Avocado toast with egg and Belgium waffle with strawberry
    Kristina S.

Came to visit my friend in Mill Run and we both tried this place for the first time. I got the avocado toast with egg and he got the Belgium waffle. We were greeted by bob the cat on the patio who was so sweet and loved pets. We ordered and they brought it out to us, the staff was so nice and I love the decorations this place is so pretty, they have so many plants and I even saw someone cutting some herbs from outside, this is a great place to get a snack or meal and relax outside enjoying the peaceful ambiance. The food was great very simple and tasty felt homemade.

Omg. The absolute *cutest* cafe in the Ohiopyle area. The garden and flowers are absolutely gorgeous and we loved the little outdoor kitty! On a weekend, expect there to be a line but once we ordered it didn't take too long for the food to come out. They have an amazing selection of coffees and fresh teas and lemonades--get the lavender if you can!!! We decided to split the pulled pork grilled cheese--and wow. It was on fresh sourdough with an incredible homemade barbecue dipping sauce. My only regret was not ordering more things to try! 100% worth the stop when you're in the area--sooo cute and homey.

I was in town with my best friends last weekend for my bachelorette, and we came across Bittersweet Cafe during our visit in the area. It is a very cozy and lovely space with a wide variety of delicious sandwiches and drinks! We all were fans of the Angry Bird Panini as well as their Belgian waffles! Their iced tea offerings were some of the best I've had at a cafe as well! They have fresh squeezed lemonade which makes for a delicious Arnold Palmer, and they have a fantastic iced orange and pomegranate tea drink that we all agreed was a favorite! The service was welcoming and attentive, it truly felt bittersweet leaving Farmington knowing the cafe wasn't coming with us! The cafe itself is dedicated to the owners son and has a powerful story behind it, all are welcome at their cafe and it shows! :)

One of the best burgers Ive ever had. Just flavor flavor flavor. Tomatoes were ripe and sweet. Burger was savory. Sauce was zesty. Just an all around hit. BLT burger was a banger. Tomato soup killed it. Just incredible. This place is off the charts. Come here if you wanna get the best

Mother and son owners. Salt of the earth. Everything done with love and heart. If I had my ukulele, I'd write a song about this cafe. Their food is amazingly delicious, flavorful and fresh. I absolutely loved my salmon sandwich and delicious salad. We also got a berry smoothie and a lemonade to go. The decor has a lovely vibe. Cozy and country but modern. And their wall of kindness . PAY it Forward wall. It brought tears to my eyes to see how nice folks can be . Folks taking time to donate and be kind. Witness this kindness indeed, written offer to treat a person in need . This brought a tear to my eye... I had to join in and buy ( and fill out the dedication) This is a sweet sweet spot. My heart is full & my tummy too.

Cool space.. but pretty limited menu for breakfast options and the sandwich was overall bland. They provided 2 condiments which I used but still needed something, salt and pepper even.. the price was kind of steep for a sandwich $10 for an English muffin sandwich and nothing else. I think the English muffins were homemade which was appreciated but not something I would return for but was a quick stop as we were passing through. To each their own though! The space was very clean and serene .. nice outdoor seating and landscaping and a sweet shop cat that roams around. The staff were very nice. It may be someone's hidden gem but not my cup of tea.

When visiting Ohiopyle and the surrounding area, this place is a must! From their locally sourced goods to the friendly cats, I love everything about coming here. We got waffles and a burger on my last visit to Bittersweet with my son, and I got a seasonal s'mores latte. While we sat and ate, I noticed tags hung on Christmas garland that were donated by fellow customers for people in need. Some of the descriptions were "for someone who feels lonely," "for someone struggling with mental health", "for a single mother" and that was one of the most touching things I have seen this season. The workers have been nothing but kind any time I've been here, and the food is always 10/10. Highly recommend this place and can't wait to come back and visit again. Also, I got a handmade jar of their pear and ginger preserves and can't wait to bake with it!!

The Bittersweet Cafe has so much heart! The owner' son passed away from overdose, and so part of their proceeds go toward helping addicts. There were a lot of encouraging notes and signs all around the cafe. The cafe itself is also super cute. We sat on the wraparound porch, which has a bunch of healthy looking plants everywhere. It felt like a place that's really loved. I got the Bittersweet burger and a blackberry lemonade. The burger has hot pepper jelly on it that made it a little sweet. It wasn't what I expected, but it was still yummy. The lemonade was great. They seemed a bit understaffed though. It was nice taking our time and staying a while. But if you're on a schedule, I wouldn't come during their busy hours. Overall I really enjoyed my experience here and would come back to try something else.

Stopped in here for lunch on our way to Fallingwater, I had a BBQ pork which was very good and my daughter had the grilled cheese which she liked very much. What I did not like was having to pay $5+ dollars for an ice tea and then not being able to get a refill without paying an additional $2.50, I have never been in a restaurant where you had to pay for tea refills.

    Tomato Soup

Tasty sandwiches and soup. Nice atmosphere. Open in the fall so lots of pumpkins and gourds. Breakfast sandwich with ham was delicious and the grilled cheese with bacon was very nice. The tomato soup was hot and flavorful. Will be back when we're all n the area.

After hiking in the snow at Ohiopyle all morning with a friend, we decided to get an early dinner here since it had gluten and dairy free options. This place was amazing and is worth going to if in the area! Their lattes are great and the food was delicious! The service was quick the ambiance was great. I really was not expecting this place in ohiopyle since the area is Sialkot just greasy fries and messy burgers but this place was far better and worth the extra drive.

When you walk in, there is a dining area to the right and a coffee shop with pastries to the left. Though we had to wait a bit for a table, we enjoyed looking at the yummy treats in the case as everything looked fabulous. Sunday is brunch so both breakfast and lunch menus were available. My daughter got a burger and Caesar salad, my husband got an omelette, and I got some onion rings and free rein to eat off their plates. Everything was delicious but the onion rings were a standout! It reminded me of a blooming onion in the best way! The strawberry jelly for the toast was also among the best I've ever had, and clearly made in house as it tasted so fresh. Our server was very pleasant but things moved a little slowly and we had to ask multiple times for our side of dressing. I was also shocked to see that a cup of coffee was $5! Overall though, this place was a delight and I wish I would have saved room for dessert.

I said this shop is a little one - more specifically, the interior is small. They have a good number of outdoor seating options, which were not in use at 3:00 on a cool November afternoon. But over the summer, this would absolutely be a great spot to sit down, sip your drink, and either prep for a hike or recover after one. The staff were very nice and welcoming when I stopped in a couple of weekends ago. I ordered a lavender latte and got a couple of cute stickers for good measure. I didn't get any food or snacks, but I did note that there are some nice options here that I'd like to sample in the future! The latte itself was delicious, with the right mix of coffee, milk, and flavoring for me. I then enjoyed my coffee while strolling on one of the easier trails - it was so relaxing and was the perfect way to end my weekend. (Don't worry: my trash made it back to my car and didn't become litter in our beautiful state park!) I would absolutely come here again, and love knowing that there's a cute coffee shop to help kick off or wrap up a nice afternoon on the trails.

We got the signature breakfast sandwich, a turkey sandwich, and a chili hot dog for our brunch. Also you get a 5% discount for paying in cash. In addition to the turkey sandwich ($8.5) we decided to add a drink and side to make it a combo ($13). However, I l was very disappointed at the apple slices which is why docked an extra star. The apple slices were tiny and super soggy. On top of that, I'm not even sure if the fruit was washed. I was hoping the darker color stuff on the surface was a scratch or something, but I was literally scratching dirt off. This felt pretty unsanitary and I kind of lost my appetite. The turkey sandwich was also very small, so probably plan to order more if you need to eat more to get full. It's probably best to skip the side and drink combo and rather order another item off the menu in lieu of the side/drink. To be honest, the sandwich isn't really worth the price for its small size. The signature breakfast sandwich was pretty interesting since instead of bread, they use a glazed donut around the eggs, sausage, and cheese. It's a mix of sweet and salty, so it may or may not suit your tastebuds. The food here was decent but nothing memorable so 3.5/5. I guess I'll round up my overall 2.5/5 rating (after taking into account the dirty apples) though.
