Thankfully, I stopped by the Ashlan location, and the experience couldn't have been more different. The staff here was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and patient. They made sure I walked out with the correct parts and understood exactly what I needed for my car. What started as a hassle turned into a positive experience thanks to their great customer service. Terrible service and they treat their employees even worse. There are certain customers that will be treated better than others and these are not returning customers but first time customers. And also the managers are not any better and sometimes more rude. I have been in the store when employees and supervisors are yelling and cussing at each other. Would never recommend this location, go to the one ones on blackstone or marks. read more

I came in on a Saturday and it was pretty busy. Two of the associates were mostly interested in socializing with their friends that came in so it made the wait longer than it should of been. I just ran in to grab an oil filter so I didn't need help at the parts counter. The associate that helped me was very friendly. The store was ver clean. I had a battery problem in my car. Basically while at a gas station the car nearly wouldn't start. I immediately drove over to my local AutoZone for help. I was greeted by Sam. I gave Sam all of my information and that I needed a battery for my car. She quickly found the best battery for my car. And when I asked her would she change the battery she happily replied. I was quite impressed with her service and her knowledge about the battery system. She was able to remove the battery from my car, place the new battery in and hook up the new battery with ease. I was very impressed that I felt comfortable and assured I had the right woman for the job. I later found out she was management. I went in to check out some interior stuff for my car and was in there for quite some time, during my visit I saw a lot of managers on site? I was assuming for some sort of meeting but they all just stood around talking. None of them asked me if I needed any help and whenever another customer in the store did ask for help they seemed to brush it off or send a young gentleman to go help the customer. These guys are idiots. Doesn't even know how to do their own online returns. It took four people (they say they're all Managers) trying to figure out how to do it. They wouldn't accept one of the items saying it was used. I got fed up and took my returns to another location. They were able to do my returns quickly without any issues, even the one they didn't accept. Will never go back to this place again. O'reilly is not too far away. This used to be the home of a nice gym and when it went out of business AutoZone with into it. I have purchased some rotors that were not the correct ones after attempting to put them on the car. Some products that they were suppose to carry have been out of stock and the wax's and leather cleaners that they do have are very expensive. Purchased a Duralast battery (red) well over $200 for it to trigger my battery light in the car. I come back for a test to be told that the battery i bought is a bad battery and was instructed to come back to get a replacement and AutoZone can uninstall/install the battery for customer satisfaction. I arrived today to be forced to take their bad battery out my car initially even though they understood that it was not on me they would still have to go by their computer. After much of my own effort to remove the battery, the battery leaks battery acid on me but was told it was water. i was told the replacement is in stock without them checking which once they actually checked they did not. I was offered to upgrade my battery to gold with a 3year warranty but pay the difference for the charges $40. I shared frustration that that was not fair. Once they got frustrated they then suggested that I use my recycle credit for my old battery to go towards the cost difference and then they would install the battery. I shared frustration that that was not fair. I discover that the manager has been ringing out customers the whole time and is aware of my situation but still did not take control and do what is right. She is great at saying "welcome" but to resolve Autozone error is not her expertise. I budged out of frustration and agreed to use my recycle credit but before i pay anything to test the battery. They said that it's a brand new battery and fully charged, once they installed it they found out the battery is dead. They did not test battery like I asked. After so long they used my $20 credit towards them doing a buy here/pickup there for a duralast gold but i had to pick it up from the AutoZone on Shaw&Peach. They called that location and did a good job at telling them that I needed the battery plus for them to install it for customer satisfaction. I had to drive to the Shaw&Peach location to then get push back about the uninstall/reinstall of the battery. For some reason they needed to call this location again to figure out who said what. After so long the battery is replaced, healthy alternator and battery. In the end, i wasted my time and effort and lost $20. What should have been done was upgrade me to the next battery and take care of the charges along with warranty, which could have made this review a 5 star, even with me having to uninstall and reinstall myself. I even suggested this while in store but their manager that was helping everybody else while knowing about my situation didnt think so and made the employees look bad. This AutoZone could not cover $40 and reduce a customers effort. When you read other reviews you'll see folks got help with their battery with no problem what happened today? I will not come back to this location but to store they preferred, thanks for the recommendation atleast. read more

On one occasion they helped me with the installation of my car battery. And recently they even helped me install my windshield wipers. The employees at this place are incredibly helpful. After going to two other places to get a battery and literally was not helped (Thanks Walmart and Pep Boys), I was frazzled when I walked in. However, in a matter of a few minutes Sam had my battery removed from my SUV and a new one installed. She was very knowledgeable and her level of customer service was amazing. The next morning I discovered I needed to go back for another small part and a gentleman (who's name I can't recall) was just as helpful and went above and beyond by installing the part for me as well. I walked in around store opening with the intent to recycle about 5 gallons of oil and get new brake pads. Was helped promptly by (I think the manager? He had on a gray shirt which was different from the other employee). He did not look too happy about me bringing in used motor oil to recycle. He took my used oil to the back and did his thing. When he came back up with my empty container, he looked furious. He told me that next time I cannot fill the container as full as I did (almost topped off, about 1 inch of clearance) because it makes a mess and he won't be able to recycle it (at this point I knew he was fuming because his voice was shaking). I apologized and thanked him, but he walked away and (excessively) threw his gloves away without saying anything. I walked out without even asking about my brake pads. I understand that I made a mistake by filling the 5-gallon bucket as full as I did (never was told / read not to do that), but I won't fill it up that much again. At the same time, holy cow! Talk about piss poor attitude and customer service! The choice of words as well as body language and failure to respond speaks volumes to a customer! I will drive an extra 2 minutes and take my business to O'Reilly. Maybe I'll come back when I have 4 gallons of oil and give them another shot. As a follow-up review towards a recent visit I made to get a fuse/wiper issue fixed... I wanted to say I'm still very impressed with this location. I can say with absolute certainly that the customer is their first concern even over profits. Despite what some may think that is actually the smartest formula to apply to your business as that will bring in profits. Management is very professional and actually fun to talk with. Great job Leo! I sent my wife in to get a new battery and Leo helped her out. He did an amazing job, her terminal was badly corroded and couldn't get a good reading. So, he cleaned it to get a good reading then the terminal broke while wrenching it off. He went out of his way to rewire the new terminal since the wires had to be cut to get the corroded terminal off. He spent a good hour working on this in this in cold rainy weather. He is why I will go to this location and send my family to also. Remember to ask for Leo. read more

The idiot named Rocky picked up the phone in the middle of helping me, then spends 10 minutes on the phone with another customer while I just stood there in disbelief. The level of customer service is one of the worst that I've ever experienced. Wtf, autozone?! Why don't you train your employees better? I started off my experience with Auto Zone by calling to ask if they had a new battery for my bar. The guy on the phone was so enthusiastic and helpful. If not for how nice and welcoming he was, I might have gone somewhere else. I later learned his name was Roger, the same guy that then installed my battery once I got there. He seems like he loves his job, he knows his stuff, and he enjoys what he does. Additionally, while I waited to be cashed out each staff member checked to see if I needed anything. I would have given this store 5 stars because the first salesman and manager i dealt with were super helpful and nice. I believe one of their names were Mark. They ordered an item for me, took my info, had me pay, and said it will arrive on x day and time. So, I went to pick up the item on the specified date and time, and the MANAGER (Jose) , yes manager, whom you expect to be knowledgable and have great customer was a complete discrimatory A**!!. He insulted me and proceeded to insult the gentleman, an employee, that assisted by asking questions about the individual who assisted me, such as race, height, weight, as if any of that mattered. Not once did he look in the system, which he would have discovered what I ordered despite me telling him or even walk to the back to see if my item arrived. Instead, he looked at me with a deer in the headlights look as if i, a female didn't know what I was talking about and was more concerned about the person who assisted me. Finally, another manager arrived, who was already off the clock assisted me. Get that guy fired...he was rude, useless, and treated myself and his employees terribly. read more
