I press the service button, I stand in front of the window, I even say "hello," and she still takes her time like she doesn't notice anyone waiting. The first couple times I brushed it off, but it's become a consistent experience. When I finally mentioned the delay today, she told me the button "doesn't work" -- but even without the button, it's hard to believe she can't see or hear someone standing right in front of the window. I don't expect instant service, but a simple acknowledgement or timely assistance goes a long way, especially in the morning when people are trying to get to work. The customer service here really needs improvement.

It was under construction earlier this year and think they dropped in new tanks and pumps. What they needed was to redesign the parking lot, which sits on the corner of an intersection. Granted, can't do much about the traffic flow, but when cars enter from both directions and face each other, sometimes you can get stuck - not enough room to back out. I don't know if there's high flow capacity pumps, but the ones they did install seem slower than other gas stations. They would have been useful here. The staff are friendly, but they need more people, particularly in the early morning. Everyone stops by on their morning commute and there's always a long line. Folks are trying the best they do, with a smile, but only two people? If you live near Aiea Heights or Halawa, it's convenient. I try to avoid this gas station though and visiting after the renovation will only be if I need to.

Used yelp to find a car wash nearby and this was the closest and had decent reviews. Every other place I was able to find was for detailing. This was perfect. I was expecting higher prices as the images from yelp were a little old, but they were the same prices as a few years ago which I appreciated. Their highest price is $20 which includes a foam bath, presoak, lava bath, undercarriage blast, conditioner, ceramic protector, special shield, water rinse and blow dry. I will say it got my car about 95% of the way there. There were still some minimal bird poop spots but a significant difference to what I had. The place is easy to operate, you pull up, pay the machine, pull into the car wash and park and that's it. The machine does the rest. The car isn't fully dried once you leave but that's okay. If you have kids, they'll like the different color bubbles during the wash.

The Shoppette side of the house is okay, but the gas station is another story!…read more Their pumps do not allow you to select the grade of fuel you need. If you want a certain grade of gas, you have to go to that pump. If you want the pump to be on the proper side of your car, that narrows your choice of line to wait in down to one. One or more of their pumps are often out of order, that makes the wait even longer. And this one is not really AAFES fault, but kind of it is; selfish customers often pump their gas then go indoors to shop while they leave their car at the pump! Come on people, you are not kings and queens. Get with the program. Show a little respect for your fellow man! AAFES, you need to at least try to police this! My last and biggest complaint about the AMR Shoppette Gas Station is the receipt printers on the pumps have been broken for YEARS! I've been filling up there for 10 years. I bet the pump hasn't successfully printed my receipt a half-a-dozen times in all those years! "Why do I go there?" you ask. Because us military ID card holders save a few cents per gallon by buying our gas on-base and the AMR Gas Station is the closest one to my home.

One pump ran my debit as credit needing a zipcode and the other ran my debit as debit needing a pin. It was a weird fiasco and we did this using 3 of the 8 pumps available. Gas tanks not sold here, try Longs or Safeway. Relatively clean and no litter in the station.
