My wife noticed a slow draining toilet in our basement. I called HEIL Plumbing, our "go to" plumbing company, at 9:00 am and they were able to schedule a plumber to come out the same day. The plumber, Eric, arrived in a timely manner, diagnosed the problem causing the slow draining basement toilet, and gave me an acceptable price quote to correct the problem. I agreed to have Eric do the work. After he was finished, he checked to make sure that everything was "good to go," cleaned up and took my credit card payment. $95 just for someone to come out and "diagnose" the issue, and then I was quoted an absolutely outrageous price to replace a garbage disposal (over $600 with only a 1-year warranty, or more than $900 for a 4-year warranty) I ended up hiring another professional company that replaced the disposal quickly and professionally for $370 total, including a 2-year warranty. The price difference speaks for itself. Be very careful: this company's pricing is extremely inflated. I strongly recommend getting another quote before agreeing to any work. read more

If I could, I'd give 4 stars for the service. Great service. The one star is for the PUNISHINGLY HIGH PRICE Heil charges- I second the other review that says Heil charges twice the price. We bought a water heater separately. AO Smith 500 series with 12 year warranty. I called Heil to ask them how much they charge to install a water heater- ball park range--- how much is labor. They said they can't give that price over the phone. 4 days later, the tech comes out to install. He said it would take him 2 hours to install, and the price would be $1350!!! I asked for an itemization of the costs- how much is labor, how much is parts? He said they just charge a flat rate that covers everything. Keep in mind, we already have the water heater. We just wanted them to connect it. Hubby needed hot water, so I felt held hostage- and paid their $1350 for two hours of labor, a couple of copper pipes and the little blue water reservoir. See pictures. So, if you call Heil to find out how much they charge to install a water heater you buy yourself, and they say they can't tell you over the phone, be forewarned it's a bundled flat rate of $1350. Also, I asked them how much their hourly rate is for other work... $250/hour. That is the HIGHEST PRICE I have ever heard of. We're going back to Millersville Plumbing- they do great work at a much more reasonable price. read more

Tech came out to adjust water pressure and check the shower. $1100.00 later I asked him to leave before he looked at the shower. My wife complained to Heil they sent the guy back out.After he looked at the shower he said he had to turn off the water at the street. He turned off the neighbors water.Told me the shower was fixed.Shame on me I didn't check before he left.The shower water dripped out,the handle was upside down and so tight my grandkids can't turn it. read more

The guy showed up during the time that I requested and was fast and efficient. He came right in, looked at the pipes under the bathroom faucet and fixed it right away. Then I told him I needed new faucets for that sink, and I had intended to buy some before he arrived, but didn't have time. Jonathan had exactly what I wanted and needed in his truck. So he replaced the faucet too. And then I remembered that the toilet in the basement had a problem. He kindly agreed to look at that also, ascertained that it needed a new handle, and replaced the handle with one he had in his truck! I can't believe that I had so many problems fixed in a couple hours! And Jonathan is one of the smartest, kindest, courteous young men I have ever had the pleasure of meeting! My water line broke under my house so I called a plumber I was familiar with, he gave me a pretty high estimate and actually said you should call Heil for a second opinio. I called and they had someone on site in an hour. They gave me an estimate that's was about half what the other plumber wanted and we set a date. They had to tear up the floor and quite a bit outside but when they were done it actually looked better than when they started, the only sign that they had been there was a very small track from the backhoe and some straw where they hooked into the main line. I also expect some added expense added on to the estimate due to "unforeseen problems" but there was none of that. Excellent work and I would recommend them to anyon. read more

After spending an hour looking for plumbers in my area, I decided to reach out to Heil based on their reviews and ratings. I also used the feature on Yelp where you can check a box to have other companies reach out to you. Within 30 minutes, I had about 5-6 plumbers reach out to me, including Heil. When using Yelp, I tend to look for some red flags... If too many positive reviews are very short and generic = fake/paid reviews (?) When looking at negative reviews, I look at the issue and the companies response to those issues. Heil's reviews looked very detailed and genuine. I decided to go with Heil because: it was my first choice from the beginning and they had the earliest availability (i had another place give me an open appointment of 2 weeks out). Heil was able to come out first thing this morning. So glad I decided to go with them. Nick arrived at his promised time. He was very professional and was very thorough in all his explanations. We did a quick walk through and went over all the pricing, which I really appreciated. He was able to repair 2 toilets as well as checking on the other one. Oh, and he took the time to answer my 3435467 questions. As for pricing, I had no idea on what things are supposed to cost. I did a quick google search on cost for specific repairs and Heil seemed very reasonable. I feel that customer service is at an all time low these days, but Heil proved me wrong. I also like supporting local family owned businesses. PS..Don't just go with these other big-named companies that you see on TV all the time. What can I say? I called at 7:20 AM for clogged kitchen sink/disposal. They gave us a two hour window from 10 AM to 12 pm. Called at 8 AM and said they were running ahead of schedule and could they come in at 815 instead. In and out by 930, Took payment over the phone since I wasn't home (my parents were). Sent me an email receipt instantaneously. I have a perfectly functioning drain now. Money well spent! Update on 3/17/20 Hands-down the best plumbing service in the universe.
