Used to be our Go-To Pizza Place but the last three times from January-June the pizza was cold. They usually have 4-8 pizzas stacked up for pickup and apparently serve you the oldest/coldest one first. They typically deliver uber fast, within 20 min even though the delivery states about 45 to 60 mins - but who's going to complain about that? One delivery did come hours ahead of when specifically requested (ordered about 3 hours ahead for dinner) they were kind enough to redeliver the order (we were not expecting this because we had said it was ok) One delivery driver gave our order to a completely wrong location and the person stated to them that they would call us - they dont know who we are nor do they have our phone number. Heights quickly sent out another order and even though it was not exactly correct, the food is always too good to complain! PS to ALL customers - follow the current rules and guidelines for COVID - dont be like this woman who wore her mask on her chin - it is disrespectful! Called in an order for delivery at 7pm (a medium Margherita pizza). The guy who took my order almost ended the call without even taking my address (I had to remind him). He said it would be 90 minutes... quite a long wait, but fine. It took 2hrs and 15mins to arrive. By that point the pizza wasn't even the slightest bit warm. Also, the sauce was incredibly salty. Horrible delivery service, OK food, good recovery skills. My husband and I ordered online at 6:35 pm. We got the Chicken Francese w/ Linguine, a custom "Deluxe Calzone", bruschetta, and fries. We live 3 - 3.5 miles away. The order said the food should arrive by 7:20. At 7:15 I refreshed the page, and it said 7:59. Annoying, and I braced myself for lower quality due to the 90 minute wait, but at least it updated. At 8:06 I called the restaurant, and the girl who answered told me the driver had left over 10 minutes ago. At 8:27 I called again, and after telling the gentleman who answered about the wait, he put me on "hold" (put the phone down and called from a different one) and called the driver. At 8:33 the driver pulled up, and I hung up from still being on "hold". I could still hear him talking to someone on the other line. The entire order was lukewarm at best. The calzone was flat, undercooked, and only minimally flavorful. The fries were soggy and unseasoned, with the ketchup packets thrown unsanitarily INSIDE the fries container. The chicken francese had separated and was essentially herb-seasoned breast in lemon juice. The linguine was the only good item. Maybe more of it would have been better even remotely hot. I called at 8:40 and complained to the new gentleman who answered the phone. I asked for the manager and he informed me he was the owner. Upon hearing my complaints, he accepted responsibility and offered a refund or credit. While I will certainly never be eating here again, his customer service and maturity earned them an extra star on this review. read more

Our ongoing review of local pizza restaurants puts Heights Pizza in the middle of the pack. Relative to most places, Heights seems to have more variability to its pizza -- sometimes it is great, sometimes its not so good, and average on average. The veggies they use on their pizzas are most often fresh, not frozen, and that's an advantage over other local pizza restaurants located on a corner on the Post Road. There's very limited seating in the Heights restaurant, so its mostly take out and delivery business. On the take out front, note that 4 out of 5 times you will wait in the store for 10-15 minutes beyond the time you were told that the pizza would be ready -- somehow this is true even if you add extra waiting time of your own before showing up! read more

We placed our order at 6:10 and promised delivery was 7:30. 7:45 rolls around and we finally get a call from the delivery guy, they gave him the complete wrong address! No where near where we live! We called and were told the guy was on our road....well guess what? He was not! It took about another 1/2 hour to get to us. We have been going to Heights pizza for many years since Tony "the Albanian guy" was working there. Although their ordering system has many flaws, we ordered pizza from them since the pizza was good. But lately, they have been burning every pizza we ordered to the point of it being inedible. The Grandmas Pie was absolutely delicious. The crust was airy, warm and soft. The sauce was sweet and packed with flavor. Cheese and additional toppings were a delight and not to overloading. Staff was welcoming and you can tell from the view of the kitchen they work as a team well. Only reason, it didn't get a 5 is cause I was slightly mislead based off of the description as I like these style pies with just grated cheese. All and all. We used to be regular customers but have finally had enough with this place. We showed up on Friday for pickup and there were 6 people in front of us, who had also already ordered, their food was ready, and they were only there to pay. How long can that possibly take with 7 people behind the take out counter and a stack of pizzas ready on top of the oven? Only one of the 7 people tripping over each other behind the counter were actually doing something, so you have one person taking orders, directing deliveries, and taking payment from people while the others just got in the way. I stood and watched in amazement as it took them 17 MINUTES to check out 3 of the 6 people in front of me - all they had to do was pay. Not sure if it's lack of direction from management or disorganized management, but it was such an chaotic cluster back there and customers were getting hungry and impatient, with such an easy fix - pay attention and check them out. We stood in line for over half an hour just to pay, behind 6 people who also ONLY HAD TO PAY. I understand the dinner rush, but each of these people needed only a few seconds to pay. By the time we got home, not only was the pizza cold and stale, but it had 3 ants crawling around on it. I was on the fence about leaving a review, but it had to be done after so many bad experiences lately. read more

Recently I saw a post on Next door forums announcing the move and reopening of Heights pizza. So today I went online and was able to order from there, so excited! We've been ordering take out from Heights for the past few years. Although their food is decent, my low review is for their customer service. On almost every occasion they have messed up some part of our order. We've let it go in the past, but tonight was the last straw. Their menu is officially in our garbage. Size and sticker shock. I order a small pizza and the Homemade ravioli. The small pizza is a personal size I don't recall it being that small. Paid $26 insane. Now to the taste the ravioli was well stuffed and had a nice taste as well as the sauce. Didn't seem salty but could of used a bit more sauce. If you like your cheese on top toasty make sure you ask. The pizza it was ok crispy crust but not a lot of flavor and it was a bit dry. Could of been that it was the tiny pizza and not enough room to add more sauce. WORST SERVICE- NEVER AGAIN I called to have a pizza delivered at 8:37pm on 5/14/13 on a Friday night. They took my order said it would take 40m to deliver not to mention that my house is 4 minutes from Hieghts. I notice that the pizza I ordered never came I get a call from my hungry kid at home asking why I never ordered that pizza. They charged my card and didn't even call to say the pizza hadn't been delivered . Not to mention didn't even ask for my phone number when I ordered . It was to late to call back that night so I called this morning and they told me that the driver failed to find my address... I asked why didn't they call . We typically order large pizza with tossed garden salad and it's delicious. We've also ordered various Italian selections and always very happy. From the first time I ordered a medium cheese pie, I knew that the crust itself was good enough to have as a next day snack. I've enjoyed the Darien boat linguini pasta dish, the baked ziti, chicken parm on wedge among others as well as the always reliable thin crust 11" pizza with pepperoncini as the sole topping. This little pizzeria takes care of everyone in my family whenever we're searching for something Italian. Forget Papa's as a comparison by the grossly paper-like cold-arriving PJ's "flavor."
