that I was speaking to someone before I went to get the truck to inquire about it and they told me to come down and work out a deal and drove an hour to get the truck is ridiculous. The guy was so rude I think his name was James. Not honoring prices they have posted on multiple sites including their own site is so unprofessional and I will not recommend anyone to this dealership. read more

I bought a car 4 months ago from here, paid extra for warranty just to find out only ONE place takes and will see my car and its 40 minutes away, not even in Fresno. After having it for 4 months, it's giving me issues and not drivable right now. I tried to call Hedricks to let them know, and all I got was attitude from the service lady, and a manager who tried to send me off to a place who won't even accept my type of car. I was extremely happy driving out of the dealership a few months ago with my brand new vehicle. Unfortunately that feeling didn't last long as just a few weeks later the brakes began making a loud screeching noise. I took my car to Blackstone and that was just a terrible experience. I called Hedricks and spoke to the sales manager in which he assured me the technicians at hedricks would be able to diagnose the issue. I notified him that hedricks appointments were weeks out and he said he would give me a call back shortly with something set up. (This called occurred last Thursday and it's now Tuesday). I tried to call the dealership yesterday, however, after being transferred 3 times and being sent to a voicemail I gave up. As of late Hedricks Chevrolet has become inconsistent with addressing issues in the service department. Initially I had my trucks annual service done and had a factory warranty replacement done on my Vehicle that was suggested by the service department. Shortly afterwards my Engine light turned on and I took my truck in on Monday for my Appointment, a day and a half later I received a call saying I wouldn't have my truck looked at until Wednesday. Hedricks has always provided what seems to be quality work for vehicles and customers in their area. However if you are in need of equitable service for your vehicle and can't afford to have your vehicle in the shop for days on end then I would be cautious about taking your vehicle to Hedricks. Wouldn't give this place even one star if I didn't have to. My car is currently there... it's has been "in line" to be worked on for two months now.. still hasn't even been touched or started. Just sits in the back parking lot ruining my paint and seats in the hot sun. When I call for an update the lady Jackie is rude and doesn't give any time frame of when the car might even be started. Worst place I've ever taken a car to to be fixed. Never will again. And the prices are ridiculously expensive. Mind you I just bought the car in January, it still is under warranty yet they want 4k just to tear down the back end (which they haven't started for 2 months now) So much for spending $40k on a Chevy Also to add in the 2 months the car has been there not once has someone called me to update or even let me know I'm still waiting. I bought a used car, Aug 19th, 2022, Two weeks later I got my registration and Pink slip of ownership, however I did not received my sticker for car. I called 6 weeks later and they said I should get them anytime, just wait. 60 day's later "no sticker." Hedricks gave me a name and that she would take care of it, her name was Nichole. I called her twice and all I got was the voice mail, left message, however she never called back. I decided to call DMV and they said they mailed sticker to dealer. From the moment I walked onto the lot, everything and everyone was first rate. I had a specific pre-owned car I wanted to see, so I walked around the lot until I found it. I appreciate that I was not approached by a salesperson until it was obvious that I needed help. I was then approached by one gentleman (Eddie) who went to get the key. The manager (Jorge) came to bring the key and take me on a test drive. There was no pressure to buy. Instead, my questions were answered accurately and in a very friendly manner. In the past, I have had nice service until I didn't buy and was about to walk away. Yesterday, Jorge gave me all the numbers (no haggling) and was only kind and encouraging as I left, telling me he'd be available if I wanted to purchase, but he understood if timing wasn't right. I went back today to trade my car in and get financing (I am not sure of his name, but it was the manager of financing who helped me.) I am now driving the most amazing 2018 BMW 530e (hybrid - so cool!) I highly recommend this dealership for any of your car purchasing needs. read more

Long story short my son had to leave the next day to go back to school. The part that was needed had to be shipped from Reno. Ralph in the service department moved mountains over a 24 hour period to make sure that my son could get back to school. He was in contact with me every few hours with updates. I have bought 4 cars from here over the years, and have had (mostly) good experiences with them, so this review is not about their cars or their Sales Department, but the Service Department is deplorable. They don't fix things you ask them to, and when you call them on it, they tell you to "bring your car back another day." (this has happened to us on more than one occasion). The latest bad experience was when my wife took her Tahoe in for an oil change and to fix the automatic side mirrors that weren't working. Well, 8 1/2 hours later, my wife called to check on the status as they were nearing closing time. The lady she spoke with told her the oil change was complete, and the mirrors were being looked at, and her Service Representative would call her when it was done. Well Marty called her back literally 3 minutes later and said that they didn't have time to get to looking at the mirrors, and that she could leave her car overnight and they would look at it the next day. Uh, hard no. One person said they were checking on it, another said they didn't have time to get to it even though it had been there ALMOST NINE HOURS! Very suspicious. Honestly, I think he got mad that my wife called to check on the status, even though my wife was nothing but pleasant when she called. When Marty called, she asked him if they changed the air filter, and he didn't know anything about it. My wife told him that she told them twice to change it when she checked the car in (and it was on the estimate instructions), then Marty flat out lied and said, "No, your air filter is clean." Well, when we picked up her vehicle, the diagnostic printout showed her air filter in the yellow zone, because their service department is not truthful with their customers as well as having a "don't-care" attitude.
