I called twice this afternoon trying to make an OB/GYN appointment for my annual women's wellness exam. They refused to see me without a "prior authorization." I then called my PCP twice, and they informed me that there is simply no "prior authorization" for this type of OB/GYN visit in their system. I then confirmed this with my insurance company, and they also verified that no prior authorization can be issued for this type of care. I clearly explained this to the doctor's office, but they still require something that either does not exist or cannot be obtained. I reported this provider to my insurance company so they can investigate why this doctor's office is not complying with the contract they signed with the insurance company. read more

I had some menopause issues and was referred by my PCP in 2023. Dr. Luong was very knowledgeable and guided me through that so very well and monitored me closely. Eventually I had to have a total hysterectomy this past April and she was able to do it the least invasive and explain to me the entire process. Dr. Luong was recommended to us from my PCP. My wife has had positive experiences with her and she comes across as caring and competent. She answers all my wife's questions without ever making her feel rushed. They utilize an email portal in which you can communicate with her (questions/concerns) which my wife loves. Her office staff is friendly too but occasionally needs to be reminded about certain things. Wait time can be an issue - one time we waited for more than an hour past our appt time but later found out Dr. Luong had a medical emergency she had to tend to. We should remember doctors are on call and emergencies get priority. Overall, our experience with Dr. Luong has been good and we would recommend her (and her partner, Dr. Hong) to anyone. read more

If you are on a time crunch or value your time, this is not the place to go. I've set an appointment here three times and every time I've waited for 1.5 hours before I could see Dr. Luong. The staff does not have a sense of urgency and are passive. This place comes across as disorganized and do not provide clear communication to their clients. I was under the impression the office opens at 8am since it says it on their Yelp profile. They actually start at 8:30am, but even still I wasn't able to get a hold of anyone on the phone until 9am to set up an appointment. If you don't mind waiting a long time to meet Dr. Luong, when you get to meet her, she is actually really nice, professional, and will answer any questions you have. Such a pleasant experience. Dr Luong was our MD for our newborn baby. Every appointment was a pleasant experience. Such a nice and caring doctor. Answered all our questions... sometimes asked a little too much but doctor was always patient and gets back to you on portal. St Joseph network doctor. People on here complaining about appointment being a little late... it's covid time... one doctor and a bunch of patients... be patient sometimes emergency situations happen and doctor has to prioritize the emergencies. read more

I took my 81 year old mother twice for an appointment with Dr. Luong. It took an hour the first time and 55 minutes today before seeing Dr. Luong, which she spent 2 minutes. They schedule multiple appointments at the same time. My mom is not very mobile and has a difficult time sitting for long periods of time in the small crowded waiting room. This is not good patient care. Dr. Luong and the staff were kind, but may want to consider changing their scheduling procedure. read more

You will easily wait an hour past your Appt time. I had to have my IUD surgically removed by Dr. Luong and she was late for my surgery even though it was first thing in the morning. She didn't talk to me before the surgery or tell me how it went after. She refused to prescribe pain medication for my recovery. In regular pap/checkup appts she invited the receptionists into the room to "look" as she had the speculum in without asking my permission. Worst obgyn. I lost two babies due to lack of care.. I only kept her as my obgyn since she knew my medical history and my first still birth at wk 16 was during I was seeing her. My second premature birth at wk 20 would've had a very different outcome only if I changed doctors... I'm very very regretful I didn't do that. Please find yourself another obgyn to get proper care during your pregnancy. read more

The staffs are nice but I agree with the comments here that I didnt feel the urgency at this clinic. In every single appointment I had at this clinic, I had to wait 1.5-2hrs, ALWAYS. I would be lucky if I only waited 1-1.5hrs. You would wait an hour in the lobby and another 20mins or so once in the examination room only to be seen by Dr Luong for 5mins. Being pregnant the first time I had so many questions I wanted to ask but every time Dr Luong comes in, I always feel rushed that I dont feel comfortably asking questions anymore. I read the reviews before going to this clinic but I thought people were just exaggerating, apparently not. I've been there twice now with my girlfriend and both times we've waited over an hour. The second visit the actual time spent in the room after waiting about an hour and 20 minutes was a total of 5 minutes with the doctor. We're very fed up with this place. Do not come here, do not choose her as your ob. Coming in 15 min early to my schedule appointment just to be waiting for another 30mins to get in. After getting in I sat in the room for the Dr for another 20mins when I can hear her outside talking to her staff about what to eat for lunch! Five days later I called her office ( its true they don't pick up there phone, they just let it ring until you call back again) the staff tells me dr luong doesn't send out Auth until the end of the week. Wtf. So I saw her Monday and have to wait until Friday JUST TO have her office send out Auth for their patients? Then why lied to me about sending it out when I saw her on Monday?. I was furious. Their work ethic is horrible. Mind you, Dr luong is very busy person. So if you ever want to get in contact with her. Don't bother calling! Having a terrible first time with another OBGYN, I was very weary of any subsequent physicians. To my relief, Dr. Luong is great, knowledgeable, and professional. She made a very difficult time for me alot easier, and helped my procedure achieve best outcomes. There are no frills and fluff here, but there is confidence in knowing that you are in good hands. I would definitely advise to come equipped with questions. Be active participants in your care and you will get out of it much more. Dr. Luong, like many other physicians are whizzing one care to the next and may not be able to cover all questions unprompted. As far as the wait, it is not so bad, the maximum time I wait is 30 minutes max. However, Dr. Luong does see alot of patients and I feel safe in knowing that she has loyal following. Making an appointment is tough though, since she is always booked up so quickly. But that simply is not enough for me to knock a great doc for being a great doc. Highly recommend! read more

I had my first appt with Dr. Luong this past week, I haven't been to an OB in forever due to COVID and lapse from my insurance. Arriving the front desk girls are nice and professional, it only took maybe 10 minutes after filling out paperwork to be called back. The girl who took my vitals had an off putting attitude but overall nothing to be concerned over. Once put in a room Dr. Luong came in and we discussed my concerns, she let me explain everything and we went forward with a vaginal exam. Dr Helen Luong was very knowledgeable and informative with me. I had a procedure done here and she was a little rough, I mean it wasn't painful, but a little uncomfortable. Aside from that though, she freely gives information, things she thinks would be helpful (and they are) or things that you don't even think to ask. This is why I actually rate her 4 stars. So what brings the rating down? Her office staff. They rarely pick up the phone, even during their offices hours. I don't understand at all. They let it go to voicemail...and I've left a message asking for a return call, and they don't return my calls. Wow. Sometimes I'm lucky and I get someone who picks up and that someone who picks up is nice, but most times, I don't get anyone picking up. OK so they have a health portal which would seem to be more convenient, right? Well, I requested an appointment through that and nothing, no follow-up emails/calls nothing. Dr. Hong delivered my first baby, 8 years later it's Dr. Luong that's gonna deliver my second baby. Both are very pleasant. I chose these drs myself, the first time I walked in, I walked in blind folded but felt at ease right away. I will admit the wait time is horrible, be prepared to be waiting for an hour and a half at first. After the first 2 visits I wait for the dr 15-20 min tops and in between that time im giving a urine sample and getting my vitals checked so it feels like im in and out. Both drs know what they are talking about and will answer any and all questions. I walk out with ease after every check up. read more

Just called to see if they take new patient and the receptionist said yes. And tried to make an appointment asap for pap smear!! Once i gave the insurance to the lady said no we dont take this insurance for new patient! Wth?? You just said ok! This doctor was terrible. I sat in her office for 1 hour and 30 minutes. She came in didn't listen or care to any of my concerns and brushed me off like I didn't matter. On top of that, she did an ultrasound with gel all over my stomach, then had me sit up with it all still on, didn't give me anything to wipe it off with. She has no bedside manner and thinks she's gods gift to this earth. Her opinion is the only one that matters, and if you don't what she wants she treats you like shit.
