I hate to leave a poor review for her, but maybe this will get her attention. We had a photo shoot with her four months ago and she has since disappeared. Not answered phone calls, texts, emails. The photo shoot was strategically timed to capture a time in our baby's life that he has since outgrown. I have no idea what the proofs even look like and am losing hope I will ever see them. I'm not sure what is going on, but I can't say I'm not a little heartbroken over this. read more

I was extremely disappointed with Heidi Walter Photography. We were so excited to work with her as it seemed like over the phone we hit it off quite well, joking, and laughing. I have worked with other photographers in the past and feel as though you should genuinely like and have a good relationship with the person you are inviting to share such special memories with. Being new to the area we had to find someone to take family Christmas photos of our beautiful daughters first Christmas and Heidi seemed like she would do such a great job. Things sort of fell apart when there were a series of unanswered emails, unreturned phone calls, and then finally just miscommunication that ended in Heidi being very unprofessional over the phone. I at first felt really bad, thought maybe I caught her at a bad time (she kept telling me how she was busy, driving and picking up her kids, at the pediatricians office, etc.) but then I thought well, we are all busy in our lives,( I happened to be at the pediatricians office too while she was telling me how hectic her day was), that doesn't excuse the poor behavior that was exhibited. In the end, I decided to cancel our shoot with her, because for one, it was 2 days before the shoot and there was still no confirmation of the time, location, etc. and two, with impending rain, I simply asked her if there was a contigency plan B, indoors, or reschedule and her response to me was "I can't control the weather, I don't know what you want me to do!". So, on that note, I thought better to politely cancel rather than have an uncomfortable awkward shoot. So, while I'm sure she does great work, I was not willing to pay for such unprofessionalism. read more

Heidi shot both my boys head shots for a commercial/modeling agency. She was great with both my boys.. and talked to them the entire time she was taking their picture. She made them feel so comfortable and at ease, that she was able to capture some really great photos! She's friendly, professional and communicative. Heidi did an amazing job with our newborn photos! She was able to get great shots in our house with stuff we had. She also brought a ton of sweet props, thankfully, as we hadn't really prepared! She was patient and took her time, and she didn't mind taking breaks for feedings or crying. Heidi is an amazing, extremely talented photographer! She took pictures of my newborn as well as my 3 and 6 year old boys. The pictures she took of them bring tears to my eyes each time I look at them. I know I will treasure them for the rest of my life. I honestly don't know how she does it, but she brought out the best and real smiles in the older kids and she confidently put my baby (10 days old) in all kinds of positions (sleeping and awake). Heidi is a true talent. She was so flexible in scheduling a family photo shoot for our family of 5, and she is fantastic with kids. Sometimes kids are a little apprehensive in front of the camera, but Heidi made it seem like she was an Aunt taking a walk on the beach with us, playing with the kids, asking them questions about their lives, and in this playful, conversational approach, captured the true spirit of our family in some great shots! We have been so lucky to have found Heidi- she's worked with our family for the past 3 years! She has been with us since our son turned one and we've done three family sessions with her. Her work is incredible each time. We're always LOVED the pictures and beyond thrilled that each session has come out great.
