    My new water heater installed by Carson Plumbing.

    My water heater leaked on a Memorial Day weekend. Carson Plumbing responded quickly to my request for quote/estimate on Yelp. Paul, the owner, and his assistant came the next day. Paul explained my options - (1) replaced the thermostat box and keep the existing heater or (2) replaced the entire water heater. I opted to replace the entire water heater for a peace of mind since the existing one was already 8 years old. Furthermore, Paul was very thorough in explaining why I need to go from 40 gallons to 30 gallons. Apparently, new regulations require new heaters to have an extra insulation which added 2 inches in diameter and since I have limited space, I went with the 30 gallons instead of paying extra to reconfigure to a new location. To make up for the decrease in capacity, Paul recommended and added a booster, which provided extra capacity of hot water. Paul was great in explaining the mechanics behind how things work. He answered every questions and concerns I had. He even messaged me 2 hours later to check up on the heater. I won't be hesitant to contract Carson Plumbing again. They're extremely professional, reliable, competitively priced and offers quality service.

    Paul was prompt, professional and very competitively priced for my projects. He came up with intuitive plans to extend gas piping in my home to reach the laundry room so we can switch to gas vice electric dryer. He also installed a 50-gallon new gas water heater to replace my 37 year old one! He and his crew were very pleasant and very respectful of our home. I'd hire him again in a heart beat and highly recommend his plumbing services!

Although it was late on Friday, during a time when ALL plumbers were working non-stop on emergencies, Dan answered his phone, calmed me down, helped me turn off the water feed to the house, changed his schedule and came out to my house the following Monday morning, fixed the problems and recommended a great water damage restoration company. So, I am saying that, of course, Dan is an excellent plumber, but he is much more. When I was in trouble plumbing-wise, he dropped what he was doing on a busy day and rescued me.     We hired TNT plumbing to address a leak on a vent pipe that appeared beneath our master bathroom…read more He canceled the first day and charged us $175 (this price includes a $20 discount since he had to cancel). He mentioned they may only be able to do the consultation since they had another job, so from the very start I felt like we were receiving rushed service. Dan and his apprentice spent a little less than an hour knocking holes in our drywall (in one closet he just started hitting the wall with a hammer) only to make his way up to the attic to tell me we had a roof leak. As I had mentioned in my original consultation, this was in fact a vent pipe leak that I would have been happy to pay to have addressed. Instead, we went through two roof consultations before I crawled up in the attic and fixed the vent pipe myself. I tried to reach out to Dan to let him know this was actually a plumbing issue and received no response. We found TNT through one of the Yelp project requests and I deeply regret choosing them as opposed to some of our other options. Between the price paid, the lazy investigation of the pipe, and the lack of response when I reached out to have the situation rectified, I am seriously disappointed with their service.

He inspected the Unit, gave me some maintenance tips and promised to send an estimate for a new system should I decide to get one. I really appreciated the fact that the person I had been communicating with to schedule service was the person who showed up for the service. Waited a while for the company to contact us, and then tried to contact them. No answer. Checked them out online, and they had horrible reviews and a D with the BBB. So we looked for another company. Came across Corporate HVAC reviews. They were all great, so we gave them a call. 3 rings, and we were speaking with Glenn. He said he could be out in 20 minutes. Maybe 15 minutes later, he was at our front door. He fixed our problem and explained what we needed to do to try to prevent it from happening again. Unfortunately we have a unit that's close to dead. Glenn emailed us a no-pressure estimate on replacement, as well as a copy of our invoice. He was super respectful of our home, even taking off his shoes and carrying them around while walking inside. He worked on the inside and outside. We were very impressed with his professionalism and kindness. Glenn also called and texted us later in the night to make sure everything was working. I would highly recommend using this company.

    Saved by Ehrhardt Brothers Quality Plumbing! (West of Baltimore, a.k.a ColumbiaPlumber)…read more Sunday evening, our water felt less hot than usual. Monday, it was only as warm as we keep the house, and only as much water as there is in the pipes! Our gas water-heater failed! Bad timing, too. Last week was what Chicago calls Fools'-Spring ... around 70°. But this week was back to Second-Winter, 30° (Mar 2026). And the next warm days, which Chicago calls the "Spring-of-Deception", is still ten days away. There was water leaking from the heater. This is considered the calm before the 50-gallon tsunami. If this is home-remedy advice, First call a friend who has successfully navigated this problem. Next shut off the gas and then the pilot. Next shut off the water inlet. Your friend will have at least one plumber to recommend. (They will enjoy that...) If your garden hose isn't frozen to the spigot, drain the water tank. If frozen, spend a sleepless night with the 24/7 plumber's number on speed-dial. We chose #2.  We made it through the night. Two of our friend's recommendations were small-businesses, our preference, and we asked all three for quotes and availability. Ehrhardt was ready to offer a price based on our descriptions and photos, of course with caveats for anything unexpected. I considered their bid to be a pretty-penny, but I'll say it was less than our friend's expectation, and more than our friend in Cleveland expected. A fair price. They came the next morning, and it might have been sooner if we had called right away. We cleared a path for them through the house, and they had the water heater replaced in 90min. Impressive. We went out for St. Pat's. But what we should have done was what they told us: check the pilot light for about 30min, and test the hot water after 60 to 90min. We came home to cold water. I'll admit some grumpiness. We called in the morning, and they came back in a jiffy (our apologies to everyone else who had appointments that day). In 30min, they figured it out: a faulty pilot in the new, just-unboxed water heater. They had a replacement part over-nighted. The next morning, in 30min, done. This time we did as told: checked the pilot after 20min (and nervously, an extra time again after that). Still lit! The second time we checked, the hot water outlet was noticeable warm. By 60min, hot water from the faucets! By 90min, much to relief of nearly everyone i know, a piping hot shower. AAAAAHHH :-) Ok, so how does three visits equal 5-stars! The hardest question answered first: Because the problem was the manufacturer's fault, and Ehrhardt handled it flawlessly: Excellent communication by Ehrhardt, priority attention to our problem, no excuses, just fast resolution. Great service staff, from the office to my house. Fair price. I admit that I'm writing this in the after-glow of that hot shower. This could be the start of a beautiful situationship.

    McDevitt & Son's Plumbing services were extremely unprofessional…read more After finishing their job in July 2023 for my salon project. they guaranteed a 1 year warranty for the water pumps that were installed. Within 6 months i had minor leaks and each time I informed Mcdevitt & Sons, they did fix the issue with no charge, which was to be expected given that I have a 1 year warranty. Recently, I had 2 additional minor leaks. Mcdevitt & Sons unexpectedly sent me two invoices. For one, these services regarding the water pumps were supposed to be covered under my 1 year warranty that didn't end yet. Secondly, I was never Informed prior to a tech coming out that I would be charged. I called their billing department and Annmarie was very impolite with her tone and stated that the warranty does not cover "services". Only the "pumps" itself were under warranty. I immediately was upset, given that I've been receiving "services without a charge" for 6 months, now all of a sudden they're charging ? If services weren't apart of the warranty, they should have stated that clearly when they came out the first 3-4 times and offered a free service, in which myself as the client assumed was under warranty. It was a miscommunication on their behalf. I explained to them that I have no problem paying for services for my business, I've been in business for many years and understand that expenses have to be paid. You have to spend money to make money. It's the lack of communication and unprofessionalism that has encouraged me to write this complaint. You don't just spring up charges on a client without informing them, especially if they were under the impression of warranty services. My landlord required for me to use them as my plumber for my salon project, as this was the shopping centers designated plumber for all of the businesses. After my experiences, I had to ask my landlord to allow for me to use my own plumber going forward. Annmarie has agreed to void one of the charges and of course has still kept the highest charge on my balance. As a business owner with morals, I have paid this charge. But going forward, I will never use this company again, nor refer them to anyone else going forward.
