I know we always have that craving for a donut and Chinese food and are always bummed to find out that no place exists where those two cuisines exist....or is there? Yes folks, it exists! I definitely chuckled when I saw this place offered both Chinese food and donuts. I did not stop for any Chinese food, but it did look really good and I saw a lot of content customers. Their donuts though are really good! To begin, best buttermilk to date. Really hard to describe what sets this donut apart from the rest, but you just need to go try. This buttermilk managed to be a extremely dense, but sit lightly when you ate it...weird, I know. But they managed to decieve me by creating a very protective outer part of a donut that housed a sweet cake interior. I wish that the inside of this donut could be my next birthday cake. Too good to be true. Also, this place nailed their apple fritters. No burnt edges, crispy exterior, moist cinnamony, apple filled interior, and they glazed the bottom! Hell yea man! It was also noted that they added cinnamon to the apples before adding them to the fritter batter. This added more cinnamon and created an even greater fritter. Last, but certainly not least, their glazed. It is hard to screw this guy up, but this was comparable to eating a cloud. No joke. It was a great medium of being light, but holding just enough rigidity so that it did not become totally crushed after you bit into it. No balance of sweetness in here. This one was just plain sugary sweet baby! Ample amount of glaze that makes this a taste bomb all up in yo' mouth! My job here is done. Go check this place out. Thee sign SAID they were closed for "remodel". I've been keeping an eye on it. I don't see any steam tables inside, so I don't think there will be any Chinese anymore. That was my whole reason for going there!!!!! Last week I came by and the sign had been changed to "Hello Donuts" and no more "Donut Star" or "Star Wok Express". It looks like it wasn't just a remodel (I hate to see it close and that is the ONLY reason for a 1 star). It would be a 5 star, if not for that change. I felt the sign was kind of misleading because it didn't say that "Donut Star is gone". I really enjoyed going there to eat some Chinese and watch the traffic outside. I'll check it out after the place reopens...but, if no Chinese, forget it, that will pretty much be a deal breaker for me. I might go there maybe once or twice every few years for a cup of coffee...but, realistically? I rather doubt it...it will be too much of a reminder of "what it used to be". Used to come here all the time for Chinese food. They have this deal where you get either fried rice or chow mein with 2 sides and a soda for around 5-6 dollars I can't remember. But you have to get there before 5 i believe. The food here is better than many other places like this that I've tried. And the fact that it is also a donut shop. MY GOD. Rude owner, or who ever the person who runs the place is. We stopped by at this place around 1am. Walked and in there was nobody to be seen. We called out to see if anyone was in the back but no response. Waited in there for 5 long minutes and that's it. Once we walked out and got into our cars, the guy finally came out. Wow, really?! Great place for a quick coffee and donut! Stopped by in the morning before work to satisfy the donut craving that I was having. Place is a little strange, apparently they serve Chinese food there too, in addition to the donuts and coffee. For three bucks I got 2 Maple bars and a coffee. donuts? chinese food? what? heck yah! we came here for the chinese food cuz we heard it was good, the food itself is pretty good, better than sam woo bbq, service is great, the ladies there really nice and dont jip you on the scoop like panda cheapspress. when you get your food its a hefty amount, it doesn't feel like someone already ate half of your box. after you eat your food, the left over amount you take home is even more thant he amount other places like panda gives you. then after your chinese food you can have some donuts...Mmmm, who can say no to that? the only reason they don't get a full 5 stars is the people that hang out in the parking lot, some are nice but the aggressive ones aren't so great. read more

I drove by this place so many times. Every once in a while I get a craving for a Donut so I decided to give this place a try since its right around the corner from my job. Donuts are very fresh and the Coffee was very tasty and fresh as well. I mean really it looked like any other Donut shop but once you go inside you see that they have a full food layout. I went back a few times and ate the chine's food. Was very surprised how fresh and good the food was and the servings are HUGE! Very good price for the amount of food and the quality of food. This isn't the place to go if you want a luxurious donut but it is the place to go if you are nearby and want a quick sweet treat. I had low blood sugar, so I stopped by here to get a muffin and I thought it tasted pretty good. It was only $1.65 which is cheaper than many donut shops and it tasted good. It raised my blood sugar in no time. I would not travel across Orange County to come here, but if I lived or worked nearby I would visit this store from time to time to satisfy sugar cravings. read more

Me and my family would come to this establishment from time to time to get some donuts and Chinese food and it used to be decent. We just stopped to get some Chinese food for dinner and thought about getting some donuts for the morning. Well we started ordering and I asked for beef broccoli and noticed I got a lot of broccoli and two small pieces of beef. In my mind I said oh well my wife will get the beef I didnt. But when they filled her order she didn't hardly get any meat also. My wife asked for more beef and was told no she even offered to pay more and was still told no. Well we decided not to get donuts so tney would not get any more of our money. We had got our food to go and when I was done with my food I was ready for my complimentary fortune cookie and found out that they don't do that anymore either. Struck me as odd the first several times I drove by this place in that they area combo donut shop and chinese food. Was a little scared to give it a try until I discovered a couple of my co-workers eat here at least a couple times a week. The daily lunch special at $5.99 for chow mein AND fried rice, plus 2 entrees and a drink is an incredible value. And no skimping on the entree's. The two little comparments get ignored as separators for your entrees. I always order the broccoli beef and the teriyaki chicken. The broccoli beef is spooned into both the smaller compartments and then a slab of succulent chicken (breast?) is chopped several times with a cleaver and then laid on top of the broccoli beef, rice and noodles. And they give you a side of teriyaki to boot! The container has to weight at least 3, if not 4 lbs!! I'm 6'0", 200 lbs, and I have trouble finishing the whole thing. More often thatn not when I'm at work I eat half one day and half the next and am not left hungry on either day. Only once have I dared try (earlier this week) finishing the whole thing and it put me in a food coma!! Haven't tried the donuts but look sweet! May have to start stopping by on the way home. It's across the street from the Jack In the Box! At first I was like alright wow, let's give it a try! My business partner has been here and said it's a bang for the buck. WELL that's what we got! BANG your overwhelmed by the mixture of the smell of fresh donuts and that of orange chicken and bbq'd pork. Don't get me wrong the donuts are great! The chinese food looks fresh (kinda)! I ended up getting orange chicken and spicy chicken and my buddy had the bbq pork and beef and brocolli! BANG BANG back at the office and we're eating and we both start to get bad headaches and feeling nauseated. BANG BANG BANG we think we're not getting air so we open up the doors. BANG BANG BANG BANG We both agreed it was probably too much MSG from the damn food! LOL! Yup, I'm guessing these folks use MSG.
