Large portion sizes for take out orders but the food lacked seasoning. The Baked Ziti Alla Siciliana could have used more eggplant. Sautéed vegetables lacked flavor. Mom's special was average garlic and oil sauce, and could have used more chicken. Our to go order was ready in 20 minutes served hot. Got a pizza with extra garlic but rarely do restaurants put enough garlic even when requesting extra. Pizza was ok, enjoyable enough. Offering fried dough pieces on the menu was very exciting to me. That's usually a treat I only get at the summer street fairs and carnivals. The portion is huge - enough to fill an entire pizza box! Delivery guy super friendly and nice. I'm wondering if the owners are Italian because if they are I know for a fact they wouldn't serve that at their home!! How dare they serve that mess! The bruschetta was hard toasted bread with chopped tomatoes, no seasoning again, disgusting. If you don't know what good Italian food is then don't open an Italian restaurant. My favorite meal from there is the panino tuscany and the blackened chicken caesar. First of all.. the bread for the panino is very thin and fresh and AMAZING. The mozzarella is always fresh as well. This caesar salad is something I've been having as one of my favorite meals since I was a kid. The dressing is unmatched!! Not to mention the incredible prices.. That would likely be because I've been working in South Norwalk for that time, and well, the food options aren't amazing in the area as far as I can tell. However, Norwalk Pizza & Pasta has delivered (literally and figuratively). They have an online ordering system that works decently well and the food is pretty tasty. The pizza is quite good and decently authentic. They also have a fairly large and varied menu, loads of salads and tons of sandwich choices, so it's good for everyone. I am a front line worker coming off a 24-hr call living in a neighboring state... I was post call on Friday 8/14/20 and again on-call fir 24hrs in 8/15/20 and didn't want to make the long trek home so I stayed in a nearby hotel. I said, I am in a hotel where am I to get a fork? I asked to speak to a manager and I was told the same.. I asked "Please has a delivery person bring me a fork.!" They cannot do that... I was irate.. I called them back and told I WOULD RETURN THE SALAD... Then the owner called again with the same story "no forks for dinner"... I EXPLAINED AGAIN for the 4th time I AM IN A HOTEL .. I was told the driver wouldn't know what address he was going to.. I replied... "I didn't give an address ..I gave the name of the hotel and the driver met me in the lobby "- The owner replied "If I give a fork to everyone who orders dinner, I'll be out of business" I said "Ma'am maybe in the future you should have your staff ask if you need cutlery that's all it takes to remedy this whole situation" I said to her "I cannot believe this is happening because of a fork". She finally relented and said "I will bring a fork ". This entire scenario went in for GREATER THAN 1.5 hrs... She brought me a fork and hand it to me with two fingers and said .. Have gotten take-out and delivery from them many times and had I written this review a few years ago they would have rated 5 stars. Unfortunately the last couple meals I've eaten from them have been less then stellar. Both times my salads were crisp, the dressing was delicious and the fresh-baked bread while on the small side was to die for. The bad news is that my spagetti ala Luigi was dry and flavorless, then the next time my Linguini with sausage and hot cherry peppers was short on both sausage & peppers which is not what I've come to expect here. The worst thing however was that the pasta in both meals was so over-cooked it was like eating mush and gave me the impression it had been re-heated multiple times and/or sat around for awhile. If there is a place I can go and file a false advertisement claim, I'll do it!!! I am very upset right now with this place and their management. I always purchased their pizza but this is going to be my last order in this place.
