    Pepperoni Roll

Just had a pepperoni roll from Heidi's that a friend brought back to me in Bel Air, Maryland. It was excellent! Growing up eating pepperoni rolls from my grandmother's hometown of Fairmont, WV, I've had some good ones. This ranks right up there with the best! A generous amount of pepperoni in freshly baked bread...perfection!

On a country road away from the bustle of city, you find a gem in this local bakery and cafe. Operated by the Mennonite family, atmosphere is warm and friendly. The food was amazing! My husband and I both ordered Crispy Chicken Wrap and Russian Cabbage soup. The crispy chicken was actually really crispy and yummy with lots of veggies. The soup was a bit on the sweet side but also flavorful and good. The best was their Cinnamon Brown Butter scone-delicious! If we come by this area, we'll def stop by here!

We were rewarded with a nice meal on the porch after Heidi's was recommended to us by a local. The restaurant on a farm was well worth the detour. Sophie devoured her Poppyseed Piggy (an unhealthy but tasty sandwich), I enjoyed my breakfast wrap (although it needed the salsa), and Marnie enjoyed the farmer's salad. The mint tea was too sweet, but was ok once watered down.

If your are the kind of person who would enjoy capping an early morning drive through verdant rural farms along country roads and then get a delicious homemade omelette or breakfast croissant for breakfast, while sitting outside viewing the silos across the road with the bobwhite quail calling from the nearby coop, watching as the tractor crawls by, then you HAVE to check this place out! The dogs are chill and the kitties are charmingly cute. But the bread/toast is absolutely to die for! You may ask yourself as you are traveling Blue Ribbon Road, "now why am I coming out here in the boonies?"...rest assured, this breakfast is well worth the trip!

Food is fabulous, the breakfasts are the best I have had ever at a restaurant. The bakery goods are also terrific. The cookies and cupcakes are yummy. Their sourdough bread is great for French toast!

Sweet little cafe in the middle of nowhere. Breakfast all day! I highly recommend Wilburs omelette; best one I've had, stuffed full of sausage bacon and cheese. Free wifi and a unique place to relax

Love supporting family owned businesses. They were wonderful and so was the food. I definitely will be visiting again.

I asked a couple questions about the menu and was immediately directed to the BLT by a woman in the kitchen. Wow I wasn't disappointed. It was sooooo good. The bread was toasted perfectly (so it didn't kill the roof of my mouth), the tomato's and lettuce were fresh, the bacon crispy, and that basil mayo. A life changing BLT if there is such a thing. A couple side notes I appreciate. Bittersweet's marketing team deserves. Ton of credit - they have some awesome swag available for purchase. Also, this is a Christian oriented cafe with bible verses, messaging, and music. Love it! And finally, check out the story about Bittersweet's roots, its commitment to addiction recovery/support, and the owner's son's story/passing. The name "Bittersweet Cafe" will take on a deeper meaning (the news articles can be found in the walls before the counter by the bathrooms). Cheers Bittersweet, thanks for having me, and God bless!

Nice landscaping provides a near perfect setting to enjoy a cup of coffee. I ended up getting a simple red eye. It was delicious. I understand they brew Iron Star coffee out of West Mifflin. The same Iron Star that owns Coffee Tree shops. If this coffee is any indication, I think I need to visit Coffee Tree again. It's been a while. Anyway, I had a really good cup of coffee and a peanut butter and jelly cookie. No complaints on the cookie, but I wish they had some breakfast sweets like scones or cinnamon rolls. Next time I'll try some real food. Just be aware that things are a little pricey here.
