Every penny counts... At the price of gas I've never seen Hele get more crowded than the usual Costco as they do offer Kama'aina the deals when you use their app and pay with cash. I was told that this Vineyard location was well priced and after done with my errands close by decided to give them a peek and was surprised to see that it was $5.39 and for sure went in to top my tank off. Once I approached the pump was disappointed to see that it was actually $5.49 a huge difference and that I didn't have much cash on hand didn't want to pay that price and left disappointed. Though if you used the app it does bring it down to $5.24 but it had to be with cash and it just wasn't worth it for me personally and left disappointed. This corner location is quite busy and that many have done the math to work it into their budget and with places like this thankfully we're still able to get on with our day. Thank you! read more

"What's the catch?" I'm not exactly sure why, but the Hele Gas Station/Convenience Store on Vineyard Boulevard and Palama Street has, for the last two weeks, been selling regular, unleaded gasoline for $3.899/gal. and $3.799/gal. with Hele Kamaaina Card and payment in cash. There are 12 fuel pumping stations selling regular unleaded gas at this Hele. With that sald, all the Plus and Premium pumps are out of order. You can only buy regular unleaded and diesel at this Hele, for now. For your information, the Hele on South King, a block before Straub Hospital and the Hele on South King just past Kalakaua Avenue sells regular unleaded for $4.599/gal. The Cosmo Yajima Service Station on South King and Keeaumoku sells regular unleaded for $4.599/gal. The Shell on Beretania and Keeaumoku sells regular unleaded for $4.599/gal. The Texaco on Beretania and Keeaumoku sells regular unleaded for $4.599/gal. The difference in cost and savings between buying regular unleaded at this Hele and the Cosmo Yajima Service Station, the Shell, Texaco and the two other Hele Gas Station/Convenient Stores is $4.60/gal. - $3.90/gal. = $.70/gal. and $4.60/gal. - $3.80/gal. = $.80/gal with Hele Kamaaina Card and paying in cash. So this morning, I buy 8 gallons of regular unleaded, using my Hele Kamaaina Card and pay in cash = $3.80/gal.; which is $.80/gal. X 8 gallons = $5.60 savings at this Hele. I then go to the Safeway on Beretania and used $5.21 of my $5.60 savings and buy a $5.00, All American Footlong Sandwich. It's like me getting my All-American footlong sandwich for FREE, because I bought 8 gallons of regular unleaded at this Hele .... right?? My GF has a Toyota 4-Runner and I told her: "Honey! You should "Hele on Down" (Insert smiley face emoji here) and take advantage of the $3.80/gal. regular unleaded gas at the Hele on Vineyard and top off your tank because regular unleaded is $4.60/gal. everywhere else. Your 4-Runner takes 15 gallons of regular unleaded so this will be a pretty big savings. 15 gallons X $.80/gal. equals a $12.00 savings. You can than buy an 18" pizza, a hot dog and drink at Costco with your $12.00 gas saving. It's like getting an 18" pizza, a hot dog and drink FREE!!, when you fill up at this Hele." GF: "Wow! What a great idea and deal honey! I got something to do now. Can you take my keys, fill up my tank and go down to Costco and get an 18" pepperoni pizza, hot dog and a Diet Coke for me?" (Insert sly, salivating face emoji here) Me: "Why sure honey. I'll be right back." I drive her 4-Runner to the Hele and fill up her tank. Sure enough, 15 gallons X $3.80 = $57.00 which would have been $69.00 at the other Hele's, the Shell, Texaco and Cosmo. $69.00 - $57.00 = $12.00 savings. I then drive to the Costco in Iwilei and pickup her pepperoni pizza, hot dog and Diet Coke and head to her place. Me: "Honey! ..... Honey! I'm here!" GF: "Yawn .... Back already! I was taking a nap! ....Yawn!" Me: "Huuh!! Here's your keys, the 18" pepperoni pizza, hot dog and drink. The gas was $57.00 and the pizza, hot dog and drink came out to $12.03." GF: "Yawn! Gee thanks honey. You're the best! Let's eat!" (Insert happy face emoji here) Me: Five minutes later ....... Foot tap tap tap tap tapping!!!!! "Women are very cunning!!" (Insert crying face emoji here) P.S. The savings for the gas was $.80/gal. at this Hele and a fantastic deal. But from my perspective, the 18" pizza, hot dog and drink ended up being a $69.03 out of pocket cost to me. This gas station is conveniently located off the freeway exit. There's a lot of space available. They also have vacuum and air pump that takes quarters. If you want to grab a quick bit they have snack stuff like musubi, chips, ice cream, hotdog, and drinks. Staff is friendly and service is good. read more

Not actually a 24 hour location. The workers close the store randomly at whatever time they want while still getting paid. Falsely advertising the hours your open Is ridiculous. If they do decide to open you can only get has and cigs. can't grab any food items at all. read more

Pretty good price for gas if you have a Hele card (maybe you can get one inside?). A good selection of gas store food. There is a coin vac ($1.50 in quarters) but it was really weak. Also there wasn't much water in the windshield squeegee bins. Maybe this is an end of shift thing? The cashier was nice and gave me gas change in quarters so I could try the vac. read more

Just stopped by to fill up gas and noticed the new business name. Par Pacific Holdings has acquired Tesoro and 76 and has rebranded as "Hele", which means "to go" in Hawaiian. Previously Tesoro, this gas station of 12 gas pump dispensers has a new look.. Very bright and clean, Hele, just like other gas stations, offers you a better rate if you decide to pay via cash over plastic. Major credit cards accepted here. At the Ewa side for a nominal fee you'll find an air pump for your tires and a vacuum to clean your car. On the Makai side is a large convenience store. With this acquisition you'll be seeing more of Hele around. read more

This gas station is the cheapest, if you don't count the ones that require membership, and the most convenient. This station is located on the corner of Palama and Vineyard. You can turn in from either street. It is easily accessible from the freeway and to get onto the freeway. Coming from the west, you just take the Vineyard off-ramp, and take a left at the Palama St. off-ramp from the east. Getting onto the freeway is extremely easy with the westbound Vineyard on-ramp a left turn at the intersection, and the eastbound Liliha on-ramp is just a block down after a left turn from Vineyard. At most Hele has stations, it accepts Kama'aina Rewards cards, if you don't have one, get one! You get points, which you accumulate and can be used as cash on your next purchase, and the best part is you get 15 cents off per gallon on the weekends. I always try to plan my drives so my gas tank is near empty on the weekends. :p It's a great discount. Hele always has a cash discount. Right now, it is 10 cents off per gallon if you pay in cash. That give me more discount than if I used credit card with 5% cash back. Not too long ago it was only 6-7 cents, which didn't give me the better deal. Overall, this is a great gas station to come to. It's easy to get in and out, and extremely convenient. The area is very spacious to maneuver around cars. There are 12 pumps, so there's never a wait. The staff inside the store are friendly and courteous. Lastly, it's one of the cheapest gas stations on the island. The only ones I've seen that are close is the Kapahulu and the Ewa Beach Hele. read more

During this pandemic and now slowly the economy is coming back including theaters I wanted to get somebody for hes birthday movie tickets. Not all movie theaters are open yet for purchasing tickets only food stuff at certain theaters by take out style. Well thanks to my brother who pass by the Hele gas station and told me that they sell tickets for movies. I was so happy so I decided to go and when I got there the mgr said yes we sell movie tickets but limit to 5 tickets but for me I can order 6. Not really paying to much attention i thought it was a gift card and you can make your own Amount you wanted but out turned out to be tickets just for a free admission to enter and not gift card where you can use for admission and as well for the concession bar. So I decided to get it anyway. I guess free admission to the movies is better than paying. But I wish the theater would open soon to buy gift cards for their theater instead if paper tickets only for free admission read more

I drove up to number 10 and parked a bit more forward so that the rear of my car was closer to the gas pumps. I walked into the convenience store and waited in line for my turn. Musubi, bentos, hotdog, chips, soda, donuts are just some of the items I've noticed. The hard boiled eggs sitting on packages of salt and peppers was tempting as I'm an egghead. But I had to resist. I'm here for gas, and only gas. Nothing more. The person in front of me finished up his payment and left. It was my turn. I handed my $30 to the cashier and before I could speak she said, "$30 on 10?". I caught myself in the moment of surprise and replied, "yes please". I knew that she knew I was coming today. But how? Was she a wizard? Was she a prophet? Or maybe she knew I was a Kama'Aina card member. Everyone knows that Hele have Kama'aina discounts on the weekends. 15 cents discount per gallon on Saturday and Sundays only. How could I resist? Hawai'i not cheap. Paradise is expensive. She punched in my dollar gas amount and said, "please slide your Kama'aina card". I slid the card through the card reader and watched with excitement as my 15 cents discount gets approved. She then asked if I wanted a receipt. I replied "no need", like a man saving trees. I walked back to my car, opened its fuel cap, then lifted and put the gas pump right into it. I was then required to select a gas number. I chose 87, as that's the only gas level my life can afford. It's true, my cheap car has never tasted premium gas, and she probably never will. I watched the gallon and dollar amounts go up as 1 refilled my gas tank. At the same time I thought about my bank account and how it was already down $30. I looked at my car and thought to myself, "why can't I just bike to work? Why am I so lazy?" Then I remembered I'm a fat ass. Ain't nobody got time to bike in the morning. I rather sleep more and drive, than to wake up early and bike. Biking is slower. I didn't chose the fat life. The fat life chose me. The gas flowed through the pump as the dollar amount went up on the machine. Then it slowed down after $29 as it neared $30. It happens every time. It's this very moment of ever refill that I suddenly feel cheated on like a dog eating my food when he has his own food. The pumps dont slow down when I pay too much. So I don't see why it slows down when I pay just enough. Is it because I'm not a premium gas man? The flow is just not the full speed flow as it was $28.99 dollars ago. But I never complained. Staff always friendly, helpful, but today employee Sonia made my year. I was waiting to pay cash for my gasoline because of the discount with our free Hele card, and in front of me a little girl, not more than 5-6 years old had $2.00 trying to pay for a couple containers of milk and a couple cookies, total over $6.00. Sonia called over another staff person to watch as Sonia took out money from her own wallet, making up the difference for the milk and cookies and the little girl went on her way. Rebranded and right by my school makes this a convenient gas station to stop by whenever my tank is running low. Plus, they're cheaper than most gas stations in Honolulu! Besides having several pumps, they have a convenience store sort of like 7-Eleven. You can buy your gas here if you don't have a credit card too. Refreshments can be purchased along with food, alcohol and a lot of other things like energy drinks or headache medicine. Parking is alright with a handful of stalls or so right in front. Not too sure if they have restrooms available for a pit stop. Stop by for sure if you're in need of gas. read more
