I came here because its close to work and she took my appointment right away. I went in with concerns about rapid heartbeat, and occasional migraines. The first red flag was her calling me Christina the entire time- its NOT my name. She immediately said "are you married? Have marital problems? This is a big factor that causes this" What kind of concerned doctor says marriage is the issue to fast heatbeat? Long story short...she said i was suffering from high stress and anxiety from my personal life, like most other women my age (mid-late twenties!!!!), even after i told her i was pretty happy all the time. After saying this she suggested we do an ekg to get a reading of my heart health. The assistant comes in and has me undress up top, starts to take the test..then says there is an issue- that the machine didnt read correctly, so the test was not complete. But once she went out to get Dr. Heideh for help, the doc came in reading the results to me as if nothing was wrong with them :( She prescribed me an antidepressant, and said i was healthy overall, but she would like to see me in 3 weeks after taking a trial test of Zoloft. I left her office very dissapointed in the health care system..wondering how this woman is still working, and I threw the prescription away. After 3 weeks they called me to see what happened and i didnt answer the phone. I hadnt read the reviews here before seeing her, but i sure did waste my time. Note: she will continuously have her assistant call you for appointment reminders to confirm you are coming in so that she can make sure shes still getting paid to tell you rubbish. read more

She has been my doctor ever since i can remember. She was one of the few doctors who allowed me to ask all the questions I wanted. I'm very involved in the medical field, so I have insight on a lot of the infections and issues I deal with. Before going into any appointment I generally have an idea of all the symptoms, causes, and associated problems with whatever is making me feel ill. Most doctor's dont really listen to what i have to say and make blanket statements that are of no use to me. For example, an orthoped told me I had osteoarthritis, when I gave him the list of overwhelming evidence as to why I don't have it, he started talking about something else. When I came to Dr. Khalilnejad, she went through my list and acknowledged my issue. She even gave pointers and useful feedback. Very fast feedback on everything. She always answers her phone (its connected to her cell if the office doesnt answer) and almost always makes prescriptions for me the next day. I'm surprised by many of these review here. I'm assuming their one time patients trying to either get some sketchy prescriptions or pills. Some people are really a$$h0les out there. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Khalilnejad for a couple of years now and she is great. Her bedside manner is very professional she takes the time to ask how I am Feeling, how things have been between visits and really makes it feel like I'm not just any patient and she genuinely cares. I have also gone to her for insurance documents that need to be filled out by my doctor, she knew it was a time sensitive document and got me in and out as soon as she could. Overall I recommend her as a family doctor. I always feel comfortable going to her whether it's a simple cold or a gynecology issue. Thumbs up! read more

I just moved from Miami three days ago. When faced with the most painful sore throat and 103 fever I quickly googled the primary physicians in my direct area. Dr.Heidih's immediately answered the phone and saw me within the hour. They are polite and professional. The doctor was very informative. Moving to a new city, let alone new state can be stressful. This Dr. was randomly assigned to me by my HMO- I had a emergency come up and had to go see this Dr. before I could change to the regular Medical group I go to. I wont go into the details as it was quite personal but this Dr. was rude, had HORRIBLE bed side manner, had little to no interests in hearing what I had to say, made me feel very embarrssed as to why I came in there. I agree with the other review- I would have paid out of pocket and gone to Planned Parenthood over this. At the end of the appointment she left the door open (I was half naked!) and never came back to give me my script, after I got fed up of waiting I find it was "waiting" at the front office. I went there to get a physical, and the lab tests got sent to her. She told me everything was fine. Later I went to pick up a copy of the report and saw that several numbers were out of range. I am never going back again and would not ever recommend this person as a physician. I was assigned to Dr. Khaliilnejad when I joined my work insurance program. I went to her for a few years 1-2 visits per year. She's a nice lady, but I cannot recommend her. I want a doctor I can trust. Anecdotal example: I caught a flu running around my office one year. Without taking a culture, she told me it was impossible for me to get the flu since I had the flu shot that year. This is a common misperception among lay people but not what I expect to hear from a doctor. The flu shot merely protects you from about 3 of last winter's worst flus. I'm a big believer in the public health benefits of the flu shot, but new flus are always emerging. When I mentioned this, she insisted I was wrong and she was right, and it was impossible to get a flu if you had a flu shot. I don't want a doctor who declares something false with vigor. read more

Yesterday I went to see Heideh because I have been having my period for two weeks. When I was 12 and first started my period I was anemic and it didn't stop for over six weeks, to the point where I had to take birth control pills to stop it. My twin sister had the same problem and ended up having to get a blood transfusion, needless to say I take my period seriously. When I explained this to Heideh she assured me "All girls have abnormal periods when they first start, that is very normal!" She didn't even blink when I mentioned that I had it over SIX WEEKS. After this, she asks me if I'm pregnant.. To which I of course reply "No." She asks how do I know? Well, for one I've been bleeding for two weeks. I calmly explain to her that I'm on birth control. She asks what kind, to which I reply "The ring" At this point Heideh says "No, that's not real birth control. Why aren't you on real birth control?" I tell her "It IS real birth control.. You know, the Nuva-Ring" Again she insists, "No, that is like the condom. That isn't real birth control. Real birth control is the pill or the shot." I'm completely flabbergasted at this point. Finally I manage "But there are hormones in it!" Which turns on a light in her brain and she finally agrees, "Oh! It's a hormonal ring! OK" At this point she says she cannot look at me until I stop bleeding. This was a huge let down, as I am very concerned as to WHY I am bleeding, as well as other discomfort that I am feeling down there. Unfortunately I didn't want to argue with someone who doesn't even know common forms of birth control. Heideh then wrote me a prescription for a drug and did not tell me any details besides that it will make me stop bleeding. I have never in my life had a more incompetent doctor. I'd much rather go to Planned Parenthood where they actually know what they are doing. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Khalilnejad since late winter/early spring. In my experience, her bedside manner has been impeccable and very caring. She is willing to discuss what should and should not be top priority, and prefers to wait if she believes an issue might clear up or is not as serious as the patient worries, rather then ordering a plethora of unneeded tests. Her approach is hands on, in the style of a traditional family doctor, and she prefers to schedule multiple short appointments while a patient is adjusting to a new medication to insure that dosage is correct. She also recommended an excellent pediatrician for my children. I like having a doctor who remembers my name and face. That's a rare thing these days. I also enjoy knowing that her patient load is small enough that I can schedule an appointment at any time should an emergency arise. With the faceless big medical groups, I thought you couldn't find a doctor like this anymore, and the difference between her rating here and elsewhere on the Internet strikes me as strange. read more

I am not normally a review poster, but I absolutely had to review after what was probably the least professional interaction I've ever had with a doctor. Heideh was listed as my primary physician, and I called to talk through a medical issue I was having before deciding what the right next steps were (appointment, urg. care, emergency). She continually interrupted me, would not let me explain my situation to her and was incredibly rude. The other reviews on the page could not be more accurate. I'm not sure if she is knowledgeable or capable as a physician because I was never able to actually explain my situation before finally giving up and getting off the phone with her. This review is long overdue. I went to this doctor last year in December 2014, but I had such a horrible experience that I still tell people about it till this day. I wish I saw her reviews beforehand. I made an appointment for a regular exam and wanted birth control pills. The receptionist, the blonde one who was very unprofessional on the phone, said it's their office policy to complete a pap smear before prescribing BC pills so I agreed. When Dr. Heideh came in the room she was very impersonal and started the pap smear right away. She kept telling me to move lower on the exam table and said "keep going... it'll feel like you're falling." After an uncomfortable 2-3 mins she was done and got up and said, "Okay, we'll call you in a few days if your results show anything." That was it and she left the room without even asking me if I had any questions! I was so confused and walked out to the receptionist and told her that Dr. Heideh did not perform a complete exam and the receptionist told me that I will have to make another appointment for an exam. Why couldn't she do the pap smear along with a complete exam, which was what I originally made the appointment for? Oh I know, because she would get more money if she bills out for two exams on different date of services. I work with insurance companies so I can validate that. I do NOT recommend this doctor because she does not care for the well being of her patients nor tries to listen to their questions or concerns. She only tries to make as much money as she can in a short amount of time. Also, the multiple signs posted around the waiting room that they prefer copay in cash only makes her look even more money hungry. Side note: Dr. Heideh also does not know how to properly fill out a prescription slip (in my case for BC pills) because the pharmacist went on a tangent about how the prescription was so vague and filled out incorrectly. read more

We have had Dr. Heideh as our family physician for the last 3 years and more. I guess Dr. Heideh belongs to the school of thought that you don't need to fix something that is not broken and that you need to take a holistic view of patient health - which means look at lifestyle related issues such as stress etc. before jumping into a list of tests and medications. Most of the negative reviews point toward her stress on holistic care-giving vs. someone who runs you through a list of tests and medications. She has taken a lot of interest in our family's health issues including coaching me gently on improving my diet choices that has led me to lose weight and get a good control over my blood pressure and other issues. At a time when most Doctor's are influenced more by insurance companies and lawyers we are glad that we found a Doctor who puts the patient first - and more importantly understands that taking a view of the overall patients lifestyle is important to delivering results. I hope these reviews help in some way, or that she reads them at least and see what people think of her. She never got back to me about my pap smear results which turned out not to be normal. I wish there was a button to give negative rating to this doctor. I happened to go to her office when my Primary physician was out of town and she was taking care of her patient. I was down with cold and just had a less than 10 min visit. All she did was ask 3-4 question and prescribe an antibiotic. Her office charged me $150 during my visit as I had not met my deductible. After a month I got the second bill and the total for the bill was $225. Really writing a prescription and 5 mins visit costs you this amount!! Unbelievable. After 3 weeks I got my results directly from the lab and saw that there was postive on something of concern. I have been a patient of Dr. Khalilnejad for the last 5 years. Her office is very close to my work place and typically I can make an appointment for the same or next day. While not everything is perfect I am shocked by the very bad reviews I saw on yelp. One recurring review issue has to do with the payment method. I have paid with my FSA card for the last 4-5 times and even before that I don't recall any issue with insurance, copay amount or paying method. I have HMO and reasonable coverage. I did notice that Dr. Khalilnejad is a bit impatient or in a hurry sometimes (that's why I don't give 5 out of 5) but she did answer each question I had when I wanted further clarifications. I think a patient will do well if she/he prepares a list of clear questions and presses for clarifications when needed. I had only one major health emergency and she acted very quickly to address it. In another situation when I had a sprained ankle she did send me to X-rays (nothing was broken) and she didn't send me to massage therapy when I asked, telling me that time will fix it, which was kind of true, 2 years later I can run and hike with no problems without any treatment. But I can see how some patients might perceive a lack of strong action. I'm not a doctor so I can't tell if strong action is required or is better than no action in certain situations. I also travel to exotic destinations and I had no problems getting vaccines or prescriptions for malaria medication at her office. read more

I recently moved to San Jose and almost immediately after arrival I suffered a stroke (at 27 years old) and had to find a PCP ASAP to help me manage my condition. I found Dr. Heideh through ZocDoc and my experience has been nothing but positive. I am writing this review because I am shocked that her yelp reviews are so low. She has treated my wife and I with the utmost professionalism and has been very thorough in her exams and gathering of family history. The office itself isn't glamorous. It is small but functional. The receptionist is quiet but very polite and friendly. The only oddity is that you must pay your copay with cash, although my neurologist's office is the same way. The first time I went I had to go to an atm(there is a wells fargo in same parking lot) to get cash but now I know to always bring cash with me - no big deal. Dr. Heideh is now my wife's primary care physician as well. We are glad to have such a knowledgeable physician(coming from someone who works in the medical field) whom is so accommodating to those who have inflexible schedules. Dr. Heideh doesn't order unnecessary testing which may turn off a lot of patients that think that every test under the sun needs to be ordered for minor conditions. I started out with the same attitude with Dr. Khailinejad. I see her regularly now; she respects my own choices, regarding tests, meds, ect. Not easy to find that kind of doctor. I am an adult and will be responsible for my choices. I appreciate her feedback and education , but ultimately want to be free to make my own choices, about a treatment, test, or medication. I have always been able to get in for an appointment in a timely manner, she has always been present for me while I am there, also shows concern for my health. She was rude, arrogant, unprofessional, and disrespectful among other things. My final visit ended with me firing her on the spot as our physician due to her behavior which became hostile this time around. I have been visiting Dr. Khalilnejad for almost 10 years now and I am very happy with her. On more than one occasions, she diagnosed me properly for the flu and I was a happy camper after I took the medicine for 3-4 days. She gives ample time to me and never seems to be in hurry. My husband and I were automatically assigned to Dr. Khalilnejad as our PCP through our HMO plan. So I went to go see her for an annual physical and a pap smear, as she is also a gynecologist. I will not be going back. I have never given any person or business one-star on Yelp, but I'm afraid I have to in this case. I tried to be a "good patient" and prepared for my annual physical by writing up a one-page list of the health issues I wanted to discuss with the doctor with some background information, ie some sleep issues, digestive trouble, skin problems, etc.. It was only one page, but she looked angry when I asked her to read it, and repeated to me several times that I was allowed no more than 15 minutes with her and that my HMO plan was extremely limited. She wouldn't look at it and told me to just sum up what was on the sheet. So I did. For the sleep issues, she prescribed me Ambien, which is addictive and loses its efficacy over time (I later read). For the skin problems, I asked her to refer me to a dermatologist, and she demanded who had told me I needed to see a dermatologist. I told her my former gynecologist had, but I hadn't gone yet, but she would not give me a referral. Without asking me any questions or looking at the area, she told me to just use some gentle soap to clean the area and see if that worked, and if not I could come back, and she would try something else. I also asked her to refer me to an endocrinologist, as I have been going to one for years under my former health plans and use a prescription medication that only endocrinologists prescribe. She at first told me that my HMO didn't have any endocrinologists in the plan, but I had already looked some up on the HMO website, and told her this wasn't true. In fact, it was an absurd assertion for her to make that she must have known was not true; endocrinologists treat diabetes among other things, and considering how many diabetics there are in this country, any standard health plan would include these types of doctors, and I can't have been the first patient to request one from her. She said if I could find one in my plan and give her the name that she would do the referral. So I did, but I had to follow up on the phone 3-4 times before they got it done, and I got the distinct feeling that they would have completely blown me off had I not been persistent. For the other problems I had listed on my sheet, she either told me that she didn't deal with that sort of thing and left it at that, or she told me that I would need to make separate appointments for each issue and come back multiple times. Cha-ching for her! I had already scheduled a standard pap smear with her for two days after the physical, so I went rather than having to wait another month for an appointment with a different doctor. I mentioned to her that I have a gynecologically-related condition that is fairly common, ie 7-10% of women have it, and I referred to it by its acronym that is used in all the medical literature I have read on the subject, and she asked, "What is that?", and I had to spell it out for her before she recognized it. This lady is supposed to be a gynecologist!! Also, she does not report back on your pap smear results unless there is something wrong, if that bothers you. My former gynecologists would usually send a letter reporting that the results were normal, so you know they didn't just drop the ball somewhere along the way. Also, regarding my "extremely limited" health plan, I will be changing to a PPO next year as HMO's apparently do suck in many ways. However, the endocrinologist I finally got to see under my current plan spent a full hour with me on my first visit and expressed extreme surprise over Dr. Khalilnejad's behavior. The PCP is supposed to guide the patient to the correct specialty doctors as needed and supervise overall care, but I felt like Dr. Khalilnejad was much more of a gatekeeper and was more interested in keeping me from getting to see other doctors and from receiving proper treatment based on a thorough investigation of the problems at hand rather than just an off-hand diagnosis. I read the other people's reviews here with interest, and can only say I wish I had read them first before going to her. It's funny that several people mention that they were automatically assigned to her as their PCP. Doctors worth their salt with a good patient base are much less likely to have people randomly assigned to them, as their roster will already be closer to full. Also, there were very few people in the waiting room with me, which somewhat confirms that. I also noted that Dr. Khalilnejad received her degree from the University of Tehran. She must have taken the U.S. medical board exams in order to be able to practice in this country, but I am personally interested to know what her score was; based on my experience with her, my guess is that it was not great. I used to get my birth control from my college and I just graduated. When I went to Walgreens they asked Heideh to refill it and she did. That was an awesome feeling . this really is a terrible doctor. 1. can't spell. at all. asked numerous times how to spell my name as to be able to find my medical file. this with phone call #1, a follow up phone call #2, and then finally #3- a request for a DOB to be able to locate my file because the spelling of my name wasn't doing it. DO NOT GO HERE. After several nondescript general care and obgyn visits in 2016, I last went in to visit Heideh on September 7th complaining of abdominal pain, fever, swelling, vomiting, and other stomach concerns. In a less than five minute appointment she brushed me off with a dismissal of food poisoning. The next day I ended up in the emergency room with a severe colon infection, severe abdominal pain, and bleeding and had to be hospitalized for four days. She doesn't take the time to properly diagnose and she doesn't listen to her patients. The negative reviews here are all spot on. Additionally, they've switched to a cash only system so your cards aren't good here. If you ignore this review (because I guess you don't care about your actual health), be sure to get receipts so that they can't claim later on that they never received payment. This is a money mill, not a doctor's office, and misdiagnosis can be lethal in these matters. I got lucky the pain became untolerable or I might have been inclined to skip the ER and be in seriously bad shape. AGAIN, DO NOT GO HERE. read more

The worst doctor I have ever seen, period. She was a ransdm doctor assigned by my insurance as my primary care physician as I did not select one by default. And she is open for appointments pretty much any time. No wonder! If you go to her once (or at most 2 times like I did), you will never go back to her. She doesn't discuss anything with you. Doesn't even listen to you properly. I won't get into the details, but don't go to her if you are pregnant because she really doesn't know what she is doing. I had the misfortune of doing that and would never recommend it to anyone else. She is insensible and rude and doesn't really care about your well being. I needed to see another obgyn (for an emergency) who was not in my network. The insurance said they wouldn't have a problem with it if my PCP would give me a referral for it. When I called her for it and told her , she started yelling at me over the phone asking who the 'hell' I thought I was to ask her for the referral. If I could give negative stars I would. I was auto assigned to dr khalilnejad through my HMO and went on 3/19/13 to get help for a plugged ear that I can barely hear out of. First off the waiting room was empty (not a good sign at 1:15 in the afternoon) the nurse/receptionist was friendly, which was the only positive part of the visit. When the doc came in to see me she seemed rushed and didn't ask me any questions about my health or allergies or anything really. I told her the problem with my ear and she said she can't help me and wanted to refer me to an ear specialist. I asked her to please do an ear wash or anything to help me. She said she can't and I would have to wait days for insurance approval. Really? I agreed to the ear specialist and was out of there within 10 minutes. I called the next day to follow up and she said "you can wait for up to 5 days to hear from the specialist or go to the ER or urgent care"! Unbelievable!!! I told her was not happy with my visit to her office and she said "I am also unhappy, you can call your insurance to change to a different doctor" I can't believe how horrible this doc is. Also after telling my coworker about this. She said she had visited same doc last week and had the worst experience of her life at a doctors office. Makes you wonder why she has so many openings through the auto assigned HMO. Good luck to you if you visit! You will need it!! read more
