Most beautiful park on the coast. Right next to an awesome beach that is perfect for light waves, pictures and relaxing. It really is the perfect relaxing beach. We took maternity pictures here and we come here here every year for memorial day. Its awesome cause we bbq at the park then head right down to the beach for the fun activities. The beach is pretty secluded and its rare that the beach gets too crowded, probably due to the limited parking. Still we just unload everything at the park, find a spot then walk on down and its a perfect day. read more

Having grown up in a beach town in Orange County, I often take for granted the beauty of the beaches I have grown up around here in this area. Laguna Beach has some of the most picturesque ocean vistas in all of Southern California. Heisler Park stretches for several miles along the Pacific Ocean here in Laguna and has some of the most beautiful views of this beach area that I have seen. I had been to Las Brisas in the past which is near the iconic park on Cliff Drive but it wasn't until Yelp bud, Angie M, invited me out to a pancake breakfast hosted by Laguna Beach Fire, Police and Lifeguard departments a few weeks ago, that I actually visited this incredible park area. On that particular day, it was a cooler, overcast day and still absolutely gorgeous here. I more recently visited, again this past weekend on a sunny second day of fall, and was blown away again by the breathtaking beauty of this park and views. There are several vista point areas along Heisler Park with benches surrounded by palm trees and other greenery where you can sit above Laguna Beach and relax and enjoy the view. There are nice pathways you can walk along along this park. It is the perfect place to practice photography and take some gorgeous shots, too. This past weekend, I was able to walk down a ramp here down from the park and venture onto the beach below to the water. There were a lot of couples and families taking professional photos down by the tide pools and other areas down on this stretch of Laguna Beach as it so picture perfect. There is metered parking along Cliff Dr. that provide up to four hours of parking. Parking is $2.50 an hour and the meters take coins and credit cards. On the weekend, it does get crowded, so my advice is to get here early if you can as there are often groups hosting get togethers here in the bench areas of the park. Heisler Park truly is a must visit when in the area to see the incredible beauty of Laguna Beach. read more

Beautiful park overlooking the Laguna Beach. Great place to picnic and barbecue. Nice restroom, which is unusual for a lot of the beach city's in Los Angeles County (thank goodness Laguna Beach is in Orange Country ) Wonderful place to take a stroller or bring your dog on a leash. However no dogs allowed on the beach itself. Parking can be a little difficult if you don't come early. Lots of parking meters - so bring your quarters. Other parking lots available, but be ready to pay $15.00. Needless to say the best time to come is during the week, it's pretty crowded on weekends and holidays. The high cliffs, tide pools, & rocky shores differentiate the 4 Laguna beaches from most others. Heisler Park is a well-maintained strip along the bluffs that affords scenic views & safe access from Cliffs Drive, as well as picnic tables, grills, lawns, paved paths, restrooms, & stairways down to the beaches with showers @ the bottom. A Veterans Memorial is located on Monument Point in the middle of the park. Dogs are allowed on leash during Winter, but not during Summer. read more

This "park" in front of the beach is utterly beautiful. This is as beautiful as it gets on the California Coast. I'm not sure the scientific reason why, but the water here is a true aqua. It seemed like the water was shallower by the beach and you can see the aquatic life and some of the ocean bottom from the park. The water is a surreal blue-green and you can see the sand being moved by the waves as they crash into the huge rocks on the beach. The water and palm trees and beachfront homes all contribute to the tropical on a vacation feel to this place. It seems a particularly great scenic beach to take visitors (particularly if they want to stay clean) or for photo ops. There are a bunch of artists here with their easels actually painting pictures of the water and coast all along the park walkway. There are also sculptures in the park and picnic tables and even places to bbq. We brought our dog on leash as well and it is a very pet friendly. The only thing we had issues with is parking. There is metered parking but not a lot of it and we were here on the weekend on a beautiful sunny day and after making a few rounds trying to find parking near the park, we ended up having to park in the nearby more residential area and walking the rest of the way. If you are planning on exploring the area further, it might be worthwhile to take the free trolley to Heisler Park. read more

Do you like long walks on the beach? Do you like them even better when you don't get sand in your nostrils and you can ogle an endless procession of cute leashed dogs? If you answered yes to either of the above, you'll want to check out Heisler Park when you're in Laguna Beach. My husband and I spent a weekend in town, and we spent an idyllic afternoon hour walking up and down Heisler Park--we found a metered parking spot at one end and did a leisurely loop. It was a gorgeous park, well maintained and right at the ocean. The views were wonderful, and the park was peaceful and lovely, even with heavy foot traffic. We also appreciated the many dogs we met on our walk. I'm sure our basset hounds would have enjoyed it, too, had we invited them on our weekend getaway. I love where we live, but I have to admit, we don't have anything quite like this in central Los Angeles. If I lived in Laguna, I'd take full advantage of this park, for oceanside walks and picnics and doggy socializing. I look forward to visiting again next time I'm in the area. read more

What a beautiful park! My family and I needed some place to eat lunch so my brother suggested here. There were benches and picnic tables everywhere. The park is filled with beautiful landscape and sculptures. I even saw a section for an ampatheatre. There was an amazing view of the beach from the park as well. We found steps down to rocks where we got great photos of the water and the beach. Note, the steps will be closed if the tide is too high! I saw a ton of runners so the park is great for those who want to exercise. The park is extremely clean and there are trash bins everywhere. read more

Dog friendly! Normally I rate locations based on "hikeability", but I'm giving this place a pass just because its so damn beautiful. Don't expect to get any exercise here other than dog walking or running, but you can run up an down stairs (there are several spots with stairs). If you need wheelchair accessible there are sidewalks closer to the street (you can still see the ocean, just won't be able to be as close). Parking is metered though, so lost a star for that. $2.50/hr accepts cards, 25 cent or $1 coins. We went on a Monday morning (9:30amish) and there was plenty of metered parking available on Cliff Dr. The walking paths are very beautiful, right along the coastline. We put about an hour into the parking meter and was able to see everything -(this coming from a dog walker point of view, walking at good pace, occasionally taking pictures) This is a perfect summer destination, and reminds me of why so cal can be so great. read more

Beautiful park right along the ocean in scenic Laguna Beach. Well maintained walking path with lots of benches around it to sit and enjoy the view of the Pacific Ocean. At several places, stairs down for beach access (but do be careful and watch for tide coming in so you don't get trapped down there). A few sculptures on display along the walking path. Absolutely gorgeous. You need to see it and walk it to appreciate how pretty it is. Parking is going to be a problem during summer months as there is street parking with meters so if you want to spend a lot of time there, you might want to see if there are some lots offering paid parking. We were there on an early Monday morning and found street parking very easily. Easy access too to walking down to the shops in Laguna Beach with a variety of restaurants. read more

I went to Heisler Park for the first time with my sister on a weekday. This place is super gorgeous!! I love the scenic views and I love how breathtaking the water looked. I can see why this place has so many good ratings! Me and my sister walked around the beach area and took some photos. It wasn't too crowded at the time so we were able to find parking. Its also a nice place just to relax your mind for a bit. It's very quiet and peaceful. Also what I really loved is the drive to Heisler Park. While we were driving, we were going away from the city and we were just driving through greenery and nature - very beautiful. It was nice to get away from the city life for a bit and just relax. - Locale Destination - It's on Cliff Dr and N Coast Hwy (PCH turns into Coast Hwy from NB to south) in Laguna Beach. There're a few stairs that take you down to the beach, which is cool, despite of the fact that this beach is pretty tiny. It's secluded, though it's pretty close to the main "Laguna Beach". There is a bathroom, shower, and seating area above the beach. Parking around here is tough. Main "Laguna Beach" side is worse than this. You might be able to find a spot in the residential area if you were lucky. Metered parking around the stairs on Cliff Dr - $2.25/hour, cash or credit card, max 4 hours. Car pool if you had a big party to avoid the hussle to find the spot! Water here is pretty clear in light blue/green. Great for chilling with family/friend and scuba diving, not so much of surfing. First time I came here was for scuba diving. You park at the residential area and enjoy diving right here! It's kinda crazy/awesome, isn't it? I have a PADI (scuba diving) license, brought all the equipment and enjoyed the clear & warm water with full of marine creature right by the sand unexpectedly!! The water in Huntington beach and Newport aren't clear like this. If you dive in Hawaii or so, you need to take a boat and go far away for the spot. Not here. In no time, you'll see bunch of fish, lobster, sea urchin (I was thinking what a gorgeous "sushi" place ;p) etc. Incredible!! - Gluttony Expedition - - It's awesome for scuba diving. - It's a lot less crowded and clearer water than the main "Laguna Beach". - You can climb up the cliff started from the right side of the park to enjoy watching the tide pools with lots of sea creatures. Just wear sandals or something for your safety. - You'll enjoy the main "Laguna Beach" side view if you go all the way to the left side of this park. Not just the beach - the residential area above the beach (See my pics). Very cool. - It's small and narrow beach, so you can't enjoy the beach volleyball, but good to chill, swim, and scuba. - Great to take pictures feeling nature and California! - Conqueror's Deduction - We, SoCal residents, are so fortunate to access to such a beautiful beach in a second. This is just a one of them, but this beach and its water are one of the better ones for sure. Love that this park is dog friendly!! :) My husband and I came to Laguna Beach one weekend and brought our dog with us. It was a little difficult to find dog friendly parks in the area so we were really happy to find this one! It has a really nice scenic walking path with gorgeous views of the ocean!! Also lots of patches of grass as well as picnic tables and bathrooms. There's even a gazebo with a viewpoint, great for photo ops! A walk along the beautiful coast of Laguna Beach is a must and Heisler Park presents the perfect opportunity to do that. With a series of coves and lookout areas the walk provides the eyes with continuous images that will linger for a long time. Along the walk are access points with stairs down to the cove beaches to enjoy the tide pools, sun yourself or just to walk in the sand. Benches along the walk provide a place to sit and absorb the beauty and enjoy the sunset, green areas to spread out a blanket and enjoy a picnic, and pieces of art to enjoy are along the walk. One of the most important things to do is obey the traffic signs that are places along the walk! OK, the parking is a mess with only limited metered parking along Cliff Drive or PCH. You can access Heisler Park from Main Beach and if you walk a longer walk park in the main parking structures in down town Laguna. So if you are visiting the area or a local resident like I am, do not miss this walk and if like me lucky enough to live a short drive away go often. read more

You can enjoy the nice scenery, take a walk along the beach, chill out at the park, etc. There's plenty of meter parking and they take coins and card. Was looking for a nice park with easy parking and easy beach access to take my Mom on a picnic and this place fit the bill perfectly. You can see a little chunk of this small park from PCH but you'll have to pay attention because you need to turn into the residential area from PCH to get here. I could see parking being tricky here during the height of summer, but we got lucky and snagged a metered spot right in front of the park around 1pm on a Saturday. Meters are $2.25/hour and only take quarters and dollar coins or credit/debit. The park itself isn't huge, but it was big enough that there were four different groups having picnics and we all had plenty of space. That's the main part of the park...if you go down the path to the left, there is another picnic area tucked in with several picnic tables. To the right, the path leads to steps down to the beach and tide pools. There is also a bocci ball lawn fenced in adjacent to the park. The park was very clean and had a spectacular view of the beach below. After we ate, we headed down to the cove and wandered around before heading out. Seriously perfect spot and I'm so glad I found it. read more

This is where we have most of our bbq's. Our favorite picnic spot is nice and secluded. The one caveat is that you have to show up early to claim your spot. The honey and I always get appointed to show up at the buttcrack of dawn to grab the spot. I can't really complain though since I often nap in the car =X . Oh and that and the area is usually occupied by transients at night who leave their unmentionable belongings lying around. We literally have to wrap the tables and benches. That aside, heisler is a wonderful place to spend the day. The tidepools are always a treat for kids (and adults), the beach is not as crowded as more popular beaches, and parking isn't horrendous (with some patience). Love heisler park, and I know I'll find myself here more than a handful of times every year. read more

I would give this place 25 stars if I could! This is one of my favorite places in the entire world. I'm not just saying that. WOW. What a peace of heaven. I have been here maybe 8-10 times and each time I leave more relaxed and in awe of nature. Come at Sunset for a treat of watching the sun go down over the beautiful cliffs.... Come in the morning for the gorgeous clouds. The walking path is easy and good for people of all ages and abilities. You can walk down a flight of stairs to the beach below. Bring your camera! Flowers, hummingbirds, beautiful vistas.... Definitely on my list of Laguna Beach must see places. Parking is metered on the street and I have never had a problem finding a spot. One block over from Highway One which has tons of shopping and good restaurants. read more

Another rare find in Laguna Beach! I found this place on yelp.com and convinced my husband to come here for a morning stroll. We're so glad we did! We found metered parking and proceeded to walk south along the path -- the views of the ocean were gorgeous and we took multiple photos. I wish I had known about this place sooner! :) We even went down a set of stairs to the beach, where we wandered over to some awesome tidepools with ocean creatures in the pools (we saw hermit crab, crab, sea anemones, snails, etc.)!! We had to climb some big rocks and cross through a stream of ocean water to get to the tide pools (they were closer to the ocean/away from the beach) in order to see more ocean animals! :) Well worth it -- you'll definitely get your feet wet though, so we recommend wearing sandals or beach shoes. We felt as though we were in Hawaii again, especially with the gorgeous views & some spots where the ocean water was crystal blue! :) Would love to come visit again sometime soon! read more
